Hi guys,
I recently bought an unlocked version of S7 Edge on amazon for use of Sprint's free year service. Everything works fine except that text messages won't work when airplane mode and wifi are both on, despite that I can make calls thanks to wifi calling. I read on Sprint support page that text messages over wifi is supported. https://www.sprint.com/en/support/solutions/services/faqs-about-wi-fi-calling.html
anyone here has same issue? any help wud be appreciated!
Yeah I had sprint on my T-Mobile S7 Edge running the U firmware. It works good on WiFi, sprint have plenty upgrade for their network, service sucks ass. Best service for the unlock G935 or G930 is T-Mobile, fully working Voice over LTE and WiFi calling especially when you flash the T-Mobile S7 Edge CP or modem. I got up to 115 mbps LTE+, only thing missing is video calling. Who needs it when you have whatsapp.

I went to Sprint only because they now offer one year free service LOL I'm in San Francisco bay area where the coverage map of Sprint shows they have good signal here however I'm not lucky enough to be in that "good coverage" in most area I go, as the signal bar on my S7 edge shows only 2 dots, which sometimes even jump to 3G! So wifi calling is mostly what I need when im indoor. I tried TMO too, I like that they provide wifi calling and one hour inflight wifi even on the cheapest Pay As You Go prepaid plan. they have been improving their coverage these years but still there's some area with no coverage when I'm on the interstate trip.
I did some research about this text messaging over Sprint wifi calling , but not sure whether it is an issue of Sprint network policy or a software glitch of unlocked S7 edge.

So I bought my wife what I thought was a good deal and got her the N910H not knowing that it was 3G only. Ok, well, on her verizon branded unlocked note 2 she can get HSPA speeds with her sim, but with the note 4 that's unlocked, she hasn't seen above the edge network, and her signal is garbage. APN settings are what they should be, tried a few different variations, and nothing. Bought a Verizon 4G LTE sim from straight talk for her, before I realized it was 3G only and only assumed it would help. But would it help? Both ATT and Verizon get LTE coverage in the area, or what can I do to fix my signal? Oh yeah, and I can't send or receive pictures...ugh. HELP
*apparently she can now receive pictures, but still can't send them

Try changing the modem, i should help, cheers:fingers-crossed:
I almost purchased the 910H myself but luckily found out it doesn't support LTE before pulling the trigger. If you can still return it, get the 910C model instead. It supports LTE for both AT&T & T-Mobile.
I'm using my 910C on Straight Talk AT&T ATM.

So, just tried the only 2 other modems I could find for my N910H running KitKat, and signal is no different. Any more ideas?
update
Ok, so playing around with some of the settings in more networks, mobile networks I changed the network mode from gsm only to wcdma/gsm (auto connect) and data speeds are NOW where they should be, which is 3G, and with a full signal got 8MB down speed, so, that's good. Now the question becomes why can i receive pictures and not send them. Actually managed to get a couple to go through, but no clue how or why they went through.
So today i bought a unlocked Verizon S7 edge and I was wondering how much difference is in the data speed with T-Mobile network compared to Verizon, like will the T-Mobile network get close to Verizon speed? (Probably not phrasing this right) Like will the Verizon S7 on T-Mobile data work efficiently or will there be a significant slowdown?
I think it just matters more on your own signal strength based on where you live. It looks like the only band you would be missing is the lower 700hz frequency band I believe. Though it should work without issues, you're never going to be sure that you have the best possible service unless you get a phone with all compatible bands.
Where I live, tmobile gets awesome speed. Faster than AT&T and Verizon. But the stupid thing often times drops calls and very spotty depending on where you go. I couldn't stay with tmobile because of that. I had 2 months with tmobile. I was always on AT&T before that, so I got curious of Verizon and now testing their service. So far I'm not impressed.
If you're talking about a T-Mobile S7 vs Verizon S7 on T-Mobile, there is a huge difference in speed between the two. The Verizon S7 doesn't have band 12, and in various markets where carrier aggregation is enabled, I don't get those speeds on the Verizon version. As an example, on a T-Mobile phone I got around 40-50Mbps, but on my Verizon S7 with a T-Mobile SIM I get 5-10Mbps.
I can't my T-Mobile s7 edge to work on Verizon at all
I understand that volte is not supported on the 6p when it comes to using at&t.
How is the quality of calls when it comes to being dropped to 3g or h+? Right now I have T-Mobile and I like them but their coverage is struggle in my area especially at work and I'm extremely thinking about switching to at&t. The only thing holding me back is volte which sucks. I dont care much about wifi calling as I don't even use it currently with T-Mobile. Can you at least surf the web while on a call? Obviously not over LTE but over 3g/h± ? Thanks
1. Calls are no different in quality for me. I had a AT&T branded note 4 with volte.
2. Yes i can surf the web while on a phone call on 3g/H/H+. The only ones that can't are cdma carriers. Verizon/sprint and any of their mvno's.

I'm not sure about how it works on at&t but on Verizon volte works great. I can be on a phone call and surf the web over LTE. If you're not in a good service area it can be annoying because it will drop calls when you lose LTE service and go to 3g and obviously volte doesn't work on 3g. I live in a major city so this really isn't an issue for me for the most part.
I also came from a ATT branded Note 4 on ATT. VOLTE stopped the second the 6p booted with the ATT SImcard. I had no issues with non-volte voice quality, And Voice+data has always worked with ATT's GSM network. I did end up switching to Verizon simply for VOLTE. Along with the other VOLTE features. Like the faster dialing..etc.

Honestly, It was the faster dialing. (From the time you hit dial to the time it's actually ringing)
I'm an engineer for an Internet/Phone provider. And do a lot of test dials from my cell phone. Waiting ~10 seconds for the call to actually reach 180 progress was bugging me. ATT's HD voice switch did the same call in ~1sec, Just as VZW does. Sounds petty, I know. But it was driving me crazy.
So anyone know how to enable wifi calling and hd voice using 6P on AT&T?
Hi Guys,
I have an extra upgrade on my account, but want to use it on AT&T. I know the phones are sim unlocked, but will I be able to use LTE on AT&T?

I believe just on bands 2 and 4. AT&T uses band 12/17 for their low-band spectrum (great for in buildings and rural areas), so you'd have sub-par experience.
To get the best experience, try swapping (literally) phones with someone selling an AT&T one on Swappa.
General information to follow:

I have a verizon s7 edge. I have an att sim a Tmobile sim and a Verizon sim that I swap depending on the area I am in (I use google voice with call forwarding so my number doesn't change)
Att and Tmobile work fine 80% of the time. But anywhere that the 12 band is used you will have no signal in heavey populated areas you will have no issues, but once you get into the less populated areas your coverage is spotty...
I have to use verizon at home, t mobile at work for the free music and video streaming, and Att well I hate ATT but I have a number on my ex wife's family plan for another 7 months so I use the data I am allocated on the plan then swap the card out again.
hi all,
has anyone had a chance to compare the officially released versions of tmo and att on the att network?
i think someone had done this on a previous version, but i was curious if there was a big difference in data speed/performance/bloat.
i'm currently on the tmo bqb1 on att and enjoying it, but haven't tried the att version after it was release.
thanks in advance!
for me its better in many ways. Mobile Hotspot working(Not Included in My Plan), S Health working (wasn't Working On Att for no reason) less Bloat, little better Data speed. Performance is little down only cuz occasionally phone doesnt wakeup from sleep when pressing Home button (takes few seconds to wakeup) .
I've noticed almost double the speed from my cell service. No idea y but for some reason the att store is faster on Tmobile firmware.
Looks like I'm just gonna stay on this then. Thanks!
When I was on the T-Mo version, I was getting better DL speeds and overall better signal strength than I get on the AT&T version. I'd be really interested in flashing the T-Mo modem if one came available (It may already be, I just haven't looked).
Honestly, that's the ONLY difference I see comparing the 2. I disabled the AT&T bloat just like the T-Mo bloat, the ROM's themselves behaved exactly the same for me
Does VoLTE and WiFi Calling work with ATT service on the TMobile Rom? What about Whitepages integration?
