Hey Guys!! Yesterday i tried to root my Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (PRA LX2C636B160)
What i do
*Unlock the PHONE
*Flash the TWRP (i get on sir Haky86 posts)
*Backup my Firmware in TWRP (But theres an error 255 when backing up the data, so i deselect the data on backup)
*Flash SUPERSU for EMUI 5.0
*Then when i reboot. I cant See any google apps in my app drawer. The "Google Play and Play services was only there then when i tried to log in my gmail the play store force close"
I think the reason why my google apps deleted is because when i unlock my Bootloader it automatic Factory Reset.
* Then i tried to flash Open GAPPS in TWRP but still no Google Apps
*So i tried to do a Factory Reset.
*After factory Reset. my phone was not booting stuck on boot logo.
*I tried to Restore my Backup but still stuck on boot logo
So what i did to resolve this issue
*Download PRA-LX2C636B123 firmware.
-Extract Using huaweiupdate extractor
-Factory reset in TWRP
-Flash Cust,System,Boot. ,Recovery in Fastboot
-Factory reset
-Restore Backup (Except Data)
-Factory reset
- Finally Its booting but i noticed that the bootanimation was changed. it only shows android not huawei
BUT HERE IS THE ISSUE T_T
*I cant Access to my CAMERA and cant Play any Audio. Loudspeaker or Earphones.
im a musician and i love music T_T

This is what I did when I bricked mine right after messing with my phone, rooting it and flashing TWRP the first time.
I also found the firmware off of a chinese site (not sure if it had malware on it though) but it seemed to work fine. In the process, i got B120 from that site.
Anyways, got bored with B120 after a while, and saw B160, experimented with the system update but can't do the update from that app, then I did a Kamikaze move and tried flashing through TWRP one of the files downloaded by the system update app, and it worked! It's how I ended up with B160.
However, after I did the update (of course, I wiped /cache and /dalvik-cache), I had a few bugs myself. Phone stuttered, apps crashed, sometimes the phone freezes entirely. I went back to TWRP, did a few wipes of the dalvik-cache and cache again, but ended up with errors on the cache wipe/fix filesystem/format options. Rebooted to Huawei system, and rebooted to TWRP and repeated the process of cache wipes, and then it finally worked! I don't understand why TWRP gave me errors on the cache wipe, but after a few reboots to system and TWRP, it seemed to work. Now, I have a fully functioning system.

Sorry buddy, but I don't remember where I got it from. I just used Google search back then, searched for ROM PRA-LX2.
All I did was dowload the file, extracted the zip, and forced the files into the phone by adb.

I'm new so please forgive me and my ignorance through all of this. I had a great root experience with my old LG G3, so when I got my Axon 7 (A2017U) I thought I'd try to root it too. I tried to follow DrakenFX's guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/wip-axon-7-root-bootloader-unlokced-t3441204) but I bit off more than I could chew. I got to the point where I had TWRP up, but this is where I think things started to fall apart. I was confused by the instructions and in a haste I continued anyway. In TWRP I went to Wipe>Format Data typed in yes like TWRP said and boom, I had no idea what happened. Rebooting only got a screen that said "Type in your password" but my passcode I had on the phone before it bricked didn't work. So by now I start panicking a bit. I thought I made a mistake earlier so I went back and tried to reinstall TWRP by putting the phone into EDL. The phone got stuck that way for a while, but I now I have it in TWRP. Right now, I just want to get back to safe stock android.
I'm 200% sure I messed with something I wasn't supposed to and I believe that is the system image(?)which Draken also linked (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68248798&postcount=53). I'm downloading it as I type. I'm going to do my best to leave my phone just like it is right now, in TWRP, and wait for more advice on this before I do anything else.. What I'm curious about is where did I go wrong and what do I need to do to get my phone working again, preferably without returning it? Thank you for any advice you have to offer.
Update: It's worth noting I didn't know to enable OEM Unlocking when I was in stock android. Dumb move I know. I'm new here.

I've done the wipes multiple times. It's mostly the downloads I'm having trouble with. How and where do you get them? The links I found were dead or had a slow speed.

no no no no ..................... put phone in EDL mode. Copy the stock image into the folder with the axon7root.exe file you used to flash TWRP. Make sure the stock file is named recovery.img (or whatever the TWRP file is named in that folder, it has been a long time since I did this). Then use the axon7root.exe program the exact same way you did before. It will flash the stock recovery. Then in stock recovery you can flash the B20 from ZTE

ok - download it from zte. Put it on your SD card. In recovery select update from SD card. Be warned it will work but it is slow. Also note that while I will not say the bootloader unlock doesn't work on B29, I can say it worked flawlessly on B20. If you want unlocked I recommend doing so on B20.

Maybe - I'd have to download it to find out. If you can't get stock recovery to take it this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69434328&postcount=17 gives you instructions on what lines to remove from the updater-script to make it flash in TWRP (I didn't have a problem making the stock B20 go in stock recovery, but I was unlocked at the time). You could reflash TWRP and try that.
Or just try this in TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68873482&postcount=2

I'm going to try the first option. The second option's link take horrendously long to download.
Update: Trying to flash from TWRP results in error "Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' which makes no sense since update binary is exactly where it should be.
Further Update: It seems that the problem might have been that when I compressed "update.zip" to fix "updater-script" it changed to file path by adding the title of the folder "update" to the beginning. I think that messed with the path giving the the meta-inf error.

Yes followed the steps one by one...
Edit: One thing worth mentioning is that I used the update_data.zip from the russian link, when I orignally installed Nougat this was the only file that worked for me.
Edit2: Redid the steps but used the update_data-zip posted by Sillanwali in his thread to update to nougat C432B560 but I get "Error: 7....."
After the step 4, I preconize to reboot the recovery. It's advised after a "Format data".

Make sure you are running unmodified stock firmware. As method above only patch boot img and push superuser files. Do not install decrypted boot img. It need untouched stock boot .
Once you completed the steps and reboot to system. It will normally bootloop twice then you will stuck at huawei logo about 3-5mins.

It's just not working for me. I was on stock firmware, only unlocked bootloader, I did not install decrypted boot.img.
I left the phone for roughly about 15 min (one Fifa game) in screen, it doesn't get past Huawei logo and I haven't seen it reboot.
Edit: What about the update_full_hw.zip is that not needed after formating data?
Edit2: Tried again but these time rebooting into recovery after formating data as suggested by @franzyroy but it didn't make a difference still bootloop

Working like a charm!! Thanks dexz!
Soo this time, I need some help. My mother owns an Gplay mini and because any stock way to update it was failing, I unlocked her bootloader and tried to flash the newest B596 from the general section. Flashing boot and recovery went fine, but system and cust just fails Everytime with an unknown error.
I can't boot anymore because I have the B596 boot image flashed. TWRP also didn't. It just wouldn't boot into the recovery and stay at the Huawei logo.
I know this is P8 Lite Section, but most G Play/Honor 4c users lurk around here because the honor 4c forums seems dead.

Can you flash TWRP on it? Or there is no TWRP for this device?
EDIT: I read, so no TWRP, I guess.

Well, I found an old OTA and I was able to use the recovery and boot inside to boot back into my system. At this moment it's flashing an update. Cust is already written and system seems to works as well. I think I fixed my mistake. I tried to flash from 4.4. directly to 6.0. I will report back if I can get what I want.

Hey man thanks that you tried to help me. I'm fine now. I flashed an old recovery from an OTA I found. Then I was able to use force update to install an UPDATE.APP I had on my SD Card. Tbh I don't even know what exact version it was, turns out it was Honor 4c B570 Europe region. Im just glad that I do not need to tell my mother that I broke her phone. Her phone is now rocking the newest P8 Lite Firmware. After I booted into Marshmallow, I was able to install TWRP and it all went fine.

I've got my February ota. I removed magisk root via unistall in the app but I can't install the update.
Does anyone know how to make it work?
Thanks
Had same problem. Flashing with mi flash january firmware using the clean All and lock option Solved It. On the other hand you are going to loose camera2api.

Tried 3 times and failed every time
Not yet received the Feb 19 update !
Can you sent ota capture link?
I just updated to Feb patch. I followed the Magisk guide and the install worked perfectly. https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tutorials.md#ota-installation
The January update made my phone slow and stutter at times and there as a very big battery drain. This had never happened to me for any update before. I am happy to say that the Feb update has made my phone fast again. I will check battery usage after a full charge tonight.
Same to me. I tried many times and it still fail to install the update. Now i can't install magisk 18.1 either.
Same problem here.
I'm on stock 10.0.4.0 Rom.
Uninstalled Magisk and even installed original boot.img from unzipped Stock.zip via hotbooted TWRP.
But installation still fails.
Any Ideas?
I really would like to avoid a full wipe with MiFlashtool

A full wipe is necessary, you allowed on twrp modifications on system, for safety, take a backup and a full wipe

I agree. I always do and work well.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
But one more (noob)question:
Someone uploaded the Feb Update as ".zip"file (271 MB) in the [Fastboot][OTA] thread.
Is it installable like a ROM Dirtyflash? In other words just flash it via fastboot boot twrp.img --> Install --> xxxx.zip?

Flash system.img and boot.img only. Absolutely no need for full reflash or data wipe.
There is a high chance that you have some app which mounts system as R/W, so you'll have the same issues with next OTA update again.

Not true. It is enough to reflash system.img and boot.img only. OTA update engine checks only these two partitions for modifications.

Me too, can anyone help me with the stock boot.img of the february ota?
I got a February update (Serbia).
There are no visible changes, but I have the impression that the system is more stable and faster. some of the things I had this morning did not report a microphone error.
Whether Xiaomi corrected it or it was just my impression.
I would like to hear other people who have updated the update
My phone was not routed and it was on stock 10.0.4.0 and now it's 10.0.5.0 version

Thank you! I will try it next time.
I went for the MiFlash CleanAll solution. Which, of course, works without a problem.
Can I block the automatic download of updates?, I have limited data and don't like them forced on me. (I liked oreo a lot more than pie).

You should be able to flash 9.0 through Odin without wiping, just use the home_csc file. Although it's always advised to do a wipe when updating versions.
After that, flash twrp and magisk then you have root.

during the flashing of twrp you will have to format device so a reset is needed to flash twrp and root.
