H870DS No Wi-Fi Connections - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hello everybody,
Have bought an H870DS and apart from the missing root permissions happy with it.
The problem now is that when I'm at work it loses the wireless connection after some time and stops seeing networks (see picture). The only thing that helps is rebooting or switching aircraft mode on and off (in the long run it is not a solution) and then it keeps the connection for some time. Happens only in the work environment and not at home. I already deleted system cache data and could still factory reset. Happens also with disabled data saver, VPN, alarm, etc.
I have another week to return the device. Can someone help me.

Install LG bridge software on your PC and update your firmware, even if you're running the latest revision of Android for your phone.

[Q] WiFi and Bluetooth turned off on boot

I have a stock Verizon S5 that I've had for about a month now. Initially I rooted it using Towelroot, then I unsuspectingly applied the OTA update to NE9 which killed my root. I've decided to just keep the phone unrooted going forward and haven't tried to root it since the NE9 upgrade.
Since upgrading, I've noticed that every time I power up my device, or restart it, the device seems to remain in a hardened state for an indeterminate amount of time. The most obvious symptoms of this include the WiFi and Bluetooth being turned off (but NFC will stay on if it was on before). I've also noticed that if you plug it into a computer, the USB will say it is connected as a media server, and the computer will acknowledge a USB device has connected, but it won't show up in Windows.
If I manually turn on WiFi and Bluetooth, the WiFi will find a network, connect to it and get an IP Address, but then it gets stuck on "Checking the quality of your Internet connection..." This can go on for 10 minutes or more. This means that for however long the phone decides not to connect to the WiFi my phone is using up my cellular data unnecessarily.
Without warning this hardened state will go away and the WiFi and Bluetooth will turn on if they weren't already manually turned on, it will connect to a network, and the USB drives will become accessible.
I was worried this might be an issue with applying the update while rooted. I've Used Odin to flash the NE9 stock ROM on the device. The issue has persisted after the flash. I'm wondering what could possibly be causing this behavior and if it is now worth doing a factory reset to see if that fixes the issue. I'd rather not do that and find out it didn't help because then I'll have to re-setup my phone.
Anyone experienced this, know what's causing it, or if a factory reset might fix the issue? Thanks!

Wifi on Lolipop 5.0 G870A will not connect

For the last week or two I have been unable to connect my phone to wifi networks.
At first the problem would be that I was getting disconnected from any wifi network I joined, now I can't connect at all.
The wifi networks page sometimes (not always) does not detect a strong network even if I am standing a few feet away and the phone has previously connected and other APs are connected and working like my pc
If I try to connect then I get the "Connecting" status followed by "Saved, secured"
I have searched the internet looking for a fix to this and tried wiping the cache partition, forgetting the network, airplane mode toggling on and off, apps that wipe the known network list and some others including lastly a factory reset on the phone but nothing seems to remedy the issue.
From the wifi router I have tried using an unencrypted (open) connection
Now I think I may also be having problems with the bluetooth connecting in the car but I haven't had a chance to really investigate that one yet and it may or may not be related to the last factory reset.
My phone is not rooted.
Build no. LRX21T.G870AUCU2B0F3
kernel3.4.0-4443965

Can anyone offer any assistance to my current issue ?
Alan
I have just confirmed that the Bluetooth in my car is not detecting my phone when it scans (the phone bt is switch on and the visible box being checked) so that's both radios with similar issues.

Im having same issue with wifi... sm-g900r4
I just stumbled on a clue, while using an app called 'wifi cleaner' there is a feature allowing you connect to wifi networks within the app. I type in the password, authenticating is shown on the screen followed by "incorrect password".
I know the password to be correct..
Mmm

I was wondering if you ever got this issue fixed?
I thought I had but the problem comes back in a different way.
Sometimes wifi connects but only connects at 5 mbps.
Now wifi will not turn on at all. ( radio button is greyed in settings)
I did find a thread on xda where some Motorola users were having the wifi off issue and it was due to a missing system file which could be replaced on a rooted device. However I don't have root on my s5 g870a and it's not likely I can get it.

WiFi problem after update

Help!!! After update to 7.0 my phone has trouble connecting to WiFi. It's not mynetwork because other devices connect and it happens at my workplace too. I've tried clearing the partition cache, restarting it and forgetting the WiFi. Even putting it into airplane mode for a few minutes. I'm not very techie so please keep keep answer easy to understand.
I think I fixed it. I went to my Google account and there was a way to restore my wifi settings.
My wife's G4 has been having the same issue... I cannot get it to reliably connect to any wifi network. Very occasionally it will connect but it only lasts for a few minutes before dropping again. Most of the time it just doesn't see any wifi networks available. I've tried resetting to factory, I've reset default networks under wifi settings, I even applied the new system update that came out yesterday, and still no luck. This is very aggravating. Anyone have any ideas?

Wifi issue on droid turbo 2 after updating security patch on nougat 7.0

Hello everyone!!!
I am facing an issue of my wifi connection with my home/office network after a security patch update of nougat 7.0.
Whenever i turn on my wifi, it connects with the saved networks, but after some time (which is random) it disconnect itself from that saved network. Then i have to reconnect it again and sometimes i have to give password for the saved network to reconnect. After a certain time wifi do not connects to my wifi adapter. my wifi modem is fine, and is running fine with other devices.
i am having this issue after update of security patch.
Can anyone help me to fix this issue, i have tried clearing cache partition and resetting my network settings and also i have turned off wifi scanning in location settings but nothing helped.
Please see if something can fix this issue ..
Thank You.
Same Goes To My Phone
Welcome to the new upgrade! I have the same issues that you described in addition to my Bluetooth. If I reset my phone Bluetooth doesn't come back on, I have to manually turn it back on...plus it has a bad habit of disconnecting even in the middle of phone calls. Whoever QA'd Nougat for the Droid Turbo 2 should be fired! I'm hoping for another upgrade to possibly fix these issues as I am stuck with this phone for almost another year (have 3 total) but I'm not holding my breath.

Wifi problem - phone freezes when connecting to a wifi network

Phone: Snapdragod S10+ (SM-G9750)
I'm having problems with wifi connection. When connecting to wifi networks the phone either freezes and forces a restart or keeps turning the wifi off and on repeatedly while gaining a connection to the wifi network for about 10 seconds inbetween. This is a brand new phone. Tried resetting the network settings, did a system update, multiple restarts etc - nothing helped.
Any help is appreciated.
if it's a brand new phone....go back where you buy it....
That could definitely be a hardware problem--I had an OP5 that behaved similarly because it's motherboard was defective. I would boot the phone into Safe Mode to see if it still happens to verify that a third party app isn't causing your problem.
The other software possibility involves how you set up your phone. If you set it up from a backup (including a Google Cloud backup) rather than completely from scratch as a new device it's possible that the backup restored system data that is causing your issue.
