Is there a file limitation on the SDcard?
Since I flashed the new Stock ROM, 3 to 5 minutes after booting the device, I get the message, that 'android.process.media' has stopped.
My guess is, that this process is looking for media files on the sdcard, and has a problem with my 40'000 .jpgs there.
Same, if I try to open the Album application, it starts scanning the sdcard for files, then Android closes the process 'com.htc.album' ...
This worked with the original shipping release, as the 40'000 .jpg files where already there ...
Is there a limitation in number of files (.jpg, .mp3, ...) or is it just a memory problem?
Hello,
Since this morning my phone doesn't see any media files. My sdcard is mounted and I can see all the files inside with a file manager. But when I open a media player it is telling me that there are no media files. Also in the ringtone menu I cannot see my custom ringtones which showed up fine until this morning. The same thing is happening in the gallery - no photos.
I tried restarting the phone - nothing happens. I have a program called rescan media, used it but still nothing. A have a nandroid backup from a week ago - I restored the backup, went into the default media player that comes with the stock rom, my albums were there, and then 2 minutes later i checked again - no music found. If I take a new picture with the camera and go to gallery I see only that new picture without my older ones, after a media rescan even this new photo disappears.

Click to collapse
Check to see if you have a folder named ".nomedia" in your sdcard - this is used to control if a directory and it's subdirectories are visible in the media player.
Same for me,
Gallery dont found anything, but filemanager see everithing
I tried to change the SD, to un/reinstall gallery, update my CM7 rom, wipe cache but alwaysthe same problem...
When I use filemanager to open a picture, gallery load it in about 8seconds but cant see the other pics
Yes I had this .nomedia file in the root folder of my sdcard. I've read about this file and I know that it does that. But the most strange thing is I didn't create it It is dated from yesterday at 00:23. This has to be the work of some app.
Thank you for the help the problem is solved. And greetings from Bulgaria.
Unmount and mount again in the setting and hope it solve ur problem
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
thanks a lot
I un/re mounted SD in settings, and remouved the .nomedia file on sd root (don't know who created it....)
and my pictures are came back
thanks
Used minimal adb. In recovery with mtp disabled I Pulled /sdcard/TWRP TWRP I had one backup and it successfully pulled because it took like 10 minutes and I watched it progress with zero errors. But I can't find the pulled files in the folder where I had the minimal adb installed. I also have 'show hidden files' on. How can I find the files in Windows 10? Is there something similar to 'disk usage' app but for PC like a file finder. The whole folder size in properties is 3.7 mb so I don't think it's there.
Hi... There is a buit-in file search in Windows 10...
I used a nice app on an older laptop which was faster than built-in windows 7 search, but i don't feel like it's usefull anymore on the new one which has a fast SSD... I give you a link if you want to try it though:
http://voidtools.com/
There's a portable version if you just want to try it...
Cheers...
Follow up to my problem of the macOS mojave inspired stock dynamic wallpaper not working, I used file explorer in ADB tools to browse system folder and there is only a 3.5MB video there for dynamic wallpaper. The other 10 video files that correspond to different time of day are missing so I'm assuming that's why it doesn't work. You can find those files from Mi9 online. Obviously I can't copy them back because my phone isn't rooted. It's really dumb the ROM is incomplete like this.
To check you can use ADB/fastboot tools and browse to system->media->dynamic video
also wondering where they are?
hello guys how to install clockskin on smart watch android 8.1 i try to copy watchskin but its doesnt show on the watch please help. the watch is from china
You must install Universal Launcher then build an folder on your smartwatch root named clockskin you get clocksins out of the net for free as Archive these archives you extract to the clockskin folder on your phone root when your phone ask you what launcher should be used click watchclockskin launcher every time
Then set all settings in clockskin launcher and now when you hold the display for 2-3 seconds you can swipe left and right to set a skin then one click on display set the skin.
