Hello everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 [SM-900] and I remember waking up and noticing that it was off. I tried to power it on, it reaches the screen in which it says the device's name and its model (Samsung galaxy note..etc). However, it shuts down after that. I tried to wipe and factory reset my data and install a fresh rom using Odin but the outcome won't change.
Is it a hardware problem or what? Please help me.
EDIT: Now I got it working but now I get the not registered on network error
Check your IMEI is correct first .
If wrong restore your backed up EFS folder .

I think it's not.. it starts with 0049 or sth. Moreover, I think I f***ed up things without backing up the EFS... I didn't see this problem coming up
Search and read multiple EFS IMEI Posts. Some fix by flashing modem others need service repair .

Do you see your IMEI number if you type *#06#?
Did you backup your EFS folder? It may have gotten corrupted somehow.
Yes i see it, it starts by "0049.....". It's strange, because my IMEI number in the galaxy S4 box aren't the same. In the box, the IMEI number start by "357....".
For my EFS folder, i don't have a backup :s

Oh dear, your phone has had it. You have a corrupt IMEI number.
This recently happened to my Galaxy S3 (IMEI also changed to 0049...) and after days of various members of XDA trying to help there is NOTHING you can do to fix it if you haven't backed up your EFS folder.
Go back to stock and send it off for repair. Mine is back at Samsung as we speak
Lesson learnt - ALWAYS backup your EFS folder!!!

hi my friends, i hope you could help me with this, im having a strange problem,i bought a note 3 n900 second handed with this problem, it has imei null and baseband unknokn, i sended it to repair store but they solve half of the problem since now it shows the correct baseband but still imei null, is there anyway i can fix this ? (see attachments)
i must add that since i bought it had that imei null thing, so i have no efs backup, anyway i saved its EFS folder backup when i first started to mess with it, but when i try to restore that EFS the problem persist. I think maybe the efs folder was already corrupted when i bought it.
thanks any ideas would be appreciated.
they just flashed the right baseband maybe but there is a problem with the radio chip. it's just a tablet and there is no legal way to recover your imei i am afraid (other methods involve using an unlock box).
You got any solution

Thanks for response. Can i recover from memory card? When i installed custom rom, it will backup efs automatically. Which recovery is best? Dr.ketan...voilla...etc. I didn't understand. What is that?
Custom roms do not back up EFS.

I am afraid your efs partition and imei is lost you should have a backup from twrp.
If you take my advice just go to any repair shop and they will write a new certificate files using a box called "dongle" it will cost you less then 10$ i guess without this box its not possible to get your imei back so dont waste your time and dont flash files you dont know because your 200$ device may end up hard brick and completely useless.

I didn't back it up and now give my phone for repair but in Pakistan there is no skilled and experienced technician.
They even don't know what had happened to the fone.
How can I recover "UNKNOWN" and "NULL/NULL" Base Band & IMEI on Note3 SM-N900A
I sold a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A to someone online. The LCD was bad so I did a hard reset of the phone but forgot to remove my google account. The person who bought the phone installed a new LCD but was locked out. So instead of contacting me to help, they decided to try and root the phone. but they did not back up any files and erased the EFS file and lost the IMEI number and Base Band. This person then returned the phone back to me claiming it doesn't work and they removed the LCD possibly so I couldn't see what they did. I purchased a new LCD so I could refurbish it but once I turned it on it powered up and showed me a pad lock unlocked logo underneath it said custom. after it loaded in the settings under about device I noticed base band saying UNKNOWN, IMEI was also saying UNKNOWN so I dialed *#06# and that said "null/null" I used Odin and the 4.4.2 stock rom to flash the firmware everything went smooth and no more padlock saying custom.... however the imei and base band are still saying UNKNOWN. any help to get this back on track so I can use it would be great. I am not a noob but I am also no expert so please provide instruction if you can assist me. thank you in advance...!!!
Google search ? Xda search ?
Step one restore your backed up EFS folder.
Baseband flash via Odin. See multiple identical posts .

there are no EFS files to restore from. I don't think the phone was rooted I think it was just a custom ROM installed but they didn't back anything up. I have never rooted or jailbroken a phone I used Odin twice. once to flash a G-s2 and to install the OEM firmware for this phone. I need to know the process on how to restore the lost IMEI and baseband These steps I don't know where to start. I see people fixing this problem but do not see clear instructions to follow. I am good at fixing computer hardware and software but phone repair I am new to.
Lost IMEI service center repair .
Baseband see thread in General section .

Where did you get 4.4.2 since AT&T never released a full Odin firmware flash.
The AT&T note 3 forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att
My imei & baseband went missing after installing a rom. Now i have no mobile network
Hello everyone Happy Holidays i know all us get some kind of technical issue now and then and as far as im concern this isnt the first time someone else has a problem identical to mine which is having a missing imei and baseband resulting in my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 T Mobile popping up a message saying "no mobile network" everytime i try to make a call due to me flashing a new rom. So i dont think there will be a problem if anybody who knows enough about this subject answers how they were able to solve this problem they had.

Usually a result of corrupted efs folder. You just need to restore this folder from a previous backup and you should be good to go.
You should always, always, always, ALWAYS backup your efs folder no matter what device you have. It's a very improbable thing to happen to get this error, but when it does happen it's a pain to get it back and running without a backup of the efs data.
If you do not have this backed up, the only suggestion would be to take it to a repair center if available.

I really appreciate you being a good fellow and trying to help me out but i already solved the problem my installing a new rom. I did restore my Efs back up with Twrp by the way but that didnt help the only thing left was to use octoplus but i found another way around it ?
Just be careful, I used to own a Galaxy Note 1 and it would temporarly fix my problem just flashing stock, but after a few days it went bad again. I never was able to fix it so I gave it to my little sister as a tablet lol
