Hello, I have seem to soft-bricked my device. I was installing a ROM using TWRP (I forgot the version) and it was taking a very long time, then I stupidly shut-off my phone, and when I turned it on, it was stuck on the LG logo. I cannot boot into recovery using Power + Volume Up button, and I have no idea how to fix this!
Thank you.
EDIT: Got into recovery. The whole /system was wiped, I re-flashed CM10.2, now stuck in boot loop of the Cyanogen Mod boot logo,

It would appear that I did something very similar and is stuck at the logo boot loop. How were you able to get back into recovery?

Do you have the LG bootlogo coming up, if so try this:
Turn off phone, then when off, hold down power and volume down button until it reaches the LG logo and then release and hold it down again, if that doesn't work, when just hold it down until you see a screen that says something like: Hard reset/ factory reset. For me it took me to my recovery screen, where I just flashed a older ROM onto it. I then later flashed a recovery file. I hope this helps, and if you need it any clearer, just reply

Thanks for the reply! I was able to get into the factory reset but had to follow slightly different instructions. The way I've seen it on most wiki sites is that you hold Volume Down and Power button at the same time until the LG logo shows up, then release them and press them down again. This never worked for me.
What I had to do was hold Volume Down and Power button until the LG logo shows up, then release ONLY the Power button while still holding the Volume Down button, then press the Power button again. This method got me into the factory reset consistently and was able to get back into recovery.
Best,
Colin

LG G2 VS980 not booting, system folder permission is changed accidentally
My LG G2 VS980 phone was rooted by myself. It was a factory unlocked phone. Then using Root Browser by JRummy apps i have removed some system apps and just for a try i have changed the permission settings of system app folder to ro. Then on reboot my phone was stuck, it turns ON and after LG and Verizon logo, says "unfortunately, phone has stopped" and i could see some basic apps such as file manager, calculator etc. but i cannot use the phone at all. It is stuck. How to get back to the original factory unlocked condition? Any ideas plz!

You can get into TWRP by pressing and holding the power and volume down keys until the phone reboots, releasing them, then pressing and holding them again once the LG logo comes up. It's a little tricky and might take a couple of times to get the timing right. There will be a white screen that says "Factory hard reset" (which just means boot into recovery since the default recovery performs a factory reset). Press the power button 3 times to confirm and you'll enter TWRP.
Thanks for the info, haha Ive been using ROM manager to get me into recovery since I never knew how to get there using hardware buttons
You can also install GooManager from the Play Store. It has an option to reboot to recovery.
thank you soo much now i desire to custom my device hehee
Hi guys, (LG G2, Rooted, had twrp but now its vanished?!)
I managed to get my LG G2 into a bootloop. I was replacing bootanimations and rebooting and testing them out. I finally tried this 1080p boot animation that looked sweet. Once the device rebooted it would show half the boot animation and then reboot. I had twrp installed but now every time i try to access it it just ignores the hotkeys as if it doesn't exist anymore. I can only get into download mode if a usb is plugged in.
All i need to do is flash TWRP again so i can flash the stock bootanimation back. I do not want to do a fresh install as I have many important files (i know i should have backed them up). I have tried to access my phone via adb using windows commandline tool whilst in download mode. however, adb doesn't find my device (I was going to attempt to push the stock animation back).
Please help me guys i need my phone to be working by monday as i have work! thanks in advance

1. If you connect your phone to PC, what happens?
2. I also had trouble accessing TWRP, so I did the "Factory reset" button combo (Don't remember what it was) and when I slided to confirm, twrp booted. From there I think you have adb and can fix everything.
To get to TWRP, hold the power button until the phone turns completely off, then turn on the phone while holding the power and volume down buttons, then when the LG logo pops up, let go and re-press those buttons. When prompted for a factory reset, press the power button. Works every time for me.
Alone i used lg flashtoolnow, its ok. I didnt click factory reset i assumed it would delete everything? With lgflash i have restored system and everything is how i left it.

First off, you'll need to make sure your phone isn't plugged in or it won't work - I'm afraid if you can't enter recovery you'll have to go back to stock. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Try to flash the Kitkat baseband or if you are fully stock then i suggest you to flash the KDZ to go back to full stock(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476)
If you still have important data like pictures or what then do normal flash. Use the Android version you also had as stock and use that as KDZ. If you are not stock then can you reach TWRP?
and what did you do before that causes the black screen?
Stuck with the LG logo. Nothing happens in download mode
Hi All, not sure if this has been answered prior. This is what happen, I wanted to flash SOKP so I backup my phone and saved to PC using Titanium. I have TWRP installed.
Boot Into Recovery Mode and Wipe Data,System,Cache,Dalvik
I restart so I can flash the SOKP Rom and all I see on my phone is the LG logo. I try to restart using the Power and Up button, but it just sits in the download mode saying "Firmware Update" with no movement or action.
The phone is unable to turn off now. This is my first go at Flashing a Rom. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hey, I have the nearly same problem with my G2 running CM12 also installed recovery
But I can't reboot in recovery neither with the factory reset buttons, nor manually with SDK Manager, because the device is not found.
So I can just reboot and it shows the CM boot image, or get in the download mode.:crying:
Any suggestions?:fingers-crossed:

I have boot loop, only download mode accessible, device not found on adb. When I try LG FlashTool, instead of using the KDZ file I provide, it starts downloading some other firmware at times, and at times it says your software is up to date. What do I do? :|

USE method with .tot is working for me
So a Tmobile update came on my phone and I decided to click update for some stupid reason... Its early.
I was stock rooted with TWRP installed.
After clicking that it rebooted and went into TWRP recovery. Whether I reboot or turn off and manually go into recovery I can't get it to reboot normally whatsoever.
I tried to flash WETA rom and everything went properly with the install but affter the reboot I am still left with TWRP.
Any suggestions on how to get my phone working again. I am downloading the 10i KDZ file now but was hoping there was another answer.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Power off or pull battery for a sec.
Hold vol down and power button - as soon as you see LG logo - release and immediately re-press power button only while continuing to hold vol down.
Factory reset screen will come up if you did it right. Use vol down to select YES twice to factory reset. ( It won't really reset anything but the recovery boot trigger ).
You'll end up in twrp. Just select reboot system and profit

Thanks for posting this. Same thing just happened to me and now my phone is back to normal.
I was installing the Xposed Framework on my Verizon Galaxy S7 (G930V) on Nougat 7.0 and it ended up hanging on the Verizon logo on boot. It won't even respond to the power button at this point. What might I have done wrong?
Prior to install, I had done the following:
Stock Nougat ROM
Used a root method from the forum, have SuperSU and FlashFire
Successfully flashed the Xposed framework through FlashFire and wiped Dalvik and Cache
Installed the latest Xposed installer (3.1.4)
Went through the framework installation from the installer, seemed to be going fine until after it rebooted and hung as described. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I can do it, you can help! I am trying to install Xposed as well. I have the same issue you had but it looks like you got a step further. I flashed the framework in flashfire and that's when the phone fails to boot again. I didn't however select to wipe the dalvik cache. Could that be the reason? Also, did flash the SDK 24 Arm64 version of the framework? Thanks.
