It's too dark to use sometimes unless I lift it up, making it hard to see notifications quickly. (When main screen is off) When it's on auto, it gets too dark most of the time unless it has direct view of light. Any way to turn off auto brightness on it or make it brighter?

hi , Does anyone know how resilient HD2 screens are to image burn in.
Is there a way to have the backlight go off rather than dimmed after a time on non use without disabling the auto screen brightness on normal use. I want to have the HD2 working (gps app) 24/7, and have had to untick switch off after a certain period of activity to keep it from switching off, but I cant find an option or hack to have the backlight off but the unit still operative other than to disable the auto brightness which I like and then manually turn it down. Its automatic dimming still leaves it unnecessarily bright with no one looking at it and I did think about image burn with extended periods even at 30 percent brightness. Thx folks.
Like topic said, when I set the brightness slider to auto, I can drag it from -5 to +5. What is this and how does it affect the autobrightness?I find the phone to be too dark in a lit room and to bright in a dark room. Will dragging it either way make a difference? And what does it do? Is "auto" not "auto"?
Is it really so hard to understand? When brightness is set to auto you can use this slider to make screen more or less bright in the same conditions. Another words if you think that auto brightness sets illumination always too dark you can drag slider right or too bright drag it left. But unfortunately if your screen is too dark in one condition and too bright in another this slider won't help you.
Since I got this phone, I see this happening.
If I touch the screen immediately as the phone becomes dark after 30 secs of no interaction, the brightness increases but not to the full level.
This happens when auto and preset brightness.
Returns to full brightness if I tinker the brightness setting - eg. If I turn auto brightness on then off.
Anyone knows what's going on?
Do you have any xposed modules installed?
Sounds like 2 or more modules/apps are having a punch up
It has been doing it for a loooong time. In both KitKat and Lollipop. Can't remember if it did it in JB. When i am outside, i cannot see my screen when my alarm is going off. The screen is too dark, nearly black. i know the spots where to slide my finger, but sometimes i like to know why my alarm is going off.
Auto brightness on and off, doesnt matter. It is ONLY the alarm. Lock screen and s-window are fine (as long as i have auto brightness off or it isn't too bright out)
I had to switch out my s7e and my 2nd unit keeps dimming the screen when in low light. I have brightness at max and auto brightness turned off. Are there any fixes for this? Does anyone know if the Base (sp) rom fixes this?
Test if your device does this: set screen to max brightness and turn auto brightness off. turn your screen off. Turn off the light in your room. Turn screen on and unlock screen. It should be a bit dimmer. Now turn screen off, turn the rooms light back on, and turn the phone back on. It should now be brighter. Does your phone do this?
Bump
Mine does it too and while this issue has been documented on different forums I have yet to see a real season or fix. Found posts about it also happening on the S6. It is irritating as I thought that auto brightness turned off should completely prevent this. You can trigger changes by covering/uncovering the proximity sensors at the front top of the phone with your fingers.
