Hello Everyone,
i installed Android N on my device and wanted to use it for running an app two times.
Sadly, the system only runs one of them. the other freezes.
I have seen an Samsung Galaxy Edge with the same system and both apps where running simultaniously.
Can someone tell me what i forgot?
Kind regards

Hello,
I know there is tones of topics about it, but i really cant find any solution about it.
The most annoying problem is the not compatible apps, that should be compatible. I use the market on my computer which show paid apps (my phone doesnt show it). And normal apps like Vlingo are shown not compatible.
Worst some app i installed before are now shown not compatible anymore.
I changed room from lightning to Revolution (2.7.1), but still get the same probleme.
Anyway, how can it be from my phone if my account on computer show it not compatible. It must be from my account right ?
Im in china now, (bought the phone in France) and my google account is French. Can it be a problem with the localisation ?
Another weired thing on my phone, Market 3.1.5, when i go to Filter app (sorry i dont know the name in english for the option) to choose what level we want to show.
I must select FOR ALL before select Level3 and next must select level 3 to select level2. Shouldn't it be the reverse ? I mean, first people would like to get the most safe app, Level 1 and after get less safe, Level 2 - 3.
Is it the same on your device ?
Thanks all, i'm very tired of it, and it ruin my android experience... got SGS2, and cant install regular apps...

Oh but one thing though, the paid apps are back with the Market enabler.
Bust still nothing for the not compatible apps.
shall i change something in build.prop ?

Its insane that google don't make any fix for this, at least let people choose if they want to download the app even if its says its not compatible...

It's the creator of the app that decides which devices should be able to buy/download their app, if they have decided you can't have it or buy it that's their decision.
If you want an app to be available and wonder why it's not showing for SGS2 send the developer an e-mail and perhaps they'll tell you why it's not available.
Have you changed the LCD Density? I did and a load of my apps came up as not compatible until I reverted back to the standard DPI and rebooted.

I tried change it, the defaut was 240 and I read that it was actually the standard, so i tried to force it again to 240 but it didnt change. (or its not the right number ?)
If you're using a Chinese SIM card you will get the Chinese version of market which doesn't have paid apps. That's why they are shown as incompatible or not shown at all. You need to use your French SIM or use marketenabler with the old market if you want the paid apps.

Yep I figuered that out for the paid apps, but i still got uncompability with the marketenabler...
Anyway thanks for your answers
Marketenabler doesn't work properly with the new market. You have to downgrade to the old one.

FINALLY ! you got the right answer ! the combo Marketenabler + Old market version works !! thank you so much !
So I, like a good amount of other people, installed 4.2 on my nexus 7. I was excited to try the multi-user feature. The tablet immediately became slow, to the point where the setup was stating it was unresponsive. If you hit wait, and waited it would continue. When I removed the 2nd user, the tablet was back it it's snappy self.
Has anyone else gotten this?
Actually I remember I had a few force closes when I added a second user, but it eventually sorted itself out and now everything works fine. This was from a fresh flash of the factory image so there was nothing conflicting from an upgrade from 4.1.2.
I flashed the factory images and didn't have any problems adding another user.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I upgraded manually using the OTA zip, got the lag and slowdown as soon as I added a second user. Removed the user and the lash instantly disappeared.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
No problem here, added second user, logged with second user launched some apps...
Logged as myself, all is snappy as normal (I think the second users apps are still running ).
Mine was an ota upgrade and I had a bunch of lag for a few minutes after adding a second user, I had a force reboot too, bit now it's all good.

I've read here somewhere that you have to go to the Play Store, logged in as the 3rd user, and re-download the apps.
However the apps will not actually be re-installed but will become available to this user.

for some reason the first user I added for my friend had all of my applications already! which was logged in with my friend's Google account. But after him every user I added only had the system apps in their list. That is why I asked in here for help and couldn't understand what was going on.
At first I thought it is because of limitations of creating new users but when I removed all users added the first one again all of my apps were gone! so I think that was a bug or it was because I restored my apps using Titanium backup.
It's good to know that apps wont get installed again (actually)! I was worried about my space in my tablet.
Edit: to make myself clear when I say first user I mean the first non-owner user.
hi to all, it's my first time to be here! me and a friend of mine have joined a small competition that require for participating -of cours- to develop an android app! also we are a newbies in java developement and it's our first experience in android world, so my question is: is there a java or linux or c++ code that can power on an android device at a specific time? I googled a lot of time and i didn't got an answer. Please any suggestion or help? And sorry foy my bad english.
No definitely not!*
Because, you're app is only running if android has booted, so there is now way for your app.
The build-in Clock-App can't do it, too!
The only think you can do is, to unlock a booted phone.
Regards
-----
*There could maybe a way, for a specific phone, which has the hardware, which is needed and a SDK for developers for that hardware. But I don't know anyone.
Thanks for the replay. You speaked about the build-in clock app can't do it? it's indeed a reality! But why? unlike the android phone, when you set the alarm clock app in a Nokia phone and you shutdown the device.. the app is able to power on and boot the os!! So why it's not possible on android! is it something related to android architectur (layers)? maybe the hardware? can someone give me an explanation please.
Yes, I suppose you'll need specific hardware support. If the phone is really off, there needs to be some kind of timer that is still running, which can turn the phone on, so it can boot again, and then run some app for the alarm or whatnot.
Apparently Blackberry phones support it too, perhaps others as well, but it's not a common feature on Android phones.
Thanks you for the info.

there are many apps available on play store search and get it all working ....
Have a nice day
I dont know how to but its possible in Android because if you got to Settings --> Accessibility --> There is an option to turn on and off the device... So there must be a turn around for the same...
I also have a similar kind of Idea for my next app but dont know how to run my app when the phone is off or how to switch it on...
Maybe in rooted devices...Please let me know if you get anything similar.
Thanks

No, just for a few mns until the application is done updating/ installing or un installing Then the screen either hang or locked itself. Like the system did a soft reboot.

It's normal for a device to slow down or lag a little when installing apps sometimes, the screen locking definitely isn't normal though.
Even my does the same
Like it i update am app or install from play store and use a diff app say I'm on whatsapp then when the app is installing it will be freezed no touch works nothing but screen remains as it is
Cheers ?

Even when installing app? That's odd. My note 5 doesn't freeze when installing apps or updating them
It's an issue with aosp package installer. You won't see it on other devices as the oems re-write that code.
It's mostly noticeable on anything FB puts out. As they are known for having the worst coded apps on the market.

So far I don't think there is a fix. Can't say about official Google. As I have not run a stock rom since I got my first device. If they have fixed it they have not pushed the fix to aosp which is happening more and more with google

Well as the custom roms sync their source with aosp, then Google has not pushed a fix if there is one. This is happening more and more. Google fixes something but doesn't push it to aosp so it stays broken in 3rd party roms until the devs find a fix
Has this been solved? It's happening to me.
facing same issue. Also my YouTube pause video whenever some app gets updated in background.
Noticed this along with horrible battery life due to system ui restarts or something in all latest may version of Roms. I went back to b29I or whatever "I" version stock rom. No problems since. Goodluck
Hi.
I don't know if I'm in the right place because I'm in canada and have the 900w8 (with Wind/Freedom) but anyway, just bought my Note 3 recently and I see no Mobile Data shortcut on the Notification panel and it seems this was a common problem after some update and I couldn't find any fixes for this. Also, the phone has Android version 5, which I know isn't the latest version but looks like there will be no updates for us.
So, any way I can get the Data shortcut, or maybe the android 6 version? My phone is stock everything.
Thanks.

I am surprised that it does not show
I found a screenshot of Lollipop and it does show the mobile data shortcut.
Best I can tell you is to flash with Odin stock 5.0, but other than that, I do not know how you could fix it. Or just root it and try a custom ROM if that is something so important to you.
Thanks again for the reply and the suggestions, man. Yeah I don't know why this is happening with the Note 3s but like I said this was a common problem after some update. I've never rooted or flashed any phone and I don't know if I want to do this. So, looks like I have to live with this inconvenience. It also looks like I won't be able to swipe down to access shortcuts unless I unlock the screen. On my Moto E (Android 6) I'm able to do that without having to unlock the screen. That's another inconvenience.

Is that the case? I am not on stock anymore, but I think I remember it was possible if I just had the lockscreen to "swipe".
But then again, it could be a difference between Android 5 and 6
Flashing is an intimidating task and requires a lot of research but not as much as you may think.
Anyway, I'm not going to grind on that suggestion. Best I can tell you now is, enjoy your Note 3 experience

Yeah I guess I'm stuck with what I have for now (no Data shortcut and no swiping with locked screen) but I don't know why I can't get an update (Android 6) for the Note 3.
Thanks anyways for the reply.
