my op3 always used the O2 carrier which my Op5 can't seem to find. only the local roaming partner eplus is listed. does anyone else get O2 ?
I'm using o2 - de but sometimes the phone toggles between o2 and E-Plus

Are you able to find o2, when searching for networks? I also got only e-plus in the search results until now. Maybe there is a problem like Vodafone in the Netherlands.
The new O2 network uses the old MCC/MNC from eplus. So it's correct when OP5 shows eplus.
Seit der Zusammenlegung von Eplus und O2 verwendet O2 die alte Netzkennung von eplus. Passt also, weil Oneplus in es in seiner Firmware noch nicht korrigiert hat.

Ok, thanx for the clarification.
There are some 'old' cells which sent out the old O2 ID, so you get an O2 at some places. But they are going to change them all to the Eplus ID in the near future.

NEVER.
The Epic is a CDMA. To go over seas, they will have to make a GSM version which is doubtful.
If I was over seas... I'd be a saaad Panda right now.
Dont say never. If a carrier wants it or if their is enough demand for one from a consumer, Samsung will make it. Try emailing Samsung Germany about it.
I know from a good source (big online Handy Store in Germany, which already know something about the x1 before it was out) told me the epic 4g is sprint exclusive but it will follow a 3g version named "Samsung Galaxy S pro"

Hi everyone,
Currently I'm carrying daily 2 phones (work & private) with me and I want to merge them to one.
What do I have to do to get a dual Sim version working of the S7 edge for Germany? Thanks

What or who would stop me from buying a dual sim version abroad and plugging two sim cards in it?
Du kanns jede S7 version in De benutzen!
You can use all s7 variants in germany as a dualsim phone.
as far as i know all s7 variants in germany do have a sim slot together with another slot for the microsdcard or the second sim.
so that means if you use your s7 as a dualsim phone you will not be able to use a microsdcard like on tha Galaxy A8
press thx
I think you are right. The necessary hardware is there, but for Germany it won't work. So far nobody knows exactly how it's restricted, through CPU or from the software side. For USA it looks that dual Sim is possible.

Hi. I have a similar question. I want to buy an S7 edge. I work in a cruise ship and I can get a great deal in Singapore, which will be the 935FD model, with a pay-as-you-go Singapore SIM. When I get home to the UK, will I be able to use the second SIM slot with my (Vodafone) UK SIM?

It is said there is a regiolock in different regional versions of the S7 but I never heard of somebody really facing this problem.
The news I found is only about a regiolock of European devices.
http://www.androidheadlines.com/2016/03/galaxy-s7-galaxy-s7-edge-region-locked-in-europe.html
The regiolock will be deactivated if the device is used in the region it was sold with a simcard from this region - one should make a call of at least 5 minutes to get rid of the lock.
I bought myself a 935FD on Ebay from a seller in Hong Kong (using a warehouse in the UK) No regiolock at all.

I can't post links because of my post count but if you put the imgurl url followed by /rMIgUcm it should work.
it says unknown but I'm guessing that's because I've never used the sim before? I literally just opened it, it was a £1 pay as u go sim i got from town a while back. It says only 1 sim can use 4g also hence it being 2g.

Hi Maroc. Do you by any chance have the address of the Hong Kong dealer? I'm going there as well, and prices are cheaper than in Singapore. Thanks.

I've been researching this a bit more and I realise I don't really understand the differences. In the UK, my network is Three Mobile (owned by Hutchinson Telecoms) and it operates on 2100MHz (for 3G) and 800MHz and 1800MHz for 4G/LTE. With all the different variants of the S7 edge, is frequency the only difference? If so, do I only need to worry about the operating frequencies of the handset? I understand there might be a regiolock problem as well, but as long as I use the phone for 5 minutes in the country of origin (with a SIM bought in that country) then this won't be a problem? Specifically, could I source a 935FD in Hong Kong and use it there And in the UK? Or do they ONLY sell the Hong Kong variant there? I've looked at http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/ which gives a lot of tech info, but I'm still none the wiser regarding specifics of the S7.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. I'm about to buy a 935FD from Taiwan. Will I also need to flash a BTU CSC in order to use this in the UK? If so, are there any shortcuts or all-in-one toolkits that I can use to do this for me? I was fine flashing ROMs on my old rooted HTC, but I've never used Odin before to flash a Samsung.

From my experience, download the latest BTU firmware. Flash the BL, CP,AP and CSC should be fine.

Hi. I have mate 8 chineese version. Working in 4g in uk but 90% time i have only 3g. 4g mode enable. Anyone have similar problem?
Which provider you are using?
http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/
If you have the china version - there is no 800MHz (Band 20)
So if your provider uses this Band you can't connect.
I'm in three uk. My huawei have 4G: FDD-LTE: B1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26
TDD-LTE: B38/B39/B40/B41. So everything should be alright. Sometimes outside building catch 4g

i just found out my phone is actually a x820 and not a x829.
some custom roms report a different/wrong model. thats why i created this thread.
i'm trying to collect what the real difference between all the le max 2 variants is. please help me to add information, share your knowledge and findings and correct me if i'm wrong.
remember, this is a work in progress.
so far:
hardware seems to be the same beside the amount of ram and rom. it could be a difference in the radio hardware for at least the x829 devices, not verified yet.
shops sometimes list different specs for the same variant, so tread with caution.
some sellers even advertise the le max 2 with nfc wich it undoubtfully has not.
you can turn missing bands on in dfs tool but the phone wont connect to that bands.
it's still unsure if it can be done or if the radio hardware is different.
please report:
- phone variant printed on the backside sticker (x829 only) or on the box
- ram/rom/colour
- band 20 marked in dfs tool (screenshots welcome but cut out your imei etc.)
- band 20 working in real life. (how to test?)
- band 20 activated with dfs tool and working/not working.
- ... tell me what else.

i believe it is not used by any carrier here in germany yet but maybe in 2018 some will use that band, not sure if it's true.
band 20 is definately in use here in germany. it's used for longer distance, if you live away from bigger cities.

I refuse to believe, unless we shed some light on it.
Would you be so kind to post pictures of box and lower back side of the phone?
Interesting thread!
I order myself a x829 allthough we live in Spain .
For what I have been reading in other threads the difference indeed might be in the 4G bands , the x829 not having the 20 band since it is not used in US ( as such x829 would be for US market)
The main question thus would be if it is just a matter of software enable/disable (which could be arranged with DFS) or is there really a hardware difference...
Will post findings once I get phone
