alt autocycle - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

After I got my new phone I installed ES Fileexplorer only to find out that it is rumored to ship with spyware.
I uninstalled it and checked for files that were not removed and found 2 suspicious folders. I forgot the name of the one (something with d) and was able to remove it. I wasn't able to remove alt_autocycle (it comes back everytime). I did a factory reset and still have the same issue, alt_autocycle remains. The folder is empty by the way.
There wasn't a definitive answer here.
Can some other moto g5 users confirm that this folder is normal? I already did a factory reset but the folder still comes back. Sophos found no threats.
Can I reflash the stock image without warranty loss (unlocking bootloader)?
thanks in advance!

I noticed that folder on the new factory reset device. So, I don't think it has something to do with ES file explorer or any application. I guess that folder is related to system and there is no need to be concerned about that.

[Q] Cannot delete some folders

So I have a few folders which cannot be deleted. ES file explorer just says xxx cannot be deleted. I can rename the folder but not move or delete. I'm guessing there is a problem with one of the files in the folder but there are loads.
I origionally rooted the nexus 7 so I could use sixaxis but found too much lag compared with plugging in the controller so decided to return to a stock image. I did an app+data+sd card backup with nexus tools and it was after doing this I have had this problem. (also most of my games which I backed up lost their saves - wheres my water, dead trigger + others is this normal for these games?)
Any advice much appreciated
(oh since applying the stock image I no longer have root)
Could be a file permissions problem, try rooting your device again then changing permissions on the files to give yourself full read/write access to these files.
If this doesn't work you could try deleting them through the command line, but this would also require you to root your device again.
Hope I helped.
Hi thanks for your suggestion. I completely forgot I posted this. Anyway I rooted my device using the toolkit and all worked well. But I still cannot delete many folders and files and also some apps don't seem to be able to save properly.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? Apart from this the system is stable and I would rather not do a fresh install because of all the games I have (long downloads and I have had problems backing up and restoring saves in the past) is there a way to just set all the files and folders on my phone to read / write (es file explorer reports these files have the required permissions but maybe setting them might do something)

[Q] Permissions

Hi there, sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find too much about the problem. I am also new with this for the most part.
The other day I restored my N7 from PA back to stock to rule out a YouTube buffering problem (and turns out that didn't work, still same issue regardless). I decided to go back to PA 2.54 and while everything works, I can't save images from chrome into the downloads folder nor can I delete folders.
Do I have to reroot again? Assuming yes but if there are additional processes I have to go through please let me know.
Also, is there any fix available for my youtube problem? Thanks in advance.
Okay, so I rerooted and I was able to save the image I wanted finally. However, I still cannot delete files, specifically in the sdcard/ folder. There is a folder called "downloadttt" (I renamed it this purposely for testing purposes). There is one file in there (PA 2.54.zip) and it refuses to delete, same as the "downloadttt" folder.

Baidu folder on my SGS4

Hi,
In my SGS4 i got a folder called "Baidu", I do checked and deleted and it comes back after few seconds after deleted.
I had removed some app's to test and nothing works, the folder come back.
I don't use ES File Manag.
It just creates 2 db files.
Android 5.0.1.
Thanks.
Are you using Baidu browser? Cuz that's probably why it is there. Or any other app that has been created by them.
No, not using that.
No Baidu apps at all? Then it must be some adware.
I had it too. Just did a factory reset to wipe the internal storage and it's gone. Lol. Maybe u can backup ur stuff and try that for the last resort.
Confirm, no baidu apps.
I had done that reset and the folder is still there. It must be some app process, but which app?
No solution to catch app?
Install an antivirus software and do a scan. That might be adware.
Scan by Avast! doesn't report anything, finished with 0 errors.
Hi,
Problem found. That was Samsung Vitamins program creating that folder, after disable it and test no more Baidu folder.

Files disappearing?

I did a search, but it yielded no results, so I'll ask it here... I use file Explorer and every now and again it will tell me in the status bar that I'm using this much space on the internal memory and ask to delete recently downloaded files or something to that effect. I tell it no and go on with my day. Today I realised that 7gb have mysteriously gone missing from my download folder inside file Explorer. I have no idea what happened to them. I'm currently running PureNexus with elimentalX kernel. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm wondering if this could be rom, file Explorer, or download manager related. Thanks in advance...
I am having the exact same damn problem as you. and I cannot copy it out of my phone, because it cannot be found in my phone. lol wtf
PS I am on Android N, and this has happened to me multiple times in the past.
Same thing with me. Stock ROM, rooted.
It's weird, the files can be found on the phone but not while trying to transfer files to PC.
There was a known bug since Android I-don't-know where whenever there is a new folder/file created, commonly in the Downloads folder, Java wasn't reloading that folder so it was stuck to the last time the folder was reloaded, long story-short, it stays as it is until you reload the code.
Try clearing Media Storage cache and then reboot. That got mine fixed.

Help with bizarre permissions error on T95 box

This is weird.
I bought a T95 box and have been using it with an external keyboard almost flawlessly for months. The only issue was that the Enter key was incorrectly mapped.
I found a guide to fix this, which involved using a root browser to edit a single word in a keyboard mapping file. I installed two root browsers, made the change to the file and then found it wouldn't save due to a "read only file system". I thought I'd change the permissions of the file and then the folder just to make this tiny change, but nothing would do it. Then I looked at the folder, and the file i had been trying to save had been completely blanked - 0kilobytes. Which is weird, as I thought this was a read only file system?
I found another copy of the file and tried to paste it into the folder, but exactly the same problem again -read only file system.
My keyboard is now useless as none of the keys are recognised and I have no way of restoring it to functionality as I can't restore the file that was overwritten on the allegedly "read only file system".
Any suggestions? I guess a factory reset might possibly help, but I've spent the best part of a year setting this device up just right so that has to be a very last resort. Tearing my hair out here...
I managed to delete the 0kb file and paste a replacement in its place, but it too instantly became 0kb. This is surreal.
