Hey! - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i have a problem, I instaled Lineage on Dual Boot, but, i just can't install Gapps! Via In-app flasher/Twrp recovery! I just can't! But the tricky part is this, it changes all On my Primary Rom, not in Lineage! Soo, can anyone help me?

Just flash gapps exactly same way you flashed your 2nd. rom (patch zip, flash)

[Q] CM7 dualboot with stock 1.2

I know it's not really related but Im getting frustrated.
Is it possible to install CM7 on the primary partition and use stock 1.2 on the 2nd using only the internal memory?
I don't know how to do it cause CM7 always installs on the 2nd partition.
Using CWR, is there a option where it asks you on which partition to install what ROM?
I've read the dualboot thread but I'm really stuck.
Thanks
Here is the deal:
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1050520
Download the rom the KEEPS cwm.
Flash that.
Now boot into cwm and flash this rom:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20480343/ecl...hable-v0.2.zip
Now flash custom rom to first partition.
Dun!

Hi, I hav done exactly the way you described - used phiremod 6.1 as latest step.
But after flashing phiremod 6.1 nothing works (stock and p-mod just stops at the load logo.
do you have some hints?
-dualboot with stock 1.2 is working (before flashing primary)
-before starting to flash stock 1.2 I deleted syystem , data and cache - after not.
First the links are not working from your quote. Second I don't want phiremod but CM7

Phone doesnt like cutom roms :)

Hi my phone seems to hate custom roms like cyamogenmod and gapps because everytime i flash them a bootloop inevitably comes to haunt me. Other roms like Albe95 Ports work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-lollirom-official-1-0-t3049564
My current rom is Phoenix Rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349584
The roms listed above work flawlessly.
A rom that I wanted to try was cyamogenmod 12.1 optimized by JDC team but it wouldnt boot. I followed exact instructions for each rom. Every time i used TWRP.
Could my problem be that gapps screw with the custom rom ?
Google apps are integrated in phoenix rom and albe95.
Maybe thats why they work ?
Please help.
Thank you for youre time.

You can easily test that theory by not flashing Gapps. Just only flash the rom and try to boot it.
Also are you running a Lollipop bootloader and modem?
Ive tried flashing only custom rom but the bootloop comes back. Right now i am running a lollipop modem and bootloader.

Ok do this:
Backup everything that you want to save stored on your internal storage.
1. Make sure you are running the latest TWRP. This is important because using an outdated version will not let you boot the rom.
2. Start TWRP and do a advanced wipe. Format /data (this will wipe your internal storage), format /system, format /cache and /dalvik.
3. Flash the rom.
Unfortunately that does not help. I have advanced wiped ever time before flashing rom. Maybe permisions are the problem ?

What version of TWRP are you using? And did you try booting it without simcard and sd card?
Im using 2.8.7.2 twrp. I havnt tried to boot without sd or sim. Would that be the problem ?

No idea. I'm just guessing because that rom should just boot.
Are you sure the file you downloaded is not damaged? Check the MD5 signature. For example, the latest version of the JDC CM rom has MD5:
3a1af890b87c11256c943759459ec3e4
So transfer the file to your phone. Then download a MD5 checker from the market and compare it.
Md5 matches. Looks like the insides of my phone are screwed up
Reparation your device
As those are caused by a screwed partition
As a reparation fixes this
You are going to need :-
0.a PC
1.a PIT file for your Galaxy s4 (depending on your variant)
2.Odin
3.Samsung USB drivers installed in the PC
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Start with flashing the stock rom using odin. Then go for root, then recovery and then try flashing. I had the same problem but it never bothered me after flaahing the stock.

Issues Custom ROM

Hi Guys,
When i flash a rom it doesn't detect any sim card. But when i'm on stock rom i have my two sim card. I try all the tricks i can find. But nothing works...
I flash LineageOS, Cyanogen 13 and AOSP Extended.
I think i have a modem problem with custom ROM.
If you have any idea for helping me...
If you flash the aosip ROM, which is great BTW, you have to flash one zip file which enables the sims. Check the corresponding thread, keyword "aosip 6.1".
I try to flash AOSIP and the zip file. Still no sim detected.
I really don't understand why i can't use custom ROM. I make a clean flash at each install and my phone is compatible. The only clue i've is when i flash the stock rom modem i had one sim. But when Lineage try to install and update it reboot in recovery...

Do a clean flash with stock rom, then reflash your desired custom one

Just to be sure.
Clean Flash = -Boot in recovery (TWRP) Wipe-> Advanced Wipe -> Dalvik/art + System + Data + Cache + Internal Storage
-After that boot in bootloader and flash stock rom
-Reboot
-Debug usb
- Flash again twrp
-Install custom ROM
- Clean cache
-Boot Custom rom?

I always use rsdlite when going back to stock but that's just my preference. I had similar 'no sim detected' issue quite some time ago and going back to stock was the only fix for me
I have the same problem do you resolve the issue? Please a need my phone.

That's the source of the "(bootloader) slot has no count"? in cmd?
Win10 can cause bad flash of twrp? And all my issue come from that install?

MultiBoot the OnePlus One with EFIDroid - Working on Nougat

So a while back I stumbled on EFIDroid and decided to give it a spin and was surprised how well it works on our device. Bellow I have a video tutorial showing how EFIDroid works. It even has support for a secondary firmware - which means that you could also have Hydrogen OS installed alongside Lineage 14 with no issues since each has its own firmware and recovery. Have fun multibooting everybody.
NOTE: For the OnePlus One when adding a ROM, the directory for the new ROM should be under /media and also you will have to use TWRP 3.0.0_0 (newer ones have bigger ramdisks that cause problems).

I have f2fs as well and everything works fine as efidroid creates virtual ext4 partitions. Are you using TWRP 3.0.0? Also if you failed to boot a ROM once and then try to boot another it will fail, that's why you make a quick reboot and then boot directly the second ROM.

The twrp you booted can only see a virtual internal storage partition. Just boot the secondary twrp, connect to your PC and copy the ROM again

Can't get secondary ROMS to work on Bacon
I've got Lineage OS 14.1 + nethunter + gapps as my Primary ROM. EFIDroid to manage the multiboot. TWRP 3.0.0.0 as recovery. No problem in Primary OS.
I am able to create the secondary OS partitions. I am successfully able to flash the secondary OS. It boots successfully. However, whenever I try to flash open gapps (nano or pico) the system reboots and gives the message "Previous Boot Failed. Cant allocate child memory -9".
I've tried this with two roms now, [ROM][OFFICIAL][7.1.2_r29][BACON][OPTIMIZED]RESURRECTION REMIX [5.8.5][OMS] and [ROM][8.1.0_r7] AOSP Oreo for OnePlus One [Stable] and the error is the same. This tells me its not ROM related?
One more thing, I must mount the system partition before flashing gapps or I get "updater process ended with error: 139". I've also tried increasing the size of the system partition of secondary os from 1GB to 2GB but the result is the same.
Same Problem
I've tried with yet another OS as secondary. There is no problem in flashing and booting the OS but flashing gapps just fails. This definitely has everything to do with EFIDroid.
Further, I've tried flashing the same OS+gapps as primary and it works. Gapps flashing is not working only on secondary OS. Everytime the same error pops up after rebooting abruptly "Previous Boot Failed can't allocate child memory -9 0xffffff7"
Kindly help. Multiboot is of no use if I can't flash gapps on secondary OS.
