Hi,
First a small warning: I'm quite the noob when it comes to these things, so if the problem actually has an easy and logical fix, my bad!
Since updating my unbranded, unrooted Galaxy S5 yesterday, I've got a massive battery drain. Before the update, the battery would make it up to 60 hours with moderate use. Since updating to G900FXXU1ANG8 though, It's been draining about 10%/hour. Is this a common problem with the new update? (Tried to google it, but didn't find anything about battery drain) Is there anything I could do? Or perhaps set it back to the previous firmware? Also I have the finger scanner unlock activated (which has also been updated), but I'm guessing that's not the problem.
Details:
Unbranded unrooted Galaxy S5
Model: SM-G900F
4.4.2 KitKat
Firmware: G900FXXU1ANG8
Do correct me if I did anything wrong!
Thanks in advance.

It is always recommended to do a data factory reset after an upgrade to start fresh and get rid of old files. I would try that if i we`re you and see if that helps.
I have read some reports about bad battery life with Lollipop. Is this true?
KitKat has nicer system UI regarding the use of E-ink screen because KitKat menus, settings etc. use darker backgrounds than Lollipop. That looks better on E-ink on black YotaPhone 2.
What are your thoughts on KitKat vs Lollipop with YotaPhone 2?
I also read some reports about Wifi issues with Lollipop but maybe they were relating to wrong radio being flashed, I don't know.

Your post just crossed mine (http://forum.xda-developers.com/yotaphone-one/general/battery-life-ru-134-firmware-using-app-t3490355) but for me battery life on Lollipop is great and I have no WiFi issues. The latest RU firmware also has the september 2016 security update. For me it is Lollipop all the way.
Where did you download the latest RU firmware?
In here:
ftp://fw.ydevices.com/YotaPhone2/Firmwares/RU/
The latest is 5.0.0-RU1.1.124.zip
Where to find 134?

134 is indeed not yet up on the FTP site but if you flash your phone to the 124 version using YotaFlasher it will then update itself to 134 using OTA.
I hate lollipop myself and going to flash back to KitKat toninght.

Why? What problems do you have?
I've noticed my phone got laggy after 3 months or so on Lolopop, but I never used KK.

I decided to go back KK but i could't find the stock firmwares for Turkey. Yes i can use RU or EU firmware but i am not sure for finding the right baseband for me. Any idea will be appreciated?

Both will work. Baseband is not a firmware thing.
Am going to downgrade from Marshmallow to Kitkat.
There are issues such as more battery drain than its supposed to be, phone overheats too much (never happened on kitkat before) and Marshmallow's white theme makes me sick as there is no option to change it to dark so it doesn't really fit in Yotaphone 2 unless you have white version which is pretty rare one. YotaStore apps arent compatibile with MM 6.0.1 so..
There are new things that are improved or added but still wont use it

I have used mine with Nova launcher which allows you to make dark theme. But I am still going to do the same for especially overheating problem. Indeed i've faced lots of problems with MM:
- Overheating on almost every situation including EPD reading/browsing/maps etc.
- if (esp. extreme) YotaEnergy is activated, Mobile Network is killed/blocked until restart the phone. Disabling YotaEnergy again doesn't solve the problem
- EPD screen lock insensibility randomly
- very restricted settings on MM
- etc.
Update1:
I have installed KK (4.4.3-S01-003-RU1.0.3.61a). Findings:
- battery seems a little bit ok compared MM
- overheating problem is same i think
- EPD screen resolution is awfull
- As known, all apps are outdated
- KK interface is also offensive compared with my old KitKat installed Optimus G Pro
So, i have to try Lollipop
Update2:
I have finally installed LP (5.0.0-RU1.1.134 ). It is ok:
- battery is optimum, there is no drain and stable
- no unexpected overheating, it is ok!
- EPD screen resolution is good
- I wish i could launch the color screen directly from EPD screen like on MM shortcut. For EPD, MM is better.
Unfortunately even after downgrading to kitkat then update to lollipop (RU or EU) I still get the overheating issues
Before upgrading to MM it was fine, but from that point it began to overheat and I can't get it to stay cool again.

You are right! After a few week trying, heating problem seems same. Because of that i have decreased CPU clock Frequency to 1267MHz+conservative. The heating problem decreases nearly fifty fifty.

For every android version I see people complain about battery, performance and other things. That kind of reports are so common. In my opinion Nougat is the best Android version so far and on powerful device like Galaxy S7 Edge ( I bought it 3 months ago) it works FLAWLESSLY. Battery is really good phone is so fast and Samsung Experience ( Touch Wiz) is beautiful.
C9000 C9 Pro Nougat C9000ZHU1BQL3 has many issues since i have updated C9 pro Marshmallow to Nougat I'm getting too many issues Fingerprint is very slow brightness issue screen flickering and and sound issue when i connect my mobile to speakers so sounds is very low i also tried to increase sound in setting but its slow fast charging only working when i use original cable in a Marshmallow fast charging works on every cable if we compare Nougat to Marshmallow so Marshmallow had not these types of issues I'm going to downgrade on Marshmallow
Yes same here many bug's in it ? I'm waiting for new software update
These issues was in Indian firmware too and also in Hong Kong firmware I am using C9000ZHU1AQG2 marshmallow because of this ?
I was getting same issues M rom better than N rom
After update to N. my fingerprint speed increased and work perfectly !
I think c9 pro camera can be better with software update apps like (b612 or retrica ...) take pictures better than samsung camera
Everything is true all of your points are right ?? don't know what's Samsung C9 pro community doing with us ?? there are android Oreo released and rolling out for 4 gb 6 gb ram mobiles and we are just getting issues bug's in Nougat and that too much after that time we got the Nougat software update ?
C9 Pro will get android oreo with galaxy s8
The combination of Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro with Android O would be a great one. Latest Android is equipped with many latest features some of which are
Improvements in connectivity
.Better security and feature enhancements
.The Picture in Picture mode
.Webview improvements
.New Keyboard features
.More adaptive icons
.Better gesture control.
Just wait for release it !
Neither nougat is perfect nor Oreo will be perfect for c9 pro like too many bugs are in nougat this time, so this is a difference between Samsung local devices and Samsung famous devices, although from Galaxy note 5 and S6 to Note 8 Nougat firmware is perfect everything works good sound, brightness, screen resolution, fingerprint, fast-charging etc everything works perfect, the Nougat was released in 22 August 2016 for devices but Samsung community made a nougat firmware for c9 pro in December 2017 with the too many bug's and the Oreo was released in 21 august 2017 and we are still waiting for it everyone is using oreo ?? and we are just using Marshmallow to avoid the Nougat bug's ? like this everyone using official twrp for their mobiles and twrp works fine for their mobiles, and we are still getting error issues in twrp mount data failed backup rom failed restore rom failed WTF ?? now I will consider to sale out C9 ?
Am i right @travis82

twrp is perfect here, just format data to remove encryption that go's for ALL samsung devices. Myself and AL been testing a rom and kernel i did and get 10hrs sot so I'd keep it. Fast charge and fingerprint are working on my kernel too.
Decision is yours mate.

I flashed the rom then flashed the twrp which u have updated then i have formated data twice then flash supersu even then mount data didn't work then i wanted to make backup of my rom at the time of end 100 % it said backup failed mount data also didn't work if we can't make backup so also we can't restore backup because of backup failed, now we talk about your N rom which you have ported from indian rom C900F i flashed it 3 times every time its drained the battery when i restart me my mobile its drain the battery 10% means 100 to 90 and 90 to 80 in every restart its drain 10% fingerprint works fine but its also shows Screen Flickering like HK stock N i mean brightness issue and if we compare sound volume Booster so Marshmallow rom sound is too high when i connect to my mobile to speakers or earphones etc and N rom volume is too slow and like this this time I'm using Marshmallow rom and i put the other cable in fast charger so its getting charge fast like we use original cable i mean we can use every cable to fast charging in Marshmallow but in Nougat rom if we want fast-charging so we have to put original cable i like Nougat features but because of these issues bug's I'm using Marshmallow rom my friends has Samsung mobiles like s6 edge s8 note series etc they use Nougat rom in their mobiles they doesn't have these types of issues but in C9 pro has these issues ?? i can bear screen Flickering issue fingerprint slow issue but i can't bear slow sound issue i want sound like Marshmallow in nougat because i listen songs in speakers by my mobile and also i can't bear fast-charging issue because i didn't use original cable because its too small i use other cable ??
@travis82 is there any way to boost volume i mean to boost earphones or external speakers volume..? Can we take Any sound/volume file from Marshmallow and replace it in nougat rom..? Or what about mixer_path.xml ..? I want to boost external speakers sound..?
Screen flickering
Screen flickering started after the update.... It's hardware issue... I guess... After rolling back still persist.

I downgraded too but screen still flickers...?
hey god ! the time was good with nokia.... just incomming and outgoing !!!
Hi. I noticed few days ago that my screee flickers when is on minimum brightes and because I use the phone as e-book that is a big problem. I'm more worried if it's a hardware or software problem. I soooo hope is software. Any development or info about it...? Fix? So far the only problem with the update.

I'm also having problems that i didnt have before the update. For example, sometimes the refresh rate of screen suddenly drops from 60 Hz to about 30 Hz when doing basic tasks like navigating the system ui. Another one is when the sound and video on screen loose sync, and the only fix is to restart the phone. Moreover, out of the blue, the phones many phone calls. As a result, ill have to clean the cache of the phone app before using it again. Finally, I was hoping that the camera software got enhanced. Low light are just………bad, very bad. Low light shots are grainy af. In addition, even in normal light, like in a cafe or inside a house, the image quality deteriorates quickly. This is why i want to replace it with the honor 10 especially if the oreo update is far away or not happening. What do you think?
C9 Pro Oreo Update Issue.
Hi,
I have C9 Pro Hong Kong version, yesterday I was checking for software update and I was happy to see that Oreo update build number:C9000ZHU1CRG9 was available so I updated my C9 Pro.But since than I am facing issues as many applications like Twitter, LinkedIn,Email, Messages etc are not working whenever I open these applications error message and application stops.
I am wondering when I contacted to Samsung Agent in Hong Kong via Samsung contact live chat he told me that Samsung Hong Kong still have Nougat for C9 Pro so I am astonished that how this update arrived for my mobile when official is saying that no update yet is available for C9 Pro.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Regards,
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Just download the oreo firmware from sammobile.com then flash it by odin every problem will be solve, what you are talking about, you updated oreo by WiFi so that's why u are facing these problems..
I live in United States and saw that my C9000 was trying to install the Oreo update.
SM-C9000 Pro
Hello Guys,
Well, I wanna downgrade my OS on my S8 Plus. Why? Battery life sucks. I have the latest update and it still drains my battery like hell... I get SOT of 3/4h at best... sometimes 5h but depends alote!
Im a heavy user and ye, Im coming from a Mate 10 Pro and I do regred it because of the battery life (only that was stronger on the Huawei). Since I don´t own money to go to the P20 Pro, I have to stay on the S8 Plus.
I already have the correct Firmeware and I know how to use ODIN.
But, when I try to flash it, it gives me error (not a specific one) just a error saying fail... and doens´t do anything.
When I bought the phone, it came with a dumb version of a country and he even hadn´t any update since July 2017. So I changed the ROM to my country ofc with no problems at all using ODIN. Now getting to downgrade part... I just can´t, always saying fail.
What Im doing wrong or is something missing?!
I did compare the firmeware and it is for my model/version!
From what I read, the new OS doesn´t let me downgrade as security messure, so guys HOW do I downgrade STEP by STEP?
I spended alote time on Youtube/Google and 0 luck or sucess... !
I do miss my SOT of 6/7h on the 7.0 of the S8 Plus!
