Before I decided to buy a Motorola Moto G5 plus I read, that some users have the same problem with FM radio like me.
There is some annoying noise, if I switch FM radio on while the screen is switched on. If the display if off, the noise fades-out after some seconds.
The problem is independent of electric installation in my home, because in the park it is the same.
The Motorola support suggests to exchange my smartphone.
But is it likely a problem specific to only some phones? Or is it a general problem of every Moto G5 phone?
Update: the replacement phone has the same problem
Hi,
Did you find out if poor FM is a general problem of every Moto G5 phone and not just the plus version ?

Hello everyone,
I wanna ask you if you had any problems with your X5 bluetooth coverage? I'm using an A2DP stereo headphone and it work well if I'm not touching the device. However if I touch the top of the device covering the top 1 inch or so inside my palm, it stops playing. Even worse, when I put my phone in my jean's pocket, I can't listen to my music continuously. The sound keeps getting broken when I walk.
The thing is if I leave the phone on a desk or something I can walk away from it about 15 feet or so without braking the sound.
So, what I want to ask is whether or not this is a regular antenna related issue with X5s or is something wrong with my device?
Best regards ..
Which headset are you using? And which ROM? I had this Plantronics BackBeat 903+ bought especially for this phone due the fact that stock ROM doesn't support phones mic while using headphones. Inside music quality was great and I could listen to the music from long distance and in different rooms. But outside it cut music all the time making itself useless piece of trash; I needed it to work on my way to work where I go by bicycle. Then I bought SonyEricssons mv600 and it works like a charm with stock ROM! On void it was bit more twitchy, but still acceptable (cuts only once or twice during 20 min trip). So the problem might be in your headset, not the phone.

Thanks for the info _Vk,
I'm still using the stock ROM. I have the device less than a week and after seeing the bluetooth performance I've decided to wait till I hear from a few of you guys before flashing anything else -just in case i need to replace it if it is due to a hardware problem rather than a general thing-.
I've tried with two different headsets actually, one "bluezen bsh-25", a cheap headset but somehow beats my other headset, "samsung SBH-500" both have the same issues with my X5 and both work really fine with my computer and my old SE Xperia X1.
So any thoughts?
So I take it I'm just about the only one with this particular problem ? I've even installed dzo's Oxygen port ROM but its still the same. I hate to send my device to service since with my luck, it will take a month for me to see my phone ever again.
You're definitely not the only one with Bluetooth performance issues, it's just that not many users are actually using Bluetooth.
The Bluetooth performance has been the same (****) on all Roms that I've tried (and I've tried 90% of them)...The only one that seems to have improved a little is the very latest Oxygen version, but insignificant improvement compared to stock...I honestly believe that BT in this phone is **** and no matter what you do, it's not going to improve.
Well, cheers then. I'll still love my phone even with its bluetooth going to the dark side when I put it in my pocket
Hey guys, I'm having a problem with KitKat (4.4.2). As it turns out, my mic on my earphones stop working or is in extremely low volume. This hasn't happened before on Android 4.3, anyone have a solution? I have a friend who just received her Moto G running KitKat and has the same problem too. Nexus 5 also suffers from this problem, with a video to prove it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSDI4u2Yq7g) Time: 32:10 There is a solution in which you have to hold down the button on your earphones while plugging it in, but as I asked, is there a different solution to this? Like a software patch? Thanks.
LG G Flex KitKat killed call quality
Major problem, my LG Flex is useless as a phone now after KitKat.... I can hear callers clearly but they can't hear me at all.... I Sound like echo/reverb box to them. The problem is so bad that I can't use the LG Flex now and had to switch back to Moto X. Hope someone finds a fix soon. Thanks
I've bought a Moto Play X phone and when I try to stream music to my Skoda Octivia (2013 ) Amundsen unit I notice that the audio cuts in and out, like it's breaking up, I've noticed that if I move my phone closer to the head unit the problem gets worse instead of better. I can't leave the phone in my top jacket inside pocket as this also causes problems with the sound breaking up, if I move my arms on the steering wheel.
I can't put my phone in the phone box located under the unit as this also causes the issues, however I've noticed if I put my phone in the little compartment located in the dashboard opposite of where the driver's knee would be, then the result is much better and there is less break up. It's not totally perfect it thought but 98% better.
When I had a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone I could leave this phone in my jacket pocket, the phone box or on top of it and stream without issues, I really don't understand the problem as this only occurs with Amundsen, streaming to any other bluetooth device does not exhibit this behaviour.
I've tried clearing the cache partition on the phone, different music player apps to know avail.
Does anyone else have this problem or know what it is causing it?, it's very strange it seems to be like the bluetooth signal with from the phone is almost too strong for the Amudsen, it seems I need to keep the phone as far away as possible from the head unit in order to stop the audio break ups.
The main difference I can see between my Samsung S4 and Moto Play X is that the Moto uses Bluetooth 4 LE where as the sammy doesn't, so i'm wondering if Bluetooth 4 LE could be the culprit?, if it is I assume there will be many new flag ship phones which would have this compatibility issue also.
When i am lisitining live audio from app when the screen goes black the audio cuts off in order to keep listening that i have to always touch the screen in order not let it cuts off. I had old moto g 4g and also samsung j3 and i never had such problem with them.Is there any solution for this problem.
Hello friends:
I have an LG G6 that works perfectly, but I have a problem with calls.
When I make a call, I'm heard very low. I tested with two phones together, with a sound meter, one takes out 20dB more than the LG G&.
I already changed the microphone with its full flex, but the problem persists, I guess it will be something of the motherboard or software. I try to cancel noise options too.
I have seen on this phorum that modifying a file of an LG G5 could increase the minimum level of the microphone, thereby gaining sound intensity:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/fix-mic-speaker-mode-call-t3565646
In the LG G6, what file would it be? Is it possible to do so?
Thanks for your help.
