No it does not effect the heating. I'm using hardened glass screen protector since day one and temperature is all ok.
But heat seems to be a problem for some people. Several threads and discussions are active here, search a little bit, like this https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/help-thread-custom-roms-t3513118/post72882392 and find some workarounds.

That's the key: some people facing heating issues with n firmware and others don't. And since there are no really facts to compare that behavior it's really hard to say what's the root cause of heating (environment temperature, charging, usage behavior, firmware, apps...)

I encounter heating issue before too.
This can be sys process hang or some malfunction applications.
I check system setting -> battery usage, identify possible malfunction application which consumes much power,
kill it in application manager will solve it until next reboot..
For system process causing issue, can't do much but reboot. so a good Rom really helps..
I guess underclocking the processor will do the job but it will slow down the device. Describe the overheating, there are some apps that show how much your battery gets heated, if you can show some stats. I noticed my phone gets really hot after I put a glass screen protector but it's bearable.

I noticed the heating after using the screen too long. I know this is a common cause for this but I want to know if the heating can be minimized.
Moving to AOSP rom fixed all heating problems for me.... except of course for gaming
m also facing heating issue

after updating to 2.19.40.22

I am using the indian variant so my merits and demerits might vary .
Merits -
None till now....only the network stability improved
Demerits-
The phone lags
The battery has deprived than the previous version
The heating is now more prominent
I hope the phone gets 5.1.1 and get rid of all this problems
Many are whinning about the problem and some say the phone is working perfectly...... idk wats happening with my phone....
But still hope asus has some plans for this all
PEACE!!✌✌

If u wanted to convey us something about the update you should have posted it in the same thread which gave us the info about the update...All the bugs/fixes are being discussed there...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/update-2-19-40-22-2nd-july-t3148565
And i see you already have posed this issue in this post...So why post the same thing again and again brother...People will come to know about the bugs/fixes by reading your post in this thread only...No need to start a new thread and post the same thing...BTW i am also from INDIA and i am not facing any of these issues... Better clear ur phone's cache...Maybe it will help ur phone cool down a bit and will make it less laggy
Indian user here as well and on the 4gb variant no issues at all 3.5 hrs of sot in 11 hrs of medium heavy usage that too with 2000 songs and 10 movies on a 64gb card darn happy with the phone would love 5.1 though

You should not fast charge the phone and use it at the same time. Fast charge creates a lot of heat, which will cause the phone to slow down. If you have to use and charge at the same time, use a slow charger.
Each update seems to slightly improve things for me personally. Signal strength in former areas where weak has improved (LTE Discovery/Open Signal).

note : this problem happened to me with my last phone (nexus 4) in its last days with me .
Are you using tempered glass screen protectors? this is common issue on turbo charged phone when using those. I have 2 moto g4 plus and both act the same.
Cheap chargers and cheap screen protectors will do that.
Maybe it's a software issue, try flashing cyanogenmod.

I had the same problem
I also faced a similar issue, i.e. ghost touch when charging.
The screen-guard is certainly not the issue, as the problem occurs only when charging.
Try different charges to confirm that the problem is not charger specific.
I found on the internet that it was a software issue and can be fixed by visiting a service center.
I had tried factory resetting but it was of no use.
Since I had discovered the issue on the first day, I got it replaced from amazon.
You should try updating the software.
Download and flash the stock ROM.
Or try a custom ROM.
If nothing helps, un-root your phone and take it to a service center.

I have ghost touch issues on RR along with ElementalX. Mine does it whenever the **** it feels like it on *any* non-ROM.
1644/4gb/64gb
From what I've seen it's a really common issue, the same is happening to my moto G4 (not plus). In lenovo forums this is the official answer forums . lenovo . com /t5/Moto-G4-Moto-G4-Plus-Moto-G4/moto-g4-plus-charging-issue-quot-ghost-touch-quot/m-p/3346441#M845

Yes, I never believed the tempered glass theory.
BTW, I flashed CM14 and N7.1 and still have the ghost touching me wear my bathing suit covers.

Hi Abdelaziz,
The issue you are facing coz u used another charger, the charger probably caused damage to your battery, and as u have mentioned that this issue has also occured when u are not charging..that means you battery is surely affected. and as per my past xperience this will keep getting worse. i will xplain u why this happens.
moto g4 plus's processor throttles at a very high rate which inturn asks for more power from the battery to keep it going. and since your battery is already damaged by ur another charger.. ur battery is unable to keep up with ur device..and that leads to ghost touching. automatic operating..u will also tend to face battery drain.
solution: Get ur battery replaced ASAP. i hope this helps.:fingers-crossed:

It makes sense, btw, most of the ghost touches reported were using the original motorola charger.

N910C overheating?

Hello!
Just got a note 4 from my friend to play with since he's not using it anymore. The problem is that the phone heats up a lot whenever its on, even if the screen is off.
My guess is that the processor receives too much power from the battery? Or is it possible that the problem is related to the CPU? Or is it the battery?
Right now im tempted to buy a new replacement battery just to see if the battery is the problem. But i hope for some advice if you guys have experienced this before. Thanks!
Update 1: Changed the battery. The drain is much slower compared to before but the phone still gets really hot. Any idea why?
I have the same problem. I am not sure why overheating happens but I think about few things: constant Wi-Fi activity, a lot of installed apps, low free memory.
I just ordered a battery to see if its the problem
Yesterday my phone was very hot and very slow. I thought battery can't be the reason but I was wrong. I replaced my few months used battery with my old one and phone worked normally. So battery can be the reason for overheating.

I tried nemesis and erobot but they were pretty laggy since i had to use minimum clock speeds or else it gets hard to hold the phone cause of the heat. Also i think one of them had spacelemon kernel but i couldnt change the clock speeds and the phone became unbearably hot so i quicky changed to bliss then superstock
Got a new battery today will pop it in when i get home.

When im in the OS yes it does. But when i was in TWRP last night it was pretty normal unlike the time before the new battery. Also the idle drain is disturbingly fast i left it on last night and when i woke up today it was fully drained. Still trying to find out if there are apps causing the drain
Maybe latest firmware cause that. I am planning to flash 5.1.

It runs relatively cooler (like cool enough that i can use it without a case without burning my hand, it just gets warm) on rulinglite rom which is on the 5.1.1 version so it does have something to do with the firmware maybe. The battery still drains too much though even in safe mode so im not sure anymore on whats the problem on my note 4

Unfortunately nothing i try fixes the overheating i read at a note 5 forum that his phone overheats constantly because of the too many charging cycles probably damaged the motherboard. I think that might be the cause of overheating here too.
Also no problem with unmounting or anything else. Just the overheating and the massive battery drain even when the screen is off

Sad to say that these note 4's probably cant be used as daily drivers anymore i have to charge mine to every 3 hours lol since thats all the battery life it can give on a single full charge
Such a shame since the screen is so good and the camera is super crisp too. I will probably just use it for some daylight photography haha
Have you tried simpl rom?
Using genuine samsung batteries or 3rd party?
NFC on,bluetooth etc?
Tried with mem card and sim out?
Which model you have, exynos or qualcomm?
Have 2x910C here and no probs.

I have C version of Note 4. I bought new battery but I still have problem with overheating and random memory card unmounting. I have a lot of applications and latest firmware. I didn't tried to use 5.1.1 firmware and don't know how to solve this problem.

In normal usage even I don't feel any heating issue but while charging it was quite obvious and main reason is aluminium frame in sides so easy noticeable and by the way which charger are you using and your temp during charging?
Not facing any heating issue in normal usage or on charging, it only gets warm but not to a point where it felt hot not enough to say the heating issue is there. Not a mobile gamer but I tried 2 arcade matches of pubg mobile(smooth and max frame rate setting) in 25 mins of game session device barely felt hot but what was noticeable is upper side frame was warmer than the lower half.
With an aluminum frame, I was expecting equal distribution of heat on all sides of the frame.
Mine gets hot when fast charging with NP brick. The phone stays cool when slow charging or normal use.
