Lg v20 H910 vs h915 vs h990ds - LG V20 Questions & Answers

So I have been looking at an LG v20 on ebay, there's different sub - versions for every country and carrier. This website has been pretty helpful :
techwalls.com/lg-v20-model-numbers-differences
I have ATT which is the H910/915 models. The H990DS is extremely similar with 2 bands missing in the LTE CAT12 area.
My question is, what does that really mean for me? Worse reception? LTE won't work at all? Do I still get use of an SD card slot and removable battery? Etc. Thanks!

I am using H990DS. It has removable back and SD card option. It is also tune by B & O. However i am not sure about network band, whether it will work for you or not, as it is country specific.

Who is getting the South Korean LG G2 Variant?

Anyone else intrigued by the LG G2 South Korean variant?
Anyone have any specsheet or detailed base band info for the models?
I'd love to order one into Canada and use it on Wind Mobile (AWS carrier kinda like T Mobile in the States).
There have to be some more people considering the same?
I've seen conflicting details regarding what the model numbers for the South Korean variants are. Anyone else have any info?
For e.g. I've seen LG F320S and LG F320K and LG F320L
Do all of these come with the microSD slot and removable battery?
I guess more importantly: Which one these is compatible with the North American AWS bands?
Would appreciate any deets anyone could provide.
Thanks.

Check the LG page, it has all the frequencies. It looks like I should be alright with Fido/Rogers. I don't think it has the US LTE bands apparently, just 4g?

Wind here doesn't have 4G or LTE yet anyways so that's not a concern.
Which LG page do you speak of?
I tried to navigate to their Korean page but it was only offered in Korean and not in English.

I got myself the F320L, it is the U+ (LG's network in Korea) variant.
(4G and LTE are the same thing outside the US)
try using google translate plugin, or chrome, to translate the site.
I do remember a page with all of them listed, but can't find it right now... I'll update the post if/when I find it
Check negrielectronics, they are selling the SK version, you should be able to get your specs there.

What carrier are you using it with?
Could you comment on battery life that you've experience compared to the reviews of the 3000mah battery?
so what do you use it on ATT or Tomobile

So you use it on ATT USA?
No no, sorry for the late reply, different time zone. I'm using it on t mobile here in Holland.
I'm not allowed to post links yet but if you do a Google search on f320l bands, you will get some results.
I don't have specific battery details yet, battery monitor widget get confused by me swapping out the two batteries
It comes with two batteries and a charger/stand.
I never paid much attention to people complaining about non-swappable batteries, but I haven't had it hooked up to a charger ever since getting it last Saturday. I did swap out the batteries a few times, but hardly every day.

I got mine too,Sk telecom variant F320S.About LTE now you can change the LTE bands from the servise menu,i already put mine on auto.It has 4 different bands there to choose,850 1800 2100 and 2600 (Channels 5,3,1,7) and auto, same goes for the other bands also. Not sure if other variants have more or no.

Question for you: if you pop off the back. Does it state f320s or f320l/s?
Mine actually states f320l/s, and although it is supposed to be the u+ version, which is a wdcma phone, I'm doing fine on hspa+
Looks to me like it's the same phone with different carrier branding

Anyone using the SK variant in NA?
So just went on the negri electronics website and compared the various models.
Seems like none of the South Korean variants would work on T-Mobile USA/Wind Mobile Canada(AWS).
They don't have the 1700 frequency listed in their 3G band.
Can someone validate that this is indeed correct?
hi guys i just got my g2 from korea, works just fine in all networks 4g and lte but here is my problem..i cannot do a hard reset on it using the hard keys, and i can only acces into it as guest.
I tried the combination of volume down + power key,it just doesnt work,no reboot screen or anything.
Any ideas?
thanks for the help in advance

I'm going to buy G2 but not sure if I should buy an International version one or Korean? I would love to have the ability to change battery and sd card but I'm afraid the developer support might not be good with the Korean version? Can it flash international rom?
I am using the korean variant ,well just because of the micro sd and removable battery. Rooting is easy and you just have to wait for custom rom to arrive.

I cannot, but I can say that it works for 3g on Fido, at the very least. It is possible that I need an 'LTE sim card' to get LTE speeds, this is my next step. For now, 3g for the F320S works for Fido.
Also, the antenna captures nothing, but once you pull it out, it looks like a phone from the 80s, so yeah, its awesome.

So what is the benefit of the South Korean model? I see you get two batteries, but at 2600mAh vs the one battery at 3100mAh, you get the micro SD slot, and the removable back cover. What other benefits would I get if I traded my US AT&T LG G2 model for the SK one?
I am a noob at this so I am just trying to make an informed decision as to whether to keep this one or look at a different different one (European vs Asian vs American, etc...).

none other than that.
I got mine as I just couldn't wait for the European release. And I have to say the swappable batteries are a treat... especially as you get an external charger with it. So he always swap in a full battery. Gets you technically 5200mAh

But to be honest, unless you are craving the external sd capability, I would say; enjoy your US g2

[Q] trying to buy a unlocked lgg2 (please help with the model number 801 vs 802)

hey guys my lg optimus g pro has a crack on the screen and i might as well buy a replacement than fix it.
I found a unlocked lg g2 (D801) online.
I am really confused with the various models. I am curious if this 801 will run well on At&t. Also, which of the lgg2 has sd card and/or removable battery ?
sorry about all the noob questions. trying to make a right decision.
page here says 801 has no sd slot but the website i am buying from the seller says the 801 does have sd card slot. just confused
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/D801_Info
The D801 is the US T-Mobile version (you can find the different models in wikipedia for instance). The only models with removable battery and SD card slot are south korean versions (with a smaller battery of 2600 mAh). If unlocked, it should work on AT&T, but do not expect to have an SD card.
Aah i thought so.
I think ill go for the e970 instead a little cheaper

Do any Korean G2 variants work with U.S. LTE (AT&T?)

Hello,
I'm on an AT&T MVNO and i'm really interested in picking up a Korean variant of the LG G2 since it has the SD Card slot which is a really important feature in my handsets, especially since Android M is coming out which I hear might try to make it easier to use the storage versus previous iterations of Android. However, LTE is a big consideration for me as none of my phones have had them yet. Falling to 3G would be too much of a sacrifice, so i'm wondering if ANY of the Korean variants of the G2 will receive U.S./AT&T LTE bands. I know that band 17 is important and i've read a bit about the frequencies but i'm also reading that flashing ROMs might allow for better band range but i'm not sure if this is just broscience or something. Can anyone help me with my purchase decision?
Thank you in advance!

H870DS variant question..

Is this the best variant for the G6? I currently have an offer to trade my V20 for this straight up. Wondering if I should pull the trigger.
Thanks for any info.

Depends on your needing...
You need Quad DAC, Dual Sim and 64GB more than root? If yes that's the best for you, if you need root you have to buy the US997 (not the one from us cellular) or the European H870
On a sidenote, personally g6 is not the best phone, I would rather wait for v30 or switch to another android brand, I have been very dissatisfied with lg mobiles except for the lg g2 which was the best. Just personal thoughts.

H990n, what's the story with this variant.

Hi, I just picked up a H990n with a crack screen for 20 quid: ) Impulse buy, but at that price I'd be a fool to turn it up.
Anyway, what's the deal with this model? Can it be dirtysanta'd and is it a dual sim?
I know I could research this but I'd rather just ask this time.
Thanks.
No need to search.
Here is all you need

The DS model is Dual Sim.
Have fun

As far as I know, every V20 model except the updated LS997 is rootable, so you should be fine. There is a separate DirtySanta guide for the H990 models on here, but for some reason, it's under the ROMs section. The H990N also has dual SIM + separate microSD card slots like the H990DS, just a few different LTE bands. There are single-SIM H990 variations, but I don't think the H990N has one. In my experience, GSMArena is terribly inaccurate when it comes to details of different regional models.

Yeah I'd imagine your right, I haven't heard about rooting issues with any model except the LS997.
So it sounds like the N is basically a DS with slightly different firmware but prolly exactly the same hardware. It would be a bit odd if the N is limited in frequency bands since it's a dual sim. Probably will work fine for me in my locality as it is.

I agree, I usually only use those generic phone sites for very general info like screen size. You are much more reliable C D

FWIW, here's a list of what might be all the bands for the H990N:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/vn2jk/lg-h990n-v20-dual-sim-td-lte?c_id=2513440
If this is correct, then it shares all the bands of the H990DS and has two more UMTS bands and two more LTE bands (17 and 26).

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about frequecycheck, I do find that reliable. And indeed yes, I have 100% compatibility in my locality. All good so, tks.
