For anyone stuck in a bootloop after flashing AQG5 *fix* - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

If you have flashed the latest AQG5 firmware and now stuck in a bootloop of the Samsung logo and only able to get into download mode here is the fix thats sorted many out. Stop sweating your not screwed lol After many hours of doing just this with @sebastassara we got it sorted :victory:
1. Download earlier firmware AQF7
2. Hold power, volume down and bixby button for download mode
3. Open Odin on your PC
4. Add the AQF7 BL and only this
5. Hit start and straight after this hold the 3 buttons in again power, volume down and bixby (this should fail at first and bring you straight back into download mode)
6. Now back on Odin spam the start button this time (this should flash the BL and have you sorted again)
Hope this helps and stops you thinking your phone is screwed lol :good:
Also here is a youtube link credits @ISF for taking my advice and making a video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTi3uBkpJic

OMG, you saved my ass
In fact i was alrady in sweating panic mode

THANK YOU!
Specifically created an XDA account just to say thank you! - Saved my phone.

Thank you!!!

Np guys. Many of us were on the same boat lol scary stuff

Man you are an absolute lifesaver! Needless to say, I was in panic mode. I'll also note that if adding only the BL doesnt work you can still add the other components for a full re-image (like I did)

Can't find the earlier firmware on this site any links? thanks

I find Updator very good and gives pretty good download speeds:
S8 (SM-G950F), sorted by date with newest first (which isn't necessarily newest version).
S8+ (SM-G955F), sorted by date with newest first (which isn't necessarily newest version).
SamMobile is also very good, though without a subscription the download speeds are restricted.
S8 (SM-G950F], sorted by date with newest first (which isn't necessarily newest version).
S8+ (SM-G955F), sorted by date with newest first (which isn't necessarily newest version).
Both have firmwares for the various editions and you just need to search for your specific model and filter the list to narrow down the search list for specific CSCs.

For 955F (s8+) maybe work in 950F (s8)

[Q] Easy fix for u guys, too complicated for me. PLEASE HELP, I'm here waiting 4 U

8 months ago I got my Sprint S4 i9505. I installed CyanogeMod when they released that "1-Click Root" app. So here I am today about 8 months of using cyanogenmod and I've went back to stock. I used Odin and installed the original stock firmware 4.2. Odin said everything was successful.
I'm trying to update to 4.4 KitKat then have it rooted but I have a problem. I'm on stock 4.2.2 right now but the Wi-Fi isn't turning on. "Prevention Information" is keeping it from turning on.
I don't know where to go from here because I have a feeling that something else is wrong. Maybe the "baseband" or "kernal" version is wrong? I have no idea and anything I do further will either mess things up further or brick it. Should I install KitKat using Odin and hope everything gets fixed?
I am a complete noob! I do not feel like going thru hours of research and understanding definitions in hopes of finding out my problem. I beg someone knowledgeable to get me out of this situation ASAP. I have paypal money, whatever it takes.
Here is my info: 4.2.2 - baseband L720PUAMF9 - Kernal 3.4.0-442222
Ripping my hair out kind of feeling...I absolutely hate dealing with this **** anymore. never again.
Please, help me out if you understand your way around this stuff.

Yes, yes you should.
Go to Sammobile.com and download latest 4.4 KitKat firmware.
Boot to your custom recovery and format system, Cache and Data.
Then POWER OFF your device.
Boot back up into download mode.
Flash 4.4 firmware with Odin (lots of info online to do this)
Once flashed boot into stock recovery and perform a factory reset.
You should be good to go.
P.S- don't bump threads more than once in 24 hours.

[GUIDE] Download and install MM on SM-T715

Hi guys, i'm here to share with you the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 firmware for the SM-T715 (wifi and LTE version). It's an italian version of the firmware but it should work with other regions too. Here's the link for the download:
Link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/70887/T715XXU2BPD6_T715OXA2BPD6_ITV/
Courtesy of Sammobile.
And here's a guide (written by miguimercadob, all credits goes to him) that you can follow also for our tablet.
1->Turn off your tab and boot it into the Download Mode. To do this, turn off your device and then press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously for 2-3 seconds. When you see the warning screen with a yellow triangle sign, press the Volume Up/Down key to enter Download/Odin mode.
2->Download the required Odin.zip file and extract the file on your PC. You will get the Odin3_v3.10.7.exe file. Open it as the administrator to get to the Odin window.
3->Connect your Galaxy device to the computer using the USB cable.
4->When you connect the device, the ID: COM port on Odin will turn Blue. You’ll also see“Added!!” message to indicate successful connection. If Odin des not detect your tab, try to reinstall drivers, try another usb cable and another usb port.
5-> Check "AP" box and click on AP. A window will pop up, just go to the folder where you extracted the firmware and select T715XXU2BPD6_T715OXA2BPD6_ITV.tar.md5 file (name may vary according to device model)
6->Now Odin is checking MD5 and will freeze for a minute or so, but don't worry, just let Odin work.
7->Click on the "Options" section and make sure that only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes are checked. (Do not, in any case, check Re-Partition box).
8->Now, click the Start button on Odin to begin firmware installation.
10->Once you get a PASS! message on Odin, your device will restart. It’s the green signal that indicates a successful installation.
11->Once our device restarts, you can disconect it.
12-> Enjoy Marshmallow on our Tab s2 (First boot will last for some minutes, just be patient! )
That's all! Hope that everyone can update

No this wont trip knox as you're just updating (at least my one is safe). And yes, my t-715 is LTE version, so no problems at all.

Trying to flash back to stock.....Model mismatch

I get model mismatch every single time, I have downloaded the right firmware.. Downloaded the one said to do 5 DIFFERENT ONES that are all essentially the same, I rooted succesffully, then tried to flash xposed and failed obv.
.."Stock-S7-EDGE-ATT_G935AATT2APG1.zip"
"AP_G935AUCS2APF2_CL7617530_QB9897831_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5"
Etc. Idk what to do anymore, stuck in download or recovery mode.
"Downloaded the one said to do 5 DIFFERENT ONES that are essentially the same," what does that mean? You downloaded the firmware zip file that had 5 seperate files in it, and they're all essentially the same? See how you quoted one of the files inside? Notice how it starts with "AP"? In odin, you click the AP button, then add that file in that AP slot. Then the one that starts with "BL" in the BL slot, and so on and so forth, until you have all 5 files in their respective slots. THEN you start the flashing process. Did you do that? If that didn't work, did you make sure the md5 number listed at the download screen match after you downloaded the zip file? Do you have an md5 checksum program on your computer? You can easily find a free one by doing a quick google search. You could also maybe try downloading and flashing a different/newer stock AT&T firmware.
As for xposed, you first need to download and install this version of the xposed apk from the xposed website: XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
Then, if/when rooted find and flash this version of xposed framework in flashfire:
xposed-v85.1-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160530.zip
If you're not having any luck, and your phone is still stuck in download or recovery mode, you can still power it off for the time being using the following steps:
If it's in recovery mode, you'll have options listed, like "reboot system now," and, "power off device." You can toggle through each choice using the volume up and down buttons, and once you highlight the one you want, hit the power button to select it. You can go to "power off device" in recovery mode and turn your phone off for now if you don't want to have to worry about it. If your phone is in download mode, it'll either be at the warning screen where you can hit volume up to continue, or volume down to cancel and restart the phone. If it is all the way in download mode, it'll say "downloading... do not turn off target !!" If it is on the warning screen, just continue into into download mode. If it is in download mode already, or you just continued into download mode, and you want to turn the phone off, press and hold volume up, volume down, power, and home button and hold them all down at the same time until the phone shuts off. Immediately after, let go of all the buttons, and then press and hold the volume up, home, and power buttons until the phone comes back on, and in the top left corner, in blue, it'll say "Recovery booting." It is then that you let go of all the buttons. You will enter recovery there and be able to power the device off.
Anyway, I hope you already got it fixed, and if not, I hope this information helped. I'm not trying to be mean, but you really need to search through all of the forums, read everything, read people's comments for information on how to do these sort of things properly, and how to fix the problems. Rooting, installing custom roms and xposed is a little different on newer devices now. Mistakes can be much more costly now than they used to be, so unless you've read thoroughly on such processes, and/or have found a youtube video that helps and you're feeling confident about it, you might want to reconsider attempting to apply these kinds of changes to your phone. If you have any friends that are good at this stuff, maybe that would be another way as well. Anyway, best of luck to you.
Try Odin 3.12.3 or PrinceComsy version It work for me. My case was that I upgrade to the firmware 935u version bootloader v4 and I wanted go back to PH1 that the bootloader is v2. Make sure to do factory reset before do any flash with odin (I don't know if that matter but works for me). Hope this work for you.

What are you flashing FROM? From what you listed in the OP, you are trying to flash to APG1? What the device is on now could be on a newer firmware

If you are trying to flash the stock ROM and you are on different bootloaders you are going to run into issues. I THINK (and could be wrong), you may be on version 4 (based off of the "AP SWREV: B4(2,1,1,1,1) K1 S3") again, I'm not positive on my assumption here, but, if that's the case you need to flash a stock ROM that is on version 4 of the bootloaders, something like G935AUCS4API2 (BL4)

If you go into Recovery Mode, you should be able to see what ROM you are on. From there, I'd do a system wipe like xjimmy suggested, power off, boot to Download mode, and try to flash the ROM that has matching bootloader

So you are on V4 Bootloaders, and API2, which is the current stock release.
I would
Download the stock API2 ROM from HERE and put them all on your desktop
Open Odin
In Recovery mode, wipe the device
Restart the phone in Download Mode then plug the phone into the PC
Put the downloaded files to their slots in Odin, and hit start

Yes I'm trying to flash the stock firmware but I flashed the rooted bootloader in Odin I think, lol so that may be why I'm having issues. Cause mine fails every single time for the att version and it's driving me nuts and I can't find any video tutorial on it at all, and smart switch won't work with the att one lol Dicks

Note 4 Verizon failing to update to Marshmallow

Hello everyone
Please bear me with me for I am a dinosaur that grew up with Symbian phones, then was forced to use Windows phones and now recently converted to Android, therefore not an expert in this field.
Bought the Note 4 off ebay in UK. Mobile banking app and Android Pay say my phone is rooted however Root Checker says it isn't . I have tried to update to Marshmallow through ODIN but I get the FAIL Auth error every time I try...
In settings the phone shows up as N910F however it is a N910V ... I do need help to figure out the precise model though just to make sure I am installing the correct software.
Also, I am using a Lebara SIM card (partners with Vodafone) here in UK, not sure if that matters.
Would really appreciate if someone would have the patience to guide me how to install Marshmallow on my phone, I just want a clean one and no rooting. Tried different tutorials on the internet but none worked for me or I am surely doing something wrong.
Many thanks in advance!
Andy

Hi Andy I'm also in the UK with note 4. To find out the correct model you need to boot to download mode. Power off the phone, Hold volume down + home + power together. It will boot to download mode and from there it will show you the model.
Post your correct model here and I will post the firmware with the correct steps to flash.
Hi Callum
In download mode it says N910V

Ahh you have the verizon varient.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/117781/N910VVRS2CPL1_N910VVZW2CPL1_VZW/
Here is the stock marshmallow firmware for your device.
Download and unzip the firmware. Place it in odin in AP. In odin options enable auto reboot and uncheck repartition. Put phone in download mode, connect to pc and start.
Thanks for the firmware , that worked like a charm. Is it possible to install a non-Verizon version on this phone? One that does not have the Verizon preloaded apps?
Also, do you know anything about the Note 4 getting the Nougat update?

You can only flash firmware for your device which is N910V. Which means unfortunately you can only flash verizon firmware. However you can root your phone and use titanium backup to remove the bloat.
As for the N update I have read and heard rumours that we will get it but I don't have my hopes up. Even though the Note 4 is 2 years old it's still a high end device. It hasn't been officially announced yet. Only been announced for s6/s7 and future releases

1st download the firmware.
Download odin, latest version is fine but I use v3.10.6
On phone settings go to about device, tap build number 7 times until developer options is there, go on developer options and enable USB debugging.
Plug phone to pc to make sure drivers are up to date.
Once firmware is downloaded unzip it.
Power off phone and put into download mode, vol down + home + power.
Open odin and click AP, insert the firmware. Odin options should be, re partition UNCHECKED, auto reboot checked, f reset time checked.
Plug phone into pc, in odin log it will say added with blue box saying com:3 or similar.
Press start and it will flash and reboot. The first boot can loop a few times or hang on the Samsung logo for a little while it's normal.
If it hangs for more than 15 minutes remove the battery for a few minutes then power on again and it will boot.
If you get any errors or are unsure let me know.

problem with Galaxy A03. after Odining the phone it seem to black screen. I think the phone turn off. (Magisk, Frija)

hello everyone, first poster here:
point:
-first time Rooting
-has unlock Bootloader( at least according to the https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root . bootloader was grayout in developer option)
used this tutorial: https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
timeline:
-used frija to get the Firmware (model: SM-A035F. have check extensively in the phone what was my Model and CSC) ((got firja from Github by SlackingVeteran)
-install Magisk on to the phone (version: v25.1)
-copy and paste the AP.tar.md5 into Phone's download folder, using Window's File explorer.
-Magisked the AP.tar.md5 in the download folder.
-using ADB to pull the Magisked AP.tar folder into C:/folder
-gone to the downloading custom OS interface
-Use Odin3 v.314 with the Magisked AP, original BL, CP, and CSC. DIDN'T used HOME_CSC_OMC. auto Reboot is on.
-i have gone to the toilet while waiting for Odin to finish.
-comeback to only see glimpse of the samsung Logo before blackscreen(no power). (odin app said installation was complete)
-wait for 1 hour. nothing
try to get into recovery mode. so far the phone hasn't comeup with anything. (tried Volume up + power button, Volume up & down + power button, Volume up & down, power button only. i think i hold the button for about 14 second?)
ummmmm yeah... this might be my last hope of not hard bricking this phone.
Also, this was a off the shelve new Galaxy A03, so there shouldn't be any wear and tear.
Edit: sorry in advanced. I couldn't find the Galaxy A03 in the samsung section( had try web search)
Flash boot.img.tar only using Odin
Don't flash the whole AP
Your phone turned off right? Go to a cellphone technician and tell him to battery shock your phone.
I've experienced that issue before

Mine is sm-a035f/ds. Wait for a few days and then try again. Or you can get it battery shocked. I don't recommend rooting phones because I don't see the gain in it.

That is very much possible but I don't see the point in it. Why so? It trips knox and that is irreversible. Banking apps will NOT work. Some more apps like Netflix will break too. Now wonder. Is it worth the effort? Btw why are you trying to root it? There's a solution to every problem these days without root.

You can also use an otg cable to drain the battery quickly... just plug in a usb device that uses a lot of power like a usb fan... it works 90% of the time ( as long as the phone is on it is able to "see" the device and automatically tries to charge it )
