Hello friends.
I have the following thing with my volume up button. If I run a finger along, it would flex and slightly click both on top and bottom portions of the button (no press action registered), like something is moving under it. No such thing with volume down button, it's solid. But both buttons work perfectly fine with adjusting volume.
I thought that was the problem, so I stopped at the T-Mobile store, where I bought my G6. Seller ended up opening two brand-new devices and they both had this issue, even worse than my original phone: when I was running my finger along volume buttons, they clicked like I was pressing them. But store display phones didn't have this problem.
I took my original phone back as of now. Do your phones buttons have similar clicking thing, if you run your finger along them? Is this an issue at all?
Otherwise, I like the phone, it's a good device. I can probably just put a case, that covers buttons, so that they don't flex.

I am using a HTC HD2,
I have just noticed that there is some play with the buttons on the front.
If you put your nail between the home and windows button the whole thing moves left and right by a few mm.
Does anyone else have this movement?
Looks as though the button block has come loose from the circuit board.
I am talking about the hard buttons on the front of the HD2.
All functions work I am just wondering if this is a fault or if anyone else's phone does this, ta
Yeah mine too, volume buttons are flimsy too.
So I dropped my phone and the volume buttons semi-broke. They don't respond to normal presses but do occasionally react if I press hard enough (so obviously not fully broken). Does anyone know more about how the volume keys work and a possible fix?
I had the same problem. I opened mine (various guides out there, Google it) and put two small pieces of folded paper (to get the right thickness), under the button area. It works fine since.
Thanks a lot.
I just figured out If i press closer to the middle of the rocker it'll pop up more easily so I can at least adjust on screen.
Hey guys.
I'm super happy with my G2, and coming up on 4 months with it. However, I have a problem.
The power button and volume down, overnight and out of nowhere, got really squishy and weird.
There's no distinct "click" anymore, but they do work. It feels like I'm pressing a button with a pile of rubber under it.
The volume up button works perfectly normally, which adds even more to how odd the other buttons feel.
So, how do I fix this? Can I replace only the buttons, and if so, how hard is it?
Also, is anyone else experiencing this issue? Once again, the buttons do work perfectly, they just aren't behaving as they normally do.
Just wondering if anyone has slightly loose buttons. As in, if I tap them lightly I get a tiny metal on plastic sound as if it the button itself wasn't attached to the sensor on the inside.
I'd like to have a perfect device but I'm afraid of RMAing and getting a screen issue or something worse.
Yeah I noticed that too, not really an issue. Also if you press lightly on the power button wothout activating it you can feel it spring back...just an fyi

is the volume button springy as well? just trying to make sure I got a defect-free phone. I haven't had a phone yet with springy side buttons. Seems like they might not last that long??
Not like the power button.
Mine are loose as well but I think it's common across many devices. I've had loose volume and power buttons on my Note 4, Moto X 2014, and even the HTC One M9. I've checked on these occasionally and have been told that a little "play" in the buttons is normal.

I've tried
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-oneplus-2-home-button-dead-t3324321
none of the solutions worked while I was on Seraphs CM13.
There wasn't any on-screen buttons even in the buttons menu, so then I decided to flash Oxygen back on it because I know there was on screen buttons. After getting Oxygen 2.2.1 back, I tried to call *#808# and it would just lag and nothing would show up. Now the phone keeps restarting on it's own, power button doesn't make the clicky sound anymore however I'm able to feel when it's pressed down and I'm not sure if the power button is the cause of it. Not sure what to do from here, should I just contact OnePlus? It's been several months with my phone.
Same here
The home button on this phone is a capacitative one, it should not make any clicking sound as it's static.
Probably your home button and/or IC circuit just died for you like many others (me included). I swapped the button myself, as I'm pretty used to repairing phones myself, but that alone didn't fix the home button so it's probably the speaker IC or flex cable going up to the mainboard that's gotten fried by static electricity through the button.
