For those suffering from any hardware defects... - LeEco Le Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Listen guys, I know that it's easy to think that because this phone is made and sold from China that you won't get any decent help or support from LeEco or Chinese sellers like Banggood, but that's no always the case, you have to be smart.
Originally I had thought that my fingerprint readers on both my X829's had died, so in a panic I contacted Banggood, I know how much of a run around customer service can get so I cut to the chase. I told them that my fingerprint readers had died. I told them that I had already troubleshooted as best I could, and that I had consulted the forums. I made a YouTube video showing the problem I was having. They told me that I could return it for a refund, but I quickly told them that it costs too much to do that and that the last thing I returned to them got lost in the mail. They then said that I could go to a local repair shop and that they would refund me up to $116 for the repair, so I made a fake invoice for that amount (I had originally bought two fingerprint readers for $7 each on AliExpress to fix it myself). In the end Banggood did refund me $116, and I didn't have to fix my fingerprint readers because I didn't know that I needed a newer modem (23S or 419D) to get them working on Nougat ROMs. Meaning that in the end I only paid $82 for my Le Max 2...

You have to go to "About phone" in Settings, it's in the description under "Baseband version". The link below is to the collection of modems for the Le Max 2. The recommended ones are the Chinese 23S, and the Developer 419D.

Did you update the modem and/or the rom?
Because you are on 19S version, make a test, update only the modem to 23S version and wipe cache and dalvik cache.

You mean, even I am at 19s,I need flash 23s modem?
By the way, don't you think the modem version is 33 for 19s and it is still the same 33 for 23s? I check the China directory. All is version 33. Unless version 33 does not mean anything.

Why all files are 33 i dont know, but yes, you can flash 23S over a 19S rom.
The modem files have the control of FP too, and for some how, old versions of modem let the FP "sleep" every time, and became "dead" when screen is off.

UK Tesco Device - Unlock & Stock ROM

Just posting my experience of getting a fresh Moto G 16GB that was Tesco purchased - unlocked and to Stock.
I linked to the XDA thread by t-bon3 - which is a great guide.
Here is how it went for me.
First issue that the device is locked to tesco sim cards.
Note: you are not unlocking the bootloader or adding root to the system.
The phone will be exactly as if you bought it from retail, just you got it subsided by Tesco.
I choose these guys to get an unlock code - they seemed professional - I avoid ebay & paypal.
http://www.unlockunit.com/unlock-motorola-moto-g?var=tel
Form filling.......
Phone Model : *Moto G*
Country & Network : *United Kingdom - Tesco Mobile*
IMEI: *XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX*
E-mail: *YourEmail*
I then got 3 Emails.
1: Confirm Order
2: Confirm Payment
3: Unlock code (came 11 minutes after I paid)
There were 2 unlock codes - I put a non-tesco SIM in and was greeted with the prompt - the first code worked.
Then after that I followed this guide to Install the UK Retail firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47820707
Files From here
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
I used this one
Android 4.3
Blur_Version.14.71.8.falcon_umts.Retail.en.GB
*Retail UK*
407.3 MiB
40FD34F930D9ADD3AB3F65B5A23FCD00
Simple task, enable USB debugging, reboot into fastboot, run script, reboot.
Now just to wait for the Over The Air 4.4.2 update that is due any day for the UK phones.

I agree I paid too much.. no going back now.
However I disagree that using a Pseudo Stock Rom is superior to flashing an actual stock ROM
I've repacked the UK ROM with the necessary tools to convert a branded device (e.g. Tesco) to a generic device.

Wrong.
It is a full stock UK ROM. It wouldn't install if it wasn't.
In this case, repacked means adding the proper Moto fastboot tool, and a .bat file to automate the commands.
Appreciate the post, Tesco phone now on stock and unlocked via ebay..... cheers all.

Exactly, just does the long winded way from one simple command.
Actually, there is one error in the simple way, if you can call it that, he doesn't say you need to enable usb debugging before you start which might be confusing for noobs.
You don't need to enable it.
Put phone in fastboot, run .bat
Do you guys know if I can flash the US retail rom on my Canadian Koodo Moto g with the bootloader locked?
Try it and see, worst case scenario is it falls to install.

But then would I have to unlock the bootloader?
Not necessarily
My stock rom is not available yet so I would have to unlock the bootloader if it doesn't work. I want to keep my warranty. I will wait it out if I have to.

[Q] Meizu m1 Note file system holds 17.13GB [HELP]

Hello,
I have order Meizu m1 note 32 gb version blue color from fastcardtech.com and i have received a couple of days ago. Today i notice that in storage menu, the file system holds 17.13GB
The phone is unrooted.
How is this possible, I am very disappointed, and frustrated.
This is a big thing. I have pay for 32GB version and i suspect that they fraud me.
Also i have connect the phone via usb to my pc and i saw that the total size is only 11,9GB and not 32.
Also i have install to the phone the ES File Explorer to check the storage capacity and i saw that the phone have 11.94 GB Total capacity and not 32 i suspect that you have change something to the phone software. to look 32gb but actually is only 16GB version. This is fraud.
I have make factory reset with erasing data and upgrade the system but remains the same. :/
Please give me your advice.

I don't find any solution yet. I have try everything but system still holds 17GB. Very weird. :/
Did you try to contact meizu customer service or through their Facebook page? See what they say.
Are you sure it is a real Meizu and not a fake one with fake storage?
It is impossible a fake phone to run flyme os.
I have contact to meizu and this is their reply.

Dear customer

As we checked, this phone(IMEI:866184024006707) is the 32G version phone.

okay this is good news, did you just try to reset the phone like clear all data and upgrade the firmware?
I have the exact same issue with the Meizu MX4 Pro 32 gb. I noticed the system takes up 17.36 Gb of space. I plugged this into my pc and it also states it has a total of 11.7 gb. (I would post an image but I can't seem to as I'm a new user.)
This was also purchased through a third party seller, however I believe they are an authorized Meizu product seller. If there's any more information on this that would be greatly appreciated.
I have basically the same problem with a Note 2, it is supposed to have 16GB, but every time I copy a file it uses twice the space, I used X-plore to map the storage and found out that it makes a copy inside /storage/emulated/0 and /storage/emulated/legacy. I have not rooted it yet so there is not much left I could try so far.
IMEI/SN non match in system
Hi,
I just went into the information in my phone as well, to reconfirm my own imei and SN within the phone, and it's not matching the box... It doesn't register a SN, and my IMEI is a made up sequence of numbers...
I'm growing a sneaking suspicion that there are people repackaging fake phones with fake storage in real boxes and selling the originals without real boxes.... that would also explain the false storage specs as well....
I hope someone else has figured out a reasonable solution, however I am quite certain that I won't be hearing back from the seller...

Will flashing stock KDZ change an IMEI number back to stock?

Hi all, I've got myself a bit of a problem. I bought a second hand G6 (LG-H873 Canada) which is unlocked. It works perfectly fine with my Rogers sim card, but whenever I click on check for update it says "this phone is not registered yet" so I contacted both Rogers and LG and I've basically been told that they can't find my IMEI number. Which makes me think that perhaps the IMEI was changed as a result of the unlocking? Or that the previous owner before the fellow I bought it from changed it for whatever nefarious reasons. Anyways, what my question is, since I can't OTA update or use LG Bridge, if I was to use LGUP and download the latest appropriate KDZ would it mess with the IMEI number? I can live with it as is for now, it's just a few security patches behind, but with Oreo coming shortly, I'd like to upgrade to that obviously. But I don't want to flash a stock KDZ and have it restore a potentially changed IMEI and then I'm left with a phone that no longer works. Also, would it in any way effect the unlock on the device? Any help is appreciated guys, thanks in advance!
No, from experince I can tell you that flashing stock kdz does not mess with the imei.
I google your problem and it seems like it only affects lg devices.

Have you tried LG Bridge? It has a feature where you can update it.

I know it's illegal. But I bought this phone second hand, and its a currently working device. Now I don't know what exactly transpired before it came into my possession, but what I do know is that I can't update it, because the IMEI isnt registered. I've contacted both LG and Rogers, and they've essentially said they can't help me? So I figured once Oreo drops I could at least flash it myself, but I'm scared because what if something ****s it up, and I suddenly have a useless phone?
Sorry to say but you might of just got scammed. Again you can try to use LG Bridge or flash a custom rom to update but be careful because you might restore the original IMEI.
Wishing you the best of luck.

I've tried LG Bridge, it says the same thing, that the IMEI isnt registered, so it won't let me update it.
So you're saying though, that if I flashed the stock KDZ with LGUP, it could in fact mess with the IMEI then?
I was reading on a few other forums, that some people had the same issue, and that once they talked to to tier 2 with LG customer care, they ended up just registering the IMEI because those devices had been apparently "giveaways" or something that had never been registered in LG's system. What's the likelihood of that?

Your chances are slim because lg customer service is the worst but you might of well give it a shot. Do you have a online receipt you can give to them for proof. That's maybe could help your odds.
Again, wishing you the best of luck.?

Unfortunately no, I don't. I bought it in a pinch on Kijiji, because my Pixel bit the dust, and the guy I bought it from said he bought it in eBay last year, so he doesn't have anything about it either.
It works, and that's basically all that matters, but I really want the upgrade to Oreo whenever it comes. Otherwise I'm waiting till October to use my upgrade for the inevitable Pixel 3.
Thanks for your help, will probably just wait for stock Oreo KDZ and then try flashing with LGUP, then take it from there.
Okay,it was a pleasure helping you and hope you get android Oreo. ??
Try to use uppercut or lg up to flash latest stock kdz for your phone.Anyway, update via OTA kinda sucks. Not only it takes for ever, but eventually you'll have to make a reset. So why bother, just flash with uppercut or lg up

alright. so i want to say i went this route as well. i have 3 months left on my sprint contract.that being said, i have the files he used during the unlocking process. the problem is there is another thing he did to actually unlock it. he used something called flexihub while it was in the combination firmware to actually do something on his machine that i couldnt see. this is something he did on the modem level, but i confirmed with him that it doesnt matter if i flash another firmware using odin, my sim will still be unlocked. i have tried this with verizon sim and it works. again, my contract is not up with sprint yet, which means my device shouldnt be unlocked, but this somehow works. if anyone else wants this, here is the ebay seller link that i got mine done within an hour. keep in mind that you have to back up your device, because what he does is flash firmware. also he will need access to your computer to work remotely, but he never strayed from what he was doing. for 7 bucks, this is a steal.

Android 11 decreased my SOT by close to 2 or 2.5 hours. Wanting to flash back to Android 10 (HELP)

So I just bought a used Galaxy s10 Plus on eBay. I was getting amazing battery life and great SOT but I was forced to download Android 11 by force update and now my SOT has gone down almost 2.5 hours from when it was previously running on Android 10. I despise having to deal with these issues even though its a used phone. On the SamMobile website I found the correct PDA G975U1UES5GUD1 but I can't find the CSC code on my phone and I am afraid I will flash the wrong firmware and damage the phone.
How can I Find the CSC code on my phone? The device is been used on Verizon prepaid via Red Pocket Mobile and its Factory GSM and CDMA unlocked. I would really appreciate any help I can get with this.
Thank you so much in advance.
Hello there, you are talking about the consumer software customization code right?

If you are you can find it by dialing *#1234# on the dial app. But i think it is VZW since you've said the carrier is Verizon.

Seems like this is it since your carrier is Verizon. You are residing in the US, right?

So I just bought a used Galaxy s10 Plus on eBay. I was getting amazing battery life and great SOT but I was forced to download Android 11 by force update and now my SOT has gone down almost 2.5 hours from when it was previously running on Android 10. I despise having to deal with these issues even though its a used phone. You won't damage your phone if they mismatch, probably only carrier settings would break
But the link I gave according to that you are having Verizon as the carrier and you are living in the US when you got force OTA update then it’ll match.
That's if you can go back.
Doesn't 11 update the boot loader version too?
Well yeah now that you mention it probably.
Hmm, but there should be a way of degrading the software even so.

If he uses Odin he can downgrade fine enough,
Unfortunately, I think he'll lose his data though.
I haven't downgraded from One UI 3.0 before since I only got a A21s.

I'm still running Pie. It's what I've been seeing here about the 11 update updating the boot loader too. Maybe that's OTA upgrades only.
Not a concern of mine though.
Data loss is a given... at least be prepared for it.
Yeah, I agree since I'm still running 10 Idk really about bootloader changes from 10-11.
But if that's the case then Its probably impossible to downgrade without getting a bricked phone.
Doublecheck the bootloader version code of both versions of android so you don't brick your phone.
This is starting to sound too risky I do appreciate everyones help on this post honestly but at this point I am not going to risk messing up a $330 phone. But thank you all for making things clear.

Well, you can wait for the fix then. Maybe Samsung will release a fix to solve that issue

Yeah hopefully thank you for your help tho. Appreciate it.
No problem, but if the kernel hasn't changed the ROM can be downgraded. If it has you can just take it to Samsung and ask them to downgrade for you.
My friend did that.
