Swipe screen to unlock - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Hello good afternoon.
I have a Samsung J5 (2016) SM-J510FN and on the lock screen, at the bottom, there is a phrase "Slide display to unlock". Does anyone know how to delete this sentence ?.
Thank you.

this sentence is most likely in systemUI.apk
decompile systemUI.apk, navigate to systemui/res/values/strings.xml and find it and remove text from there (replace with space as example) and then recompile with original signature and then replace stock systemUI with the new one in TWRP file manager, dont forget to set CHMOD 755
Edit: use notepad++ for editing on windows, Mousepad on linux.

I'm not too advanced, but I'll try.

[TUT]Revive your(original) framework-res.apk when boot looping caused by modding

Hi all,
i often noticed people(including me) who tried to modificate their framework-res.apk resulting in boot loops(e.g. looping at white/green quietly brilliant screen).
So i tried to find out a fast way to get back to my(original) framework-res.apk without usage of recovery console each time my framwork-res.apk did not work as expected.
How it could help you:
It's a fast way to:
check out your moddings when doing numerous modifications in different versions of your modded framework-res.apk on your way to get it to work.
if you want to get back to your original/working framework-res.apk, even when it boot loops!
Click to collapse
When you do numerous modifications on framework-res.apk and your modded apk leads to a boot loop you will be able to replace the current apk through e.g. the original apk.
At this boot point(boot loop screen) Android nearly finished booting and you have access on ADB commands.
What do you need to do this:
Download and extract/install QtADB from the link below:
QtADB
to replace the erroneous(current) framework-res.apk by the original or a fixed one.
Click to collapse
There's no need to describe how to get a copy of your untouched framework-res.apk from device, since there are numerous tutorials around here.
Please check this tutorials to get a copy of your apk.
Please note before beating your device:
this probably will work with the most visual moddings of framework-res.apk - but i can't guarantee it works 100%.
It probably will not work when you play around with hardware or connections setting, other apk's or other stuff in other folders, so i am not responsible if it does not work.
always backup your current ROM/settings/whatever and save a copy of your untouched framework-res.apk
There is a little catch in it in comparsion with using recovery:
After you did like described, you have to set your background image and your (google) accounts anew.
But this is just a little work and it's not necessary until your framework-res.apk is doing the modded stuff correctly - or if you want to set the original framework-res.apk back.
Click to collapse
So let's start to revive your original framework-res.apk.
(Of course you can use this method to push a modded to your device, to check out if your modding works):
Boot your device and let it load until you're at boot loop
(Download, extract,) run QtADB
Navigate in left window(Computer) to your copy of original framework-res.apk(e.g. in root directory of SD card, but i recommend a folder on your computer)
Navigate in right window(Phone) to device folder /system/framework/
Use in left window(Computer) context menu on your original framework-res.apk and select copy or drag&drop it to right window to copy the original framework-res.apk to your device
(just ignore that your device is doing strange stuff then, since it cannot access your framework-res.apk correctly at this point)
Then enter shell of QtADB(at left toolbar of QtADB) and enter the following commands to set the apk's prermissions:su
cd /system/framework/
chmod 777 framework-res.apk
Reboot your device( e.g. by using top menu->tools-ADB->reboot)
Set your background image and your (google/HtcSense) accounts anew.
Hope it helps you a bit on modding,
Greetings, brush2(Stephan)
error
hey man, Im getting an error on this. I changed my transitions effects ( folder anim on framework-res.apk) using the app metamorph. well, now every time I open an app the phone ( xt920) reboot. I ask my friend that have the same phone to send me his framework-res.apk. I try to replace using this method but dont got. I draged and droped the new apk and when I would type the shell's code the last code dont work because it said that the file is a "read-only system". What can I do to have my phone back? Please help.
Thanks.

AmeriCanAndroid screen size issue

so i just flashed the AmeriCanAndroid rom and everything is running smoothly. the only issue is that the screen is very small. like the notification bar is so small i can hardly see it. the lock screen is a little bigger then a US stamp. i searched the original thread but there are over 1500 pages and the search function yeilded no results . so how do i fix the screen size?
The very first page of ACA thread says
"-Starting with 080111 and later, users can edit /sdcard/android/startup.txt prior to booting to adjust LCD_DENSITY, GPS_ZONE, and DATA_SIZE (data.img)
(ie: the default lcd_density of ACA is 167. Edit the lcd_density= value to 240 to get standard sized icons and fonts)"
The part you're looking for is to change the value to 240.
I do agree, its a plague to look through that thread and search ain't no help if you don't search right
RE: Wrong Section
Hi...please put this in the questions and answers section...iron fist will be on you ...here are some solutions I found by simply using the search:
You can increase the density (sort of like changing monitor resolution) on your screen by simply changing the build.prop file. This gives you more viewing area on your screen. The build.prop file contains many user variables that are editable and one of them is the LCD Density. The lower the number, the higher the resolution. The default value is 240, but by simply changing it to 200, you can increase the resolution and see more emails in your email app, more app listings in the market, more room for widget alignment, crisper graphics, and much more!
PERMANENT ROOT SOLUTION:
now that we can do perm root, you can permanently change this by modifying your build.prop file located /system/build.prop. look for ro.sf.lcd_density and modify the number and save and reboot.
Recommended value is 200, though many users like 190. If you are unsure what you like, please try TEST MODE shown below!
Please be sure to download Spare Parts from the Market, and disable Compatibility Mode in the app. This will fix many, many apps from not displaying full-screen, however there are some apps that will not re-size.
This works really well if you pair it with something like Launcher Pro or ADW.Launcher, where you have control over rows/columns and resizing widgets.
Easiest Method -- Go to Market and download one of the LCD Density apps. Search "LCD Density."
Phone-Only Method:
You can use Root Explorer, or any text editor like notepad++ or text edit.
1. Open a File Manager and locate /system/build.prop
2. Make sure "/system" is mounted as R/W (in Root Explorer, click the Mount R/W button at the top.)
2A. MAKE A BACKUP!
3. Open and Edit the file.
4. Find ro.sf.lcd_density=240 and change it to desired value (recommend 200 or 190 for G2).
5. Save the file.
6. Exit and Reboot!
If you use a separate text editor, just copy the file to your SDCard, edit it there, and move it back and overwrite the original. I recommend backing up the original just-in-case.
ADB Method:
at the cmd prompt:
1. adb pull /system/build.prop
2. Go to SDK / Tools folder and open build.prop in a text editor (recommend WORDPAD for Windows).
3. Find ro.sf.lcd_density=240 and change it to desired value (recommend 200 or 190 for G2).
4. Save & Exit
5. go back to cmd prompt and type: adb shell mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 /system
6. type: adb push build.prop /system/
7. exit and reboot phone!
hope this helps you out
Or if that doesn't work, go to spare parts and uncheck "compatibility mode" then reboot phone

Screensave while in landscape mode

If you use applications in landscape mode, you may have noticed this already.
When your Nook sleeps or is sent to sleep your normal portrait screensaver appears rotated, squished and with black borders.
Clearly, the Nook developers never anticipated that people would be using landscape mode.
I have a mod to /system/framework/services.jar to fix this.
If the graphic is either 600 x 800 or 800 x 600 it will put it in the orientation that fits.
If the graphic is 800 x 800 it will put it in the current orientation, centered at a scale of 1:1.
Since a lot of people seem to use a moded system.jar already it would have to be integrated in.
Is there interest in this?
I am very interested!!
Can u share your mod?
Well, with all the modded services.jar and various updates maybe posting the injected smali code?
Or is that too difficult/annoying?
sounds great! but still I would prefer no-screen-saver mod. i.e. you can see you launcher widgets (calendar, task, time, battery) all the time. These s.s. pictures are quite antiproductive.
Renate NST . we are waiting !
Ok, here goes. My apologies if this is complicated.
I didn't want to distribute B&N code or presume what mods where already in your services.jar
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/services.jar
apktool d services.jar \Services
Edit \Services\smali\com\android\server\PowerManagerService.smali
parta.txt replaces 3 lines in the original that have to do with parse / move / setImageURI
Delete those lines and insert the file where the .line statements match.
You can leave both the comments in parta.txt and the .line statements there.
partb.txt gets inserted at the end of the file.
Code:
apktool b \Services services.jar
adb push services.jar /system/framework/
You probably want to clear the cache and reboot at that point.
Note: If you are using the standard slide unlock, the image placement code for that is in android.policy.jar
That defaults to portrait orientation. It is not affected by this mod.
Please tell me if this works for you.
This is a nice idea. However, when you use book cover as screensaver via Cool Reader most of them aren't 800x600 images. The B&N default behavior is to resize to fit the screen (keep aspect ratio), but with your mod the picture appears at 1:1 scale (normally cropped). Would this be an easy fix?

Tomorrow.
It's tomorrow.
I hope that I covered all the cases because more variants will require user configuration somewhere.
If the image is 600 x 800, 800 x 600 or an aspect ratio of 3:4 or 4:3 it will fit exactly.
If the image has another aspect ratio it will fit inside with side strips in white.
If the image is exactly square it will use the current orientation and overfill the screen.
In all cases the aspect ratio will be preserved and at least one axis will fit exactly.
When the lock screen with the slider pops up the image will not be consistent.
This is because B&N handled the screensaver image there separately.
I will be releasing a mod for android.policy.jar to fix that soon.
(Or you could switch to another screen locker.)
Install procedure same as above.
Ok, here's the one that fixes the lock screen too.
parta.txt and partb.txt are the same as they were.
partc.txt and partd.txt are for LockScreen inside android.policy.jar
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/android.policy.jar
apktool d android.policy.jar \Policy
Edit \Policy\smali\com\android\internal\policy\impl\LockScreen.smali
partc.txt replaces the entire updateBackgroundImage method.
partd.txt gets inserted at the end of the file.
Code:
apktool b \Policy android.policy.jar
adb push android.policy.jar /system/framework/
As always, be careful and backup.
(This is also in the readme file.)
Warning: This is only for Nook 1.12 and older, not for Nook 1.2 and newer.
Oh, and if you're tired of dragging to unlock your NOOK™,
place the extracted files in /res/drawable-mdpi/ inside /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Just to be clear, this doesn't change the manner of unlocking, just the look.
(The folks at B&N made the graphics shorter by making the top 30 pixels transparent.
That was an unnecessary hack, as long as all four graphics are the same height it works fine.)
signing / alternative to adb push
Renate,
thank you for the mods. The rotated screensaver has been irritating me for some time ;-) And I intend to put my email instead of the "slide to unlock" text..
Just 2 questions, before I do so:
1) do I need to sign the modified .jar/.apk files?
2) As I do not have ADB installed, I intend to change the files from a command line over ssh (i.e. copy, chown, chmod). My understanding is that this should be equivalend to adb push. Is this so?
Cheers

No, if you copy in anything directly you bypass all the signing stuff.
How you get the files over is however you like.
Bootloop
Hi,
I tried to do both changes (screensaver, slider) but since the recompilation of services.jar and android.policy.jar was giving me errors (see below), I decided to go with replacing framework-res.apk
what I did was
ssh into my nook
Code:
cd /system/framework/
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /system
#copy the new framework into target dir
cp /sdcard/download/framework-res.apk ./framework-res.apk.new
#fix permissions
chmod 644 framework-res.apk.new
#make a backup
cp framework-res.apk framework-res.apk.old
#replace the file
cp framework-res.apk.new framework-res.apk
now at that moment I got the bootloop screen.. however ssh was still working, so I run the following line to restore the framework:
Code:
cp framework-res.apk.old framework-res.apk
and rebooted.. I am getting bootloops ever since..
I can boot to CWM. so I tried both what I should have done in the first place, i.e. replace the file in CWM
I tried this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24728342&postcount=22
(fixes permissions)
and this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23607664&postcount=11
(restores the old framework and fixes permissions)
but none seem to work... still the same bootloop (nook by B&N and 5 dots going from Left to Right)..
any ideas? I'd rather not go all the way to factory restore
p.s. I also tried wiping cache and dalvik-cache in CWM.. could this cause any problems?
p.p.s. the errors I got with recompiling the jars are:
Code:
>apktool b .\Services2 services.jar
I: Checking whether sources has changed...
W: Could not find resources
I: Building apk file...
is the "Could not find resources" normal?
Let's take the easy one first.
Compiling the jars will return "No resources found", because they are just jars.
You should always check to make sure that the output is about the same size as the original.
It may be a bit bigger or smaller depending on the vagaries of compression.
Now the toughie.
Hot-swapping jars is a bit risky.
In the best of all worlds, you'd like to swap them when they are not being used.
Swapping framework-res.apk could make it crash when something can't find a resource,
but it's not code and generally if you leave the Nook sitting it won't try to access anything.
If all you did was replace one file and now you replaced it back it should be working.
I don't know how you are getting a ssh into the Nook.
I've got no port 22 or 23 open.

I did this, of course. The files are generally sightly smaller, in the case of framework-res.apk the change is relatively big: from 2,897,726 to 2,381,970 (but I am not worried about this as I get a similar size decrease even during simple decompile/recompile)

I know, and I totally agree with you!
My conclusion is that something got corrupted..
I tried removing the apk.old and apk.new files via CWM (to make sure they are not in the way)
I also tried running e2fsck -p /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 via CMW (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21915065&postcount=59 )
.. but still the same bootloop.
Is there any way to see some logs of the failed boots?
Since I did not make a backup just before doing this change (and I know you had adviced to do so ), the only thing which I can think of now is
a) create a backup with noogie
b) mount the image and check what is actually in /system
unfortunately, I do not have access to linux so this would be kind of pain (my old laptop with WinXPSP3 is the main reason, why I dont have ADB..)
And I am not sure if this is not more complicated than reinstalling everything from scratch..
Thanks for your help, I'll probably give it a day's rest and then do the factory reset..
I don't know how you are getting a ssh into the Nook.
I've got no port 22 or 23 open.

I have droidSSHd installed and am able to connect easily with Putty.
Have you already tried to look at dmesg? logcat?
I am not sure how to do this (dmesg, logcat)
I was probably unclear about the ssh - I WAS able to ssh in when Nook was booting normally. Now I cannot.
Is there any way to do this from CWM? (I mean dmesg, logcat)
I was wondering how you were in a boot loop and managed to ssh.
Code:
# dmesg
.....
# logcat
.....
If you don't have a shell this is not going to do you any good.
I used noogie to get an img which I then mounted (using OSFMount and Ext2IFS) under windows..
looking at the /system partition, I see that
- my .old and .new files are gone
- the correct framework-res.apk is in place
i.e. the CWM scripts I have run did their job correctly.. so they have effectively undone any changes that I have made.. so the nook should boot up without any problems
weird....
so I guess my only options are
- restore my pre-root backup
- factory reset

[GUIDE] Beginners/Ref Guide to Making Roms.

Hi guys! I see many people trying to learn how to make roms, Here i show the easiest and shortest way on how anyone can begin making roms for the Galaxy S3.
Requirements:
Prepared CWM Stock Package.
Apktool
7-zip
Notepad ++
Setting Up, and Introduction
IF you have downloaded firmware from sammobile instead of zoot1's package, use this part for Setting up and introduction: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37812381&postcount=33
OR ELSE THE EASIER WAY
To start with, Download the prepared CWM Stock Rom by zoot1 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868004
I personally use firmware from sammobile, because i like to do everything myself. Though this method would be easier for beginners.
Extract the zip file to folder called "ROM".
Now lets head towards the customizing.
Thanks to Prawesome alot for this part. I took some info from his guide.
So now, open up the system folder. You'll find loads of folders in it. Here is a brief introduction to each of those folders:
1. apps
When you open this folder. You will find apk's. An apk is an install-able app package for any Android Device.
You can delete specific apps incase you want to delete. But take extra precautions on what you're deleting. As some apps are useful. You can add apps here as well in formats of apk's. But note, adding Play Store apps to the system/app folder is not recommended. For example you don't want Google Talk in your rom, you just have to delete the Talk.apk.
2. bin
Nothing really to mod in this folder. Full of advanced techy stuff. xD
3. etc
Here is where most of the tweaks come in. There is a folder called init.d where mods like the V6 Supercharger or multi-tasking fixes can be applied. Note! Don't add more than 1 or 2 scripts. Most of them usually conflict with each other.
In the gps.conf file, you can edit your gps info to make the gps more accurate. Pretty good guides about this, search them out.
Next is the hosts file. Devs use this to block sites from generating ads, and keeping their roms ad-free. Take a look at my DroidS3 hosts file, there are over 20,000 hosts blocked. You can use the same hosts file for your rom too.
4. Fonts
Very easy folder to understand. All you need to do here is replace ttf files, and you'll change the fonts.
5. Framework
Here is where the big mods come in. I'll explain further on about this. It contains the android.policy.jar, a useful element to add many mods. Framework-res is used to change wallpapers and theme the rom. I'll explain later.
6. libs
Contains all the libs needed for specific system apps to work. Don't mess here unless you're adding a mod.
7. Folders like csc, hdic, sipdb, wakeupdata, vendor, excetra..
These are the folders, there isn't much to do. Csc folder contains the feature.xml where some mods can be added. Search the forums for that. The rest contain multi-languages and more stuff.
8. xbin folder
Used to add scripts like busybox, dexdump, openvpn support. More like the bin folder but smaller.
9. Build.prop
Ever wondered how some roms have android 5.0, when it hasn't even released? All you need to change is the ro.build.version.release to any number you like. Even Android 20! Go change it, and fool some noobs out there. More mods can be added to this file. e.g:
Code:
debug.sf.hw=1
video.accelerate.hw=1
debug.performance.tuning=1
profiler.force_disable_err_rpt=1
profiler.force_disable_ulog=1
ro.config.nocheckin=1
ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100
ro.media.dec.jpeg.memcap=8000000
ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.bps=8000000
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=0
ro.lge.proximity.delay=15
mot.proximity.delay=15
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.config.nocheckin=1
The codes listed above are for improving jpeg quality, saving some battery life, reducing call delay and more. Search for build.prop mods, you'll find loads of them. Now, a small explanation of the Meta-inf folder.
In Meta-Inf you'll find the updater-script.
Since this is aimed at beginners, I'll just show you how to change what text is shown during install in CWM.
Just edit what's in the quotes of the ui_print code in the file, and enter your own text. e.g:
Code:
ui_print("Hi, This message in quotes is displayed in recovery");
Modding!
It's time for the modding to begin.
Get apktool from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1755243
Now, first copy your framework-res from the /system/framework directory to where you extracted apktool files. Let's call this folder "apktool"
Open the folder apktool, press shift and right click. Click on "Open command window here". Type:
Code:
apktool if framework-res.apk
Now you are ready to decompile apk's.
I'm going to show you how to mod different files. Copy over:
SystemUI.apk
android.policy.jar
framework-res.apk
1. SystemUI.apk
Just showing you basic modding here. Copy over SystemUI.apk to apktool folder. In the command prompt, type
Code:
apktool d SystemUI.apk
After it's done, you should see a SystemUI folder in the apktool directory.
I'm going to show you how to make the status bar transparent, thanks to raubkatze for this part.
Navigate to res/layout/tw_super_status_bar.xml and change android:background to match the red line.
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.StatusBarWindowView [B][COLOR="Red"]android:background="#00000000[/COLOR][/B]" android:focusable="true" android:fitsSystemWindows="true" android:descendantFocusability="afterDescendants"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:systemui="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.android.systemui">
Save and close.
Then navigate to /res/values/drawables.xml
Edit to match:
Code:
<item type="drawable" name="status_bar_background">[COLOR="red"][B]#00000000[/B][/COLOR]</item>
That's it. Save and close.
Go back to your command prompt and type
Code:
apktool b SystemUI SystemUI-new.apk
After it's done, probably will take around 5-10 minutes. You'll find SystemUI-new.apk in your apktool folder. Open both SystemUI.apk and SystemUI-new.apk with 7-zip. Delete AndroidManifest.xml from SystemUI-new.apk and copy AndroidManifest.xml and META-INF from SystemUI.apk to SystemUI-new.apk
That's it. Close the zip files.
If you have adb or android-sdk push SystemUI-new.apk to your phone using:
Code:
adb remount
adb push SystemUI-new.apk /system/app/SystemUI.apk
adb reboot
If you don't have adb, just copy over SystemUI-new.apk to your phone. Rename it to SystemUI.apk and copy to system/app with root explorer. Reboot.
There you have transparent statusbar now!
2. android.policy.jar
Decompile android.policy.jar with:
Code:
apktool d android.policy.jar
You will find android.policy.jar.out, open it and use Cristiano Matos guide to mod the files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018633
After that use:
Code:
apktool b android.policy.jar.out
Open the android.policy.jar.out folder, you will find a dist folder created and inside that is your modified android.policy.jar.
You can use adb again by:
Code:
adb push android.policy.jar /system/framework
or the normal root explorer method.
3. framework-res.apk
Here i'll show you small mods.
Decompile it using
Code:
apktool d framework-res.apk
Navigate to res/values/bools.xml. Here you can add these. Thanks to DSA for this! :
4 Way Rotation:
Code:
Code:
<bool name="config_allowAllRotations">false</bool>
Change to:
Code:
Code:
<bool name="config_allowAllRotations">true</bool>
Lock Screen Rotation:
Code:
Code:
<bool name="config_enableLockScreenRotation">false</bool>
Change to:
Code:
Code:
<bool name="config_enableLockScreenRotation">true</bool>
and
Code:
Code:
<bool name="lockscreen_isPortrait">true</bool>
change to
Code:
Code:
<bool name="lockscreen_isPortrait">false</bool>
Disable Keyboard Switch In StatusBar When Typing
Code:
Code:
<bool name="show_ongoing_ime_switcher">true</bool>
Change to:
Code:
Code:
<bool name="show_ongoing_ime_switcher">false</bool>
Unplugging From USB doesn't Turn Screen On
Code:
Code:
<bool name="config_unplugTurnsOnScreen">true</bool>
Change to:
Code:
Code:
<bool name="config_unplugTurnsOnScreen">false</bool>[/indent]
Now to change wallpaper. Change the default_wallpaper.jpg in drawable-xhdpi and to change lockscreen wallpaper change keyguard_default_wallpaper.jpg.
Now recompile using:
Code:
apktool b framework-res framework-new.apk
Delete AndroidManifest.xml from framework-new. Copy AndroidManifest.xml and META-INF from framework-res.apk to framework-new.apk
To test use adb:
Code:
adb push framework-new.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Or rename to framework-res.apk and copy to system/framework using root explorer. Reboot.
Once you've added everything, your modified apks. Ui_print mods, A custom kernel (just replace boot.img) it's time to compile. Now this is really easy. Just highlight all the folders/files like system, meta-inf and boot.img. Right click. Hover over 7-zip and click Add to Rom.zip. Wait for it to be done, and copy Rom.zip to your sd card and flash. Voila! You've made your rom!!
You can get more mods to add from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26583654&postcount=4

Huh?
Get me a screenshot of your meta-inf/com/google/android directory.
What exactly did you modify? It should work if you left the meta-inf untouched.

[No root] Customizing Navbar Order and Lock/Unlock LowBattery Sounds

/!\ You must know how to use adb (Android Debugging Bridge) in order to do this
adb is downloadable here https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools.html
Alcatel Qualcomm USB adb driver here http://www.alcatel-mobile.com/car-en/support/faq/usbdriver.html
You must enable developper settings and usb debugging
Navigation Bar
I found a hidden Settings Activity that allows you to change your navbar buttons order. You can launch it using Nova Launcher->Add a widget->Activities OR by usins the app "Activity Launcher" from Play Store. It's under the package name "Status Bar" and it's name is com.android.systemui.navigationbar.NavigationBarSettingsActivity.
When you change the buttons order, it will take effect for portrait AND Landscape. So by default the landscape orientation has the opposite order or portrait, this will make the same order for both when you change settings.
If you want to revert to stock, you must use adb to clear "com.android.systemui" settings. The command is:
Code:
adb shell pm clear com.android.systemui
. Then restart phone immediatly when the operation is done.
SystemUI Sounds
I suggest you create a "media" folder at the root of your phone internal storage. Inside this folder, put a folder named "ui". Inside the "ui" folder, put some ogg soud files: "LowBattery.ogg", "Lock.ogg", "Unlock.ogg".
I guess mp3 format is OK but Android uses ogg by default. You can use Audacity to convert to ogg.
Your storage should look like this:
/storage/emulated/0/media/ui/Lock.ogg
/storage/emulated/0/media/ui/Unlock.ogg
/storage/emulated/0/media/ui/LowBattery.ogg
Then we have to tell the system to use the files. We'll use adb.
Execute these three commands, one by one:
Code:
adb shell settings put global lock_sound /storage/emulated/0/media/ui/Lock.ogg
adb shell settings put global unlock_sound /storage/emulated/0/media/ui/Unlock.ogg
adb shell settings put global low_battery_sound /storage/emulated/0/media/ui/LowBattery.ogg
Then restart the device.
If you want to change the sounds, you don't have to use adb anymore, just replace them on your internal storage.
You can find some SystemUI sounds from xda, rom dumps, .deb cydia packages (if you want iphone lock sound) (just extract using 7zip), Google...
Hi, I've tried that method to change the lock and unlock sound and the only thing I've achieved is that no longer hear any sound when lock or unlock the phone. What can I do to undo what I have done?
What command should I use?
Thank you very much for your attention.
I had used this method before on other phones and it worked without problems.
