So I've just taking delivery of my new Nexus 10 and I've noticed that the haptic feedback makes quite an audible sound when the motor spins.
It sounds like loose vibration almost. It definitely doesn't sound nice.
After saying that I have never owned a Samsung device before so is it normal?
Thanks.....Chris.

It does make an audible tone, but it's hard to say if yours is normal without hearing it. It doesn't really sound bad to me. I just turn it off to save whatever battery I can.
So I am getting this buzzing/hissing sound from my ear speakers. It is only noticeable when I hold it very close to my ears in a quiet room. But then it is quite easy to hear. The sound changes all the time. The frequency is different and there is a click sound every second or so.
It doesn't matter if the screen is on or if the phone is in stand-by. A restart didn't help.
I have never noticed this before so it might be my manual update to stock 4.3 that caused the problem. But it might have been there before the update.
It is not really bad because you only notice it when you call someone but it might eat up my battery.
That's normal and not even exclusive to your (our) phone
It's caused by electrical noise

So... I think my G2's vibration motor is somewhat damaged. Or maybe it's just hitting something inside the case. I dunno.
Here's a video I made (recorded using my mother's Galaxy Nexus, so quality may not be top notch, but the sound is there, and that's what matters the most). Turn up your volume and listen to the thing. Notice how the vibration sounds... different when I hold the phone differently?!
It's just vertical-wise, I guess. So that time I placed the phone down on a table... yeah, that was stupid, as the sound of the vibration motor wouldn't change, anyway.
What do you think?!
Oh and fyi : I just got this phone like a week ago. Sadly, I ain't got no warranty (shady invoice). Didn't drop it or anything. It's just how it is, out of the box.
Hi, just got my S7 Edge and every time I get a notification with sound from whatsapp or fb messenger, the sound is followed by about 10 seconds of soft static noise that sounds a bit like running your hand on a blanket. It's intermittent and pretty low volume (I only notice indoors but it's definetly there). Does anyone else have this issue? I am unrooted and using nova launcher.
I recently got a V30 to play around with and I have my M9 OFF sitting on my bookshelf, but every morning, my alarm goes off on it. It's turning itself back on for what I'm assuming is the alarm because the battery life is still good. Cool feature if you phone shuts off for some reason, but I got a feeling its more a bug than anything else. It also means the phone isn't really shutting down 100% which I find odd. Anyone else happen to notice this?
I use Bluetooth mainly so I'm not sure if this has been an issue or not, but phone calls on the front speaker almost sound like the speaker is blown, but while playing games or listening to music the speaker sounds just fine. I'm at a loss on that one. It's not terrible, it just sounds off.

Do you plug in your phone when you go to sleep? Thats the only thing I can think of. The speaker issue, could it be a carrier issue? Maybe the mate has got jealous of the V30.
By the way how do you compare the two phones (other than the V30 DAC power)?

The M9 is unplugged and sitting on my bookshelf. When it does start back up on its own, it must be right before the alarm because the battery is usually only a few % down from the last time it started up on its own.
I doubt the speaker is carrier based, but it maybe a bad signal just causing the speaker to vibrate, but.. I've never really had that issue with any other non-tmo phone.
The phones aren't even the same if you ask me. The Mate 9 still has my heart, but there are somethings about the V30 that work better and some not. I could probably write a small novel about the things I love and hate about the M9, but I'm guessing I'll fire it back up sooner than later. If I need to RMA because of the speaker, at least I have the V30 to keep me going.
If you got the V30 up and running, Have you done a factory reset on the mate?

Havent seen a reason too.. the Mate 9 starting up on it's own has to be because of the alarm, but I'm not sure if anyone else noticed the behavior. The speaker thing is hardware or maybe thats just how it sounds and I'm not used to it. I was hoping the Oero update would show up soon, I planned on resetting it then.
