NEWS US I9300 can be used on T mobile 3g NOW

Maybe some of you already knew, but I just found out today. Changed to CMDA network mode just 10 mins ago, connected to 3g H or H+, speed up to 12000kbps, thank you Tmobile.

Just a few things.
1- Are you referring to the UK version of this device or an American Version as if you are on about the American Version then this post is in the wrong section. (Sorry if you are on about the UK Version)
2- Not sure about your device but in my Network Mode I have only got 3 options. GSM/WCDMA(Auto mode), GSM only, WCDMA only.
So don't have an CMDA or CDMA section.
Please clarify.

1. I dont know which version, I preordered it on Newegg.com. it says GT-I9300
2. I choose WCDMA for 3G, the last one.
I got no 3G before, I just tried it today and it connected to 3G, before it was like "no services"

Could I make a suggestion that you Change your Thread Title to maybe say U.S only as here in the uk we have 3G on T-Mobile.

you can get unlimited 4g for the Intl S3 in the usa with NET10, don't waste your time with t-mobile and their funky 1700 band

Why Mate 8 NXT-AL10 doesn't use (display) 4G+ logo in France ?

Hello,
I have a friend who has the Mate 8 in version 64Go/3Go with and model NXT-AL10.
He has setuped his phone for France ie DL play store, and change some stuff but he doesn't change the rom for a NXT-L29.
So everything works but the logo "4G+" is never displayed.
He has tried all mobile phone providers : Orange, Bouygues Telecom, Free, RED.
It never happened. Always 4G but never 4G+.
When he try to benchmark the network he has a high rate for a 4G connection but never go beyond the theorical value of a 4G rate.
So he supposes that the logo and rates are 4G (he hopes having the logo 4G and the rate of 4G+ connnection but in fact No).
Do you have an idea of this issue ?

The 4G+ symbol is not used by Huawei, so don't worry.

He told me on his Mate 7 (he had just before) it was displayed 4G+.
So that why he is surprised that is doesn't work now on the Mate 8.
I suppose that is due to the rom NXT-AL10.
The chinese mobile does not try to merge frequencies 2600Mhz and 800Mhz that are the 2 frequencies used for 4G+ connection in France.
But I am not sure that is the source isssue.

On this French website about 4G+ in France the Mate 8 is said to be compatible:

I don't think there might be differences between AL10 and L29.

Yes I also found this source.
So that's why we (my friend and I) are thinking about the fact that this issue may come from the AL10 version.
In fact if someone could have a AL10 version with the 4G+ symbol.
It will be a great news.

I told him to check that if he goes in poland.

nxt-al10, [email protected] version at China Unicom operator is working greatly, So i have the 4G symbol.
Maybe it´s can be related with kind of LTE. China Unicom use FDD-LTE.

Please open Settings, go to More section and open Mobile networks,turn LTE 6 CA trigger on.

Makes no difference. There is no 4G+ icon in the framework (up to firmware 172 at least), already looked for it.

Don't waste your time, it seems that only NXT-L09 can aggregate those 2 frequencies.
It's very odd cause the official version in France is the NXT-L29.
Could a software solution be found for this issue...

On the mate 7 this kind of configuration was possible with the file "update_cust.app"
But I don't know how to do the same thing on the Mate 8.

I contacted the VMALL support to ask them which version of the Mate 8 is sold (NXT-L09 or NXT-L29).
They told me that is the L29. So I will not buy the Mate 8 because thanks to "grofock" I know that the NXT-l29 does not support 4G+ in France and doesn't support the band B28 700Mhz and is only available in 32Go.
If it was the L09 may be I should have taken it.

So do you think that the NXT-L09 will works in France with 4G+ :

However the L09 is the single SIM model, so this might be the reason of the available LTE band aggregation.
The new Huawei P9 Plus will be single SIM in Europe.

Ok but I don't understand why a mobile which is single or dual sim change anything about its band aggregation.

Mate 8 NXT-L29 is it Dual Sim Full active ?

I visited many sites like amazon.de and all of them they describe all NXT-L29 models as Dual Sim Stand by and not as Dual Sim Full Active.
Has anyone got NXT-L29 model to confirm if it Stand by only or Full Active ?
I would like also to ask if NXT-L29 supports Band 20 at 800Mhz.

I think its Full active. When I call on SIM 1 and anybody calls me on SIM 2 I can change to the SIM 2 call

Both SIMs are active for GSM or 2G. I get sms and calls on both. They have separate ring tones as well.... cool phone.
You can only choose one SIM for data and you will of course choose the one with the best speeds if you have data left

It is working like a charm in DSFA. This is the last phone of Huawei that support it. This is the reason for buying it.
I hope the mate 10 to to become DSFA because is the only reason to buy a Huawei again.

5G on Three UK

I've updated to the latest firmware that said it had added three UK 5g support. I cannot seem to connect to 5G. I have it where I live. When I put my sim in my old note 10 it connects to 5G fine.
I've turned off smart 5G as I have no clue what it does but no luck...
Any other three UK peeps with same issue?

Strange. I'm on three but don't have 5g in my area. Interesting you can't seem to get it.

I'm on three and I do get 5G.
Smart 5G disables 5G if 4G is the better options based upon signal strength, if you're planning on using 5G then leave smart on.

I use three and I will have my OnePlus tomorrow. What I should change in menu to connect with 5g network? Currently I use s10 5g and on this device 5g works flawlessly.

It should just work. Just double check in settings that 5g is enabled

5G band confusion

Hi!
I bought my Oneplus 8 pro with the launch day bundle in the US.
In the quick start guide which is included with the phone, the following 5G bands are supported n1, n3, n7, n28, n78.
However, on the US website, these bands are listed n2, n5, n41, n66, n71.
Do you have any idea which one is right or how I could test it?
I really need the EU 5G bands due to me traveling very often to Europe.
If they are not supported out of the box, is there a way how I could change it so these bands are supported?

Right now some carriers in some countries are not supported just yet. There will be an OTA later to enable the remaining bands and add 5G / 4G dual SIM support probably.
Not all the bands are being supported doesn't mean that you'll have no signal at all, more like it will not be as strong as the other phones meant for that area.

In my country it works, my n78 and my device supports n78 but 5g is not working what is the reason

It's a major issue and everyone impacted should contact Oneplus support to put pressure on them. I bought the device because it was geared up with N78 band which is used by my operator. Still 5G doesn't work. I performed a test with a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in my left hand, 5G worked just fine, and a Oneplus 8 Pro in my right hand, no connection to 5G possible. It is not acceptable for a device of this price, it should be 5G ready out of the box.

I just want to say thank you! It worked in Thailand and now I have 5G with TrueMove-H.
The only annoying part is that the latest update 10.5.8 did erase the setting and I had to redo all the steps to get back on 5G.

I couldn't get QPST to recognize my phone. Do you have any tips to make it work? I downloaded the EnigneerMode apk and activated Rndis Switch, it shows up in the device manager but no luck in the QPST application.

I had to use Serial or Full-port switch to have PDC recognize it.

You may have to add port manually to QPST. Check on Device Manager right COM-port to add. Normally your computer should recognize device automatically.
