After upgrading to EMUI 5 in beta, I wanted to upgrade to an official update via the recovery revolution. Only, I make a mistake and I chose to VNS L21 while my P9 lite is in L31.
So here I am blocked with this rom and impossible to make updates, except in hard reset with huwaei extractor. The phone name is now "generic_a15"
Some problems are present:
Can not access developer mode
Can not update via Dload
- no recovery
Any solution will be useful to me because my current rom has a lot of worries, thanks to you!

Hello ! I have a problem with my update , emui update center found a new update so i had to dl it , but when phone reboot to recovery nothing happens, i use a custom recovery btw "teamwin" last version !! Any solutions how to update ?? Update is B160 to B196

i own a p9 lite that was on Nougat VNS-L31C432B381 and i decided to rollback to MM. Following Huawei website instructions I downloaded two packages (rollback package and MM) and with 3 buttons method I flash first the rollback package and then MM. All went right and the ROM was stable. After a while of testing (that's why i went to MM), I decided to upgrade to nougat again. From updater it download and install the new android version (1.25 GB). After reboot I noticed that some system app was missing (file manager first). At every reset/factory reset some system app disappear. I repeated the procedure to rollback and upgrade again with the same result. The only way to use the device was to reflash MM and don't upgrade. Here some information I found:
- my starting version was Nougat VNS-L31C432B381
- now I'm on VNS-L31C432B160 (B160 isn't for dual sim? i have the single sim version) stock recovery bootloader locked
- updater try to install VNS-L31C432B370 (instead of B371?)
- if I try upgrade throught updater SN became something like ndr90 test key
- I tried to restore data,syste,vendor,oeminfo ecc.. from backups made with TWRP in Nougat (maybe wahile i was on MM, I'm not sure). It show the correct SN but ROM was still unstable
- I thought to try install full Nougat ROM but i didn't find any package
Can someone help me?

The B37x update that the phone automatically finds after rollback doesn't work and will take you to ndr90 test key as you found out B160 is dualsim so you should flash the 161 one. Then use this guide to update through firmwarefinder/proxy https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/how-to-b388-nougat-maybe-b381-guide-t3612072
If you want to unlock your bootloader you can also flash B3xx through twrp. If not, the guide above works fine.

Hi Mara-X and thank you for you answer.
After I write the post i found the B161 package and i decided to give it a try. After flash (all ok) I launched updater again and it download the B371. The update went well and now i'm updating at B381 again throught updater. I think, when it was done, i'll factory reset the device for a clean install. So it seems the problem was B160/161 -single/dual version.

I have a p8lite emui 4.03 android 6.0. Version number is shown as balong c52b311. I try to downgrade to android 5.0, and back to 6.0 (all via comand prompt and adb) by extracting update.app and flashing,sys,cust,recovery, and boot.. Everthing OK but stiull is showen balong c52b311. How i can slove this ?
balong... is the motherboard from the phone
You don't need to do anything. Just forget it because the only problem as I know is you will not be able to receive OTA updates but you still can update manually so if you don't have any other issue just forget it

So i got a p9 lite with MM l31-c185 and after upgrade to nougat i got l31-c185b360. Later i wanted to downgrade to MM so i did this:
1. Flashed C432OemInfo-DUALSIM-P9LITE.zip with twrp
2. Installed l31-c432b151 with 3 buttons method
--> worked ok however this version does not upgrade to nougat so i decided to install my old c185. I did this
1. Flashed oem_P9L_meafnaf_L31C185.zip with twrp
2. Tried to install l31c185b360 with 3 buttons method but did not work, tried l31c185b150 and l31c185b380 but did not work. Ssometimes pressing the 3 buttons doesnt even launch the "install update from mem card" wizard. Also it fails saying this is not the right package version
Pleaaaase can you help me. I wanna go back to nougat b360 or just aaany other build :'(

The one you flashed is actually for L21, which is very misleading. Please read the thread above for instructions. You can also download the service firmware for your device to update to Nougat directly.

i've successfully managed to unlock my P10 Lite using DC unlocker starting from EMUI 5.1.x
After that i've flashed TWRP (this maybe was an error?)
After that i'm trying to upgrade to EMUI 8.x that is the minimum requirement to go for a CUSTOM ROM.
The problem is: if i'm trying to do that using the official tool in the phone, the update is downloaded but after that TWRP is displayed (sdcard filename looks like encrypted)
How i can proceed to upgrade? the version i'm trying to upgrade to is WAS-LX1A 8.0.0.362(C55)

Put the phone in eRecovery mode and use hisuite to upgrade.

ok its easy...start into twrp (i use TWRP 3.4.0.0 from Darkjoker) and then
in wipe--->format Data
in wipe--->advanced wipe--->dalvik, cache, data, internal storage, system
reboot--->system (ignore the no OS info)
then in the device unlocked and no trusted screen press 3 seconds to boot into erecovery mode--->download latest version and recovery then it should work
