mine is T827 AS well , I can not flash it with any ROM except the original from the carrier

Yeah, have the US Cellular version sm-t827r4 with the exact same issue. Have had it since launch and have been hoping they'd enable the unlocker by now. Good luck!:laugh:
I don't think anyone's even working on it. I have one too, and would love to see root, but I'm not a developer-wouldn't even know where to start. I also have a VZW Note 8 which has been rooted by the same methods that worked on the VZW S8. I believe that a variant on that method could work for our Tab S3s as well, but again, no clue how to begin.

Somehow I also managed these to get set:

heck if i can get root i can most likely boot twrp.. my verified boot state is orange which means i should (in theory) be able to boot with modified partitions.. ill try that tomorrow

I stupidly wrote down the wrong sim unlock code given to me by ATT on my phone and I guess I entered the wrong code too many times. I called ATT tech support and they said that my phone is locked permanently ATT now.
Is there a fix around this or am I screwed?

As far as I know, you are SOL and is locked permanently to ATT, unless theres a way to unlock it via the service menu after a code has been inputted wrong.
Go to Cellunlocker.net and talk to someone in support about getting a code that unlocks your sim-locked status. It's not the code to unlock your phone, it's the code that resets the perma-lock state of the phone.

Did you try the method listed for unlocking your phone from the service menus - without an unlock code?
I have not seen it explained, but it appears to me that by disabling the SHA256 network lock, you are basically getting rid of the requirement for the unlock code that is cryptographically dependent on the IMEI.
I did it on my AT&T phone and plopped in a T-mo sim and it worked fine:

You might have one other option that I know of that might work, might not work, or might make things worse. It is the "Free unlock" menu method in the general section. I am assuming you haven't tried it already. Normally I tell people to stay clear of it because of the slim chance it could screw your phone up, but in your case, I'd say it's already screwed up.
Follow the directions and see if restoring your "Golden backup" (NV restore) resets the cell locks on your phone. You can also try thing like turning SHA256 "On", or "Off" and see if it makes a difference. The reason the free unlock method works for some and not others all depends on what info resides in your phones NV backup. For some, it restores full phone functionality without network locks (sim unlocked), for others, it restores exactly what is already on the phone's NV memory (still network locked), and for others, it restores a backup that screws the phone up. There is a slim possibility that if you restore the NV data via the hidden menu, you might restore your phones original sim locked state and then be able to use the code with SHA256ON or maybe Off.
The risk you take if you try it is completely yours.
It might help, it might not help, or it could make it worse. Good luck.
Would flashing back to stock rom work? I am still fairly new with android devices coming from iphones so i dont want to mess with it if it has absolutely no chance of working. The phone is still working fine just can't unlock it.

Flashing back to stock is not going to cure your problem. You're kind of hosed at this point. Scott's suggestion is probably your best bet, BUT you could end up with no phone working at all. If you can still get phone service I'd leave it as is and give up ever unlocking.

I wasn't able to unlock my AT&T GS4 via the service menu methods, nor with an unlock code I bought online. I was finally able to unlock it via the USB program at FastGSM. It seemed kind of shady but it worked for me...

Which Version worked for you? Their download page has several but none of them say Fire Phone.
I bought this phone for my mom and sent her the unlock code... but she missed it 5 times.. LOL now it is permanently locked to At&t

Is there a way I can test to see if my BL is unlocked without bricking anything if it's actually locked? I bought a phone off of ebay, and the person stated that nothing was ever done to it. However, after rooting / VooDoo, and not doing anything else to it, it wouldn't take the .94 update... kept getting the EMMC:boot error. Had to use matt's utility to RSD to stock (even though it was already stock) and root / VooDoo again.... after which it took update.
So, since the person may have lied about it not being rooted before, maybe they unlocked the BL, and just covered it up...
I DO show Bootloader Locked: Status 0 though in AP mode. I'm just wondering if I can run Motocopylis (or whatever it's called) without fear of bricking anything if it's still locked, and what kind of message or error I'd get if it's already unlocked.

If your build is prior to may 24 '13 there is the apk in my goodies. If its equal or later there is no point.

I'm no expert at all but I ran motoapocolyps and if didn't do anything. It will either fail and your phone will be fine or, depending on what update you last took, unlock it. My phone is past due for unlocking the bootloader unless there is a way to downgrade it.

You can't cover up a BL unlock. Like Avi said, it shows locked on you AP Fastboot screen, so that means you're locked.

that you can also do something to cover up the AP screen as well.
Since I'm rooted, and this phone is supposed to get 4.4, I'm not too upset that I can't unlock (Though with 4.4 I'll probably lose root ).. The stock rom is pretty nice on these, and root gives me pretty much anything I want for customization.

I just bought this phone from Cricket, and the first thing I do is unlock the dev menu and look at dev options. Imagine my surprise when I see an option to unlock the bootloader! YMMV: select on, enter your pattern/password (if needed), then accept the terms. When I get back to my computer I'll see what kind of trouble I can cause...

I have done the same thing with my boot loader. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do anything else with it
Do you think if I side loaded the TWRP I would be okay? I'm not sure how I would reverse it if it didnt work.

We would have to figure out how to back up the original recovery. You could also try the fastboot boot command. That's pretty much a sure way to boot a recovery without messing things up but it has to be in .IMG format to try it.
By any chance has anyone tried the root permission setting found in engineering mode under settings? Dial *#*#2637643#*#* in your dialer to access it

What software you running? I'm on 6055U with Cricket as well. I'm using CricketRom
So i want to flash my S8 to a new firmware from G950X to G950F/D and there are no options for oem unlock. The OEM Unlock is on but when i install the TWRP, it keeps on blocking it and I cannot start flashing. Is there another way or does someone know this? Im using the Exynos version of demo unit. Have you got developer options enabled? If not you have to go to settings-about-software info- and then keep on tapping building number until it says developer options, now go into settings again and you have an option now called developer options right at the bottom, go into that and you can turn oem off

I'm not 100% sure then, demo units have no radio modem, what was you planning to do with the phone?
oem unlock is boot loader unlocking, if you try to root or install twrp that breaks knox without enable oem unlock the phone will be completely bricked. If you have successfully enable oem unlock and able to boot in twrp , you need to wipe data and internal storage to remove encryption, so twrp will be able to read data and flash. but if you stay on stock rom you need to flash others files before rebooting but for that refer to tutorials

My plan is to get the unit to G950F/D instead of G950X to get the full function of the phone such as security, full charge, etc. But not the GSM ofcourse because all demo units dont have this feature

My plan is to get the unit to G950F/D instead of G950X to get the full function of the phone such as security, full charge, etc. But not the GSM ofcourse because all demo units dont have this feature

From what I've read you can flash a firmware via Odin but there things thst will be broken. There's actually some tutorials on YouTube on how to get a normal firmware onto a demo unit.

What are the things that can be broken? Tutorials on youtube are so few and some are in other language so i cant understand, the only thing that im following now is the tutorial on youtube which he turned his S7 flat demo unit, i dont know if its the same because when he installed the TWRP, there were no problems but mine has (S8)..

but was is it blocked ? can you go to twrp ? (power it off and then hold volume up , Bixby and power until it boot to recovery, or the volume down instead for download mode)

But how can I access to TWRP, I can't even install it... but if any, how can i go to TWRP?

My phone is G955U and I don't have OEM unlocking displayed in dev options. I'm root user since 2014 but I still can't figure out what's wrong with this device I bought recently. I'm just trying to root it. Can someone please help me with this problem?
Please dd and pm me your frp, ftm, and if you are willing to, factory reset and then enable oem unlock, and send your userdata partition, all with the oem unlock allowed.

The request is probably for this thread. People are trying to use the recently rediscovered exploit to finally be able to bootloader unlock Verizon Pixel 2 XL phones.

On the LG V40 if the frp partition from a phone with the OEM lock flag triggered is dd'd to another device, the bootloader will allow unlocking, additionally, the ftm partition on the v40 seems to carry the imei so I assume the same is true for the Pixel, I'd understand if you didnt want to share that partition but I think if the phones imei registers as a Google store one, that could help trick it into working.
Is there any way an exchange can be done here for the Verizon software that enables WiFi calling, volte, voicemail, and video calling? Is that Verizon software out there somewhere? If you guys are trying to root and unlock vzw phones you'll be wiping and starting with a fresh phone anyway. Is that a good time to extract these files and provide them?

Unfortunately I already was able to get these from someone with a Google Store unlocked one, the dd'd partitions didnt stick through a reboot, and it wasnt able to oem unlock, ive been messing with the oemlock-bridge-client, so far chaning the device_lock status from 1 to 0 does nothing :/

Could you try flashing those from temp root, hard powering off (holding button) and then booting to BL?

I'll try when I get home, but I don't know if it'll be any different than using the "reboot bootloader" command.
No offence but,why are people still trying to unlock/root the "unlockable/unrootable" variants of this phone? Its like what 3-4 years old? Like i get trying to root/unlock them when they 1st come out even though like come on you should've known by now. But now there are way better phones. Everyone is offering good deals for trade in's. I think its time to give up.
I would not have even rooted android 10 if Google music had a dark mode. (literally the only thing i use root for now) Oh and to fix the things google ****ed up like the lock and unlock sound and battery sound.
