Non-EMUI Nougat ROMs for P9 Lite? - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

I do like EMUI, it's not bad, but I really want something to get rid of that. Like an AOSP/Lineage based ROM. Are there any plans on getting one of these for P9 Lite?

There was , but the dev couldnt handle people "pushing" him. Too bad , he was the only one around here who worked with Lineage OS. Theres a 4 month old Lineage nougat build, however I am not aware of the bugs. Phones dead honestly.

Meticulus nougat roms was sdk23 (emui 4 based)

Huawei released kernel source of EMUI 4.1 for G9 (P9 lite in china), maybe will be useful to some developer. Where you saw that Olddroid started to work on p9 lite ?

donation is not for done work, but for work in progress. you can pay, and hope he will finish the work, or don't pay and be sure he won't be able to finish it.
there's always the risk he won't be able to do it, or like meticulus, stop completely because nobody reads anything.

that could take a (long) while! I think there are to less developer at the moment! And than they need many many beta versions to bring us a errorfree working version.

Someone made a start http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3307977
There are a couple of things on github, some for the p8 lite, I haven't managed to track much down. Would love CM as well.
Quite satisfied with the latest Gratitude ROM though.
I saw this post, but project seems to be dead. Can any dev confirm working on it?

Trying out ROMs

Sadly my device doesn't support Openkiring ROMs yet. So I went looking for some other ROM and found this on TEAM MT's website: KangVIP ROM
Can anyone confirm whether this works or not? If it does, is it any good, worth trying?
Openkirin supports h8. I'm literally running omnirom right now.

There's an issue with the Chinese models (AL10, AL00). That's why I can't use OpenKirin ROMs
Only with volte. Other than that, there are plenty of ppl with Chinese models in the telegram group on Kirin images. None of the devs are Chinese or have the model so they're doing what they can. Nobody wants to post logs of anything

Not just volte. ROMs don't even boot up properly on my phone, those that do don't have any cellular signal. I'm fully open to post any data or log anything they want but that won't help. They need the actual device.
On openkirin website there is honor 8 listed in supported devices. But not LO9 model. Anybody on LO9 rocking treble roms?

L09 and L19 are similar. Check the specs. I have RRos2 running in my L09. Others have also OpenKirin roms running in L09.
Hello. I am new to custom ROMs. My honor 8 (L09C432) is currently updated to oreo with an unlocked bootloader. I was hoping to use RR on my device but don't know anything about stock recovery/Ramdisk and how to install it. Can anyone please guide me in this matter!

Have someone tried out Team OpenKirin's Android 9.0 Pie AOSP ROM on Honor 8? Have you noticed any bugs? Is it usable as my daily driver?

Which are the best Pie ROMs for the Huawei P10 Lite?

Hi guys,
I wanted to try out a new ROM for my device and so, I'm asking you: which are the best ROMs for our device? I know that there are a lot of GSI and other devices compatible ROMs, but which are them? I'm afraid of flashing something uncompatible and causing bootloop, that is a bit hard to face since it's my primary and only device, and for this I'm asking you.
What I need: no great bugs (it will be my daily ROM), smooth feel (I'm kind of obsessed by things like this, call me a fool, but THAT feel is half of the beauty of a ROM imho, lol) and Pie-Based with all the gestures (maybe Google Now in the launcher, but I don't know if this is possible mantaining the gestures).
I hope I'm not asking something that is impossible and thanks in advance for everyone who will answer!
I'd recommend the openkirin RR rom, it's oreo but it's stable as hell and made for kirin chipsets.

That was on my mind, but then Pie was released and I couldn't resist to try it out and now I'd prefer not to roll back.
Do you know if OpenKirin is releasing some Pie-based ROM in the short term?

Most treble roms don't work well with Huawei devices, OpenKirin is workin on an AOSP Pie rom but it's still in early beta stages, you can find it on xda forums.
