Hi there,.
I found that my Logitech F710 Wireless Gamepad not working on my device (both dinput & xinput). Currently running Stock OOS 4.5.5 & stock kernel.
It worked perfectly on my previous device (Oneplus One running Sultan's ROM), but doesn't work on OP5 for some reasons.
Does anybody know how to make it work on my Oneplus 5?
EDIT : SOLVED by using Boeffla Kernel and enabling XBox controller module on Boeffla-Config V2 app
How is the gamepad connected to the phone?

it's connected via USB OTG. Tested My wireless mouse using this method and it worked, but not my F710 gamepad.

I'm using cheap 3rd party OTG adapter. I don't think my adapter is causing the issue tho. Tried connecting to ethernet, mounting 2TB external HDD using this adapter, all work flawlessly.

My advice is to try another gamepad, maybe ps4 or xbox one. Or by otg adapter from OP.

Hi, changed the kernel to Boeffla Kernel and now it works flawlessly!! Seems to be a kernel issue

Oneplus 5 Gamepad not detected.
How did you change kernel please share with me not a technical guy please help.
Installed 1controller magisk module on my One plus 5 on OOS 9.0.11 but still refuses to identify the logitech F710 controller via OTG while every other device gets detected immediately. Also installed arter97 kernel in hope that it will allow me to use the device but no success there either ! Any pointers pls ?

It was a kernel issue. Reflashed my kernel with Lazy Kernel dev X.17 & lo and behold my Logitech F710 connected to OTG made a ding noise on bootup & started working
So who can help me? I am using Meizu 16th. I have that same problem. what should I do

I'm wondering if anyone would know if it would be possible to connect an adapter to a PS3 controller that would allow it to be plugged into the Nexus 7 using the normal USB cable for the controller and then would the controller be functional within games.
If it can be connected then would it also be possible to pair the controller so that it can be used over Bluetooth?
I know connecting a PS3 controller to a Transformer tablet with a keyboard dock allows pairing but I am curious if it would work with a Nexus 7 using an adapter.

I don't think normal regular ps3 controller do anything to ur N7 with USB cable,, just like it won't do any to the computer.

I'm pretty confident that it wouldn't. However, if you root and download an application from Google Play it will work. (Sixaxis controller)
It works just fine with a ps3 controller plugged via USB and an OTG cable. You can even navigate the home screen with it.
I can post a video if people want to see it.

Could you provide me to a link with a suitable OTG cable for this?
Also will my Nexus 7 have to be rooted?

is that out of the box?
I remember it is plug and play with windows and I did that and though it was so cool when I discovered that 2 years ago
I'm using the Xoom camera connection kit cable. Which is just a fancy name for an otg cable.
It works just fine on stock. No apps, no mods, just works natively. Buttons can also be used to navigate.
Here's an Amazon link to the cable. http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Connection-MOTOROLA-Packaging-89454N/dp/B004UAG6WC

So it has to be an OTG cable then?
I have purchased an USB A male/female adapter and tried connecting the controller cable and the Nexus 7 cable together through the adapter and nothing happened.
Do you have any idea to why that may not have worked?
Just get sixaxis controller from the play store.

Yes I believe it does have to be an OTG cable.
Also, it doesn't work for all games. I think the game has to have an external controller option. For example the controller doesn't work for Final Fantasy III but works for GTA III and the emulators.

I thought a play station 3 one would work, but i read you have to be rooted? Then I read a wired xbox 360 controller will work? What works for sure? Thanks

You only have to be rooted if you want to use the ps3 control wirelessly. Otherwise on stock, buy a USB OTG cable and plug the control in.

Ok will a generic ps3 controller work? People said the knock off brands wont work but maybe their talking about wireless ones only?

It may or may not. Hook it up and see. It should see it as a gamepad. Bout the wireless, yes if its a knock off it won't connect wirelessly with the six axis controller app.

i've tested the OTG cable with the official Dual Shock 3 controller, and some third-party wired controller- i think Nyko?
both worked on stock.
NYKO PLAY PAD PRO $40.00 at your local GameStop once you buy it go to GPLAY and download the app PLAYGROUND and sync it with your games GOD BLESS it works great on my stock NEXUS7

I have android 4.2 with the USB OTG kernel r165. Usb storage drives, mouse/keyboard and gamepads work however im trying to get a RD9700 ethernet adapter to work with no success
From what ive read the RD9700 is supported on android (albeit at usb1.1 speeds) and it should be as simple as turning wifi off, plugging it in and under settings a new 'ethernet' tab will show up. It doesnt, nor does doing a 'netcfg' in terminal emulator show any 'eth0' adapters.
Has anyone else tried an ethernet adapter? Is there some reason why it wont work on the Nexus4?

Hi, I'm wondering about this too. I got it to work on my Note 2 by compiling the kernel modules and the using 'insmod' to load them each time I needed to. I am thinking of changing to a Nexus 5 when they arrive, but USB ethernet is a must for me. Works out of the box on my N7, but sounds like it needs some work for the smaller nexus.
Anyone who messes around with drones will know what I'm talking about. On other devices with micro-usb, I was able to use an OTG cable and use Cleanflight Flasher, Ez-GUI etc to mess with my Naze32 flight controller. I can't get any power to the FC using my Nexus, USB-C to micro adapter, to OTG. Anyone have any ideas?

I have this problem too.
OTG isn't supported I'm afraid. It's due to USB-type C connector not supporting it.

Well that really sucks. I mean, I still have my Nexus 7 tablet that I can use... But any time you get a new device and LOSE features you had previously, major bummer.

Can anyone tell me if there are any USB C to micro USB adaptors that work for OTG. I've tried a few brands and they will work for charging, but not OTG.
