I got my XDA II (Chinese Version) and try to use TV Remote 5.5. However, I tried using the built-in profile (Panasonic TV), no response. I tried to learn from the remote, but it couldn't learn and 'Time Out".
Is there any setting needed to be set to use the IR remote function?

I dont think the IRda on the XDA-II is of the same class as those IRs used by the likes of TVs etc.... sorry, means good Ir data rates but your remote control software will not work.
someone feel free to correct me
XDA II and TV Remote 5.5
Thanks.
Then, how can I use my XDA II as remote control for my tv and dvd?
sohand
I've sent an E-Mail to the TV Remote Controller author regarding about this issue. But no response at all. I've been using it for my XDA for a long time.
i gotten it to work
but the solution was to get as close to the device
as 30cm
which kinda makes the name remote a joke
here are some links if using it as a remote is very very important

Rudegar,
You are lucky. I installed the TV remote, but could not send remote signal or learn from a remote control....
Any idea on the setting in the device.
FYI, I can transmit data through the IR...

First: sorry for my english...
The problem is, that the tv remote program cannot connect to the ir port.
but i cannot find why... it might be another program...
i figure that out, when i took an camera to view the ir beam...
when i send an message via ir, i saw the ir beam, but when i send
signals via a tv remote program, i saw nothing...
i thing, some registry hack can solve this problem...
i hope soon....
I have tried a couple, but one does not support the processor type and the other just hangs my MDA.
Anyone know of any decent remote control apps to control TV's etc?
I have tried 2... one from Vito and one called TV Remote Controller 5.7. I have been unable to get either to work and no support at all from either on my support requests.
I probably try like 4-5 programs but non work.
You'll be struggling anyway. IR on the wizard is a short range type so unless you want get off the couch to go shove the PDA a foot away from the TV you'll be disappointed.
I do not care about distance of remote as i desperatly need something that will allow me to access the service modes of my 55" television. A quick in and out and not for normal use.
I just need software that works for Philips Service modes. And that is a special order remote if i cant get this software going.
It's getting off topic but why don't you just buy a universal remote - they come with the codes for the various manufacturers.
JoninLA, i agree with you
the only time i ever used a sftware remote...was at school....used to rewind the tapes and turn tv on and off
otherwise its not for everyday use
and i also heard the wizard IR device cant supprt the signal..
The Wizard's OMAP processor is giving everyone fits. There are no remote control apps that work on the Wizard yet. Novii looks to be closest; they just signed a developer agreement with TI. Read more about this here.

Click to collapse
So does NoviiRemote Deluxe - more than 700 codes are available. I finally found a codebase for my TV that is 17 years old
I'm building a HTPC that will be connected to a network with wifi, Is there any good options for remote controlling it with tytn (through wifi), other than just using logmein or similar remote desktop software?
Anyone got experience with this?
Bump
Anyone figure this out yet?
Clicker is what I use to control my HTPC.
You can find it at www.salling.com
There are many VNC versions out there that are free that will work.
ERR: This is reverse, control the PDA from your Desktop
There is also http://www.soti.net/
hii all ... i just found a universal remote ... but me ppc dosent have any infrared im using LG KS20 .. dose any one know if it is any other Univesal remote with bluetooth

remote is infra!!!
Panosz!
The answer to your question is yess and nooo!!Unfortunatly you can control only infra devices with universal remote. But in Finnland people had a n experiment with bluetooth, and some of the hous door handle can be opend with bluetooth, but think about the pairing process. It is deadly.I mean work!!
So remote is infra, controlling some starnge things like windows or doors yesssss you can do it with bluetooth, but you need on the other side the receever as well!!

i use SallingClicker alot as a universal remote for my computer. It can control almost anything on your computer (you can create your own scripts)..
Will that work with windows media centre?
works very well with windows media player, but didn't try with media center yet. but you can edit the script easily (javascript)
What about PS3? The PS3 uses a bluetooth remote control which is purchased separately for watching movies and other things. Can we use our bluetooth winmo devices to control a PS3?
Hello guys,
I am looking to get my phone to do screencast, I work either from home or in the office, and it is a pain to check IM's and SMS from the phone all day and night. I want to be able to just use the PC that I am working at.
I installed the SDK and attempted to get screencast to work on my rooted android 4.3 Note 3. However all I get is the picture of my phone, I can control the phone from the phone and the screencast updates, however it does not work in reverse whereby using the mouse and keyboard to control the phone.
I was just wondering if anyone has attempted this, has better solution, or knows that it will or will never work.
any help would be appreciated.
I think you would try teamviewer quicksupport with samsung addon
