I notice the same with the speakers, I should go around 70% in order to start sounding decently.
On the other hand, jack volume is pretty decent.
Yeah i know... But this is not right... And very annoying issue ti me... Coz i sometime set the volume little low and i couldn't hear any calls notification.. Same with all social apps... ?
Yes there is problem with the sound volume for calls and notifications they try to fix it in every update but still not perfect.
In b123 the call volume was very loud but notifications low,now b151 they are both quiet.
Yes i noticed that after update from B123 to 124 then 151... Is there any secret code that could help to re fix this problem ?
Same problem... I am on B152 (P10 Plus) and ringtones/notifications sounds are very very quiet... hope in B160 solve the problem. Also P10 is affected by this...
I hope so... My previous p9 was awesome in sound quality
As soon as B160 is certified I will install it with Firmware Finder via proxy... I'm bored with quiet sounds, I lose my calls and messages... hoping in B160
Yes i will do the same... Its really so bad to open YouTube and set the volume to the max to be able to enjoy the sound... I hope they fix it really
Anyone new news?
No news... Waiting for b160 official...
Update P10 B162 out (official)... P10 Plus still waiting...
Updated... Working like charm
Updating now... Hope will sounds good!?
Updated... same sound...70% to hear a bit...
Yeah i noticed that too... Disappointed
It's incredible Huawei haven't fix it yet... May be hardware problem...
No I don't think so.. Coz if u set the vol to the max its so loud and clear... It is definitely sw issue

Absolutely, they need to just adjust their scaling. 70% needs to be 50% with everything remapped accordingly
I agree.. But i noticed that with some types of vids and sound formats it is changing... I mean i think the volume with some types of vids formats can be so loud with 50%
Is there any third party app to increase the volume?

I have bought an Xperia X10 about a month and a half from now, since day one(even with low in-call volume) i noticed little distortion. It was Build number 014 i guess.
When i updated my phone to R2BA026 the in-call volume increased so do the distortion. Distortion only exist when call volume is set to maximum( pretty noticeable ) and when i decease it one level distortion kinda disappear.
I'm wondering if anybody got the same problem or it's just my device? (so i can go and replace it at SE support center)
Sorry for my bad English.
I would say return it to where you bought it or SE service centre. Mine is fine even on full volume.
Good luck.
Just making sure, do you have the latest update? 026
you know they give in-call volume slight pump in this update
my call volume is still very low after the update R2BA026. I HATE SONY
Ive had 3 what do it.

im running fw 26 and the sound sounds pretty clean, and no low in call volume for me

After flashing 026 version for about ten times, I have noticed that every time the in call volume has been different. Since last time I did it, I have been stucked with the lowest volume ever so there is something different even in flashing the same firmware over.
I hope the 2.1 will eventually fix this issue/
I got my OP2 4 days back and it has been quite a disappointment switching from the OnePlus One in terms of sound quality and volume levels.
The volume level is horrendous, both for ringtones/notifications and media. I'm sure this will eventually be solved by a kernel or a OS update but as of now, even if I am with a group of friends and the phone is in my pocket, I can't hear the ringtone. Moreover, there is no option to unlink ringtone and notifications.
Before anyone suggests, my volume levels are highest.
J.
It is true. Volume is too low. For me it is not a problem because I'm almost always on silent mode. Anyway there is one volume thing which is also broken...
When playing games it does not make a visible difference if the volume is on the highest lvl or almost muted. There is a difference, but IMO speaker is to loud when You set it's level as lowest as possible -_- (but not entirely, not to mute)
You think the same ?
It is a problem for me as I go to crowded places often.
I don't play games but I listen to a lot of music and apart from the volume levels, the sound quality is also very bad. Spotify sounds like a radio channel being broadcast from a garage.
I don't have the issue of speaker being too loud like you have. But OnePlus needs to up their game. Maybe they should concentrate on these issues instead of creating hype around an invite system.

Can someone post the mixer_paths.xml? I'm waiting for my OPT to ship, but it'd be interesting to see if we could modify the mixer_paths.xml to work like the OPO speaker mods.
I did modify it and there is a little difference. Still, not as good as the OPO.

could you highlight which lines has been changed?
That's funny because I found the volume was way too loud on my OnePlus Two, even at the lowest setting. I disabled Audio Effects and I can now set the volume to a more appropriate level.
How did you disable Audio Effects? @thegregulator

Go into the app Audio Tuner and toggle it off. You can also toggle it off directly when playing media on the speaker, just press either of the volume buttons and look for the "AudioEffects" toggle.
No kidding. I got mine yesterday and it's so quiet that I'm concerned whether the alarms will wake me up; I'm a very heavy sleeper. I was just trying to listen to something on TuneIn which was quite audible on my OPO and I was straining to hear.
Go into audio tuner> turn the preset to "flat".. turn maxxbass off... turn maxxspace off...
Just done what omegablaze said but increased max dialog to max and my volume went up through headphones but not really seeing a difference though the phone. I was wondering if the are any custom flashes out there like extreme beats + viper4android that I have just seen on YouTube. U see I'm new to flashing and root etc so any help would be great because it's very hard to hear any calls that come though

well as per what i have researched there are many people who are facing this issue. Furthermore i have 2 other phones lumia 1520 and a motox and they both are very loud compared to one plus two. i have compared the same notification tones on all three phones and the lumia 1520 is the loudest whereas one plus is the quitest. In a noisy environment you dont come to know that it is ringing especially while riding a thumping motorbike.
My advice based on what I'm currently doing is to buy some nice headphones. The ones I'm using are Sony MDR-10RC they really compliment each other in looks and if you play with the audio settings it equals very nice sound. But if it's a case of you are not hearing you phone when its ringing just download zedge and search (loud ring tone). Yes I'm not a fan of oneplus 2 stock speakers but I hope this helps you out.

I also have problem with ringtones i work in factory on cnc and i can't heare phone ring tone and notification particularly
Guys, what about increase the volume of the headset or the headphones for listen to music louder? I saw the file, but I couldn't guess which value to change.
Same problem. Too low during Call, and loudspeaker during call. Notifications and ring tones too low too.
Headphones are fine though.

I guess something needs to be done, I also find volume very low
Not sure if this is a ROM bug or just a general problem with the Pro 3 X720 but I find in-call volume is very quiet. Even with the volume on max, calls are often difficult to hear. (I'm running latest OmniRom)
Any ideas?
Thanks.

While in-call, switch to speakerphone, then turn it off (the speakerphone). It'll be much better now, the adjustment of in call volumr will work. It keeps on working until you reboot the phone.

I tried that (having seen this suggestion on a previous thread) but it didn't help. Calls are still really quiet.
EDIT: duplicate reply
Probably an issue with your ROM, on stock the volume is plenty when full, way louder than my ex Samsung Note...
The max volume is loud enough for me.
On the other hand, the min volume is still too loud for me when I'm using the USB Type C stereo headset provided by Le Eco.
Any idea on how to dial down the volume further ?

Hello
Recently i have been noticing that if i raise my ringtne level the sound comes out a bit static. Its happening with the alarm and the ringtone.
The videos are working fine but this is soo frustrating. It
hasnt been a month since i got this cell.
My screen resolution is FHD+
Yes! On default message sound, on every notification sound to be honest... It sounds like it's distorted, don't know how to explain, but we are talking about the same thing... But that seems to be "normal", i tried my friend's phone and it's the same. Don't know if the ringtones are low quality or the speaker can't hit high notes.
Yes ! This is exactly what has been happening !
Yea.. almost as if it was clipping.. so I never have it at max volume

Hello,
In low 1-2 level volume, i hear cracking some kind of white noise!! (Video, music, podcast) its really disturbing when you listen night and quiet place. I tried this my friends phone Poco, mi a1 same problem occurs. High volume has no problem. Is this common problem of xiaomi phones? I dont know this is software or hardware problem. Just using a week and I do not want to give the phone to technical service
Thanks for your help

Are you using any headphones or something maybe it is the problem
Or a network problem while buffering the video or audio

About what noise are you talking about? if you hear a small humming noise it is quite normal when Audio is active, have you ever put your ear next to External stereo speakers? They produce low noise if the music stopped or when idle but connected to a power supply, amplifier noise that is usual thing. I don't hear that much noise only if I put my phone next to my ear with the lowest volume but still it is not practical, no idea what are you trying to do or...

No, I'm talking about the phone's own speaker. When i use headphone wireless/wired, bluetooth speaker and amplifier there is no problem. This problem is present (some kind of intermittent walkie-talkie noisy sound.. i couldnt described) in every application with sound . I have tried youtube, podcast, apple music, spotify...
I use a lot to listen to podcasts at night (low volume is necessary), this problem is not really acceptable. I've used cheaper phones, I've never seen anything like it.. I went to the mi store today and tried on the same phone. there was no problem. I don't think this problem can be solved by updating miui 11 or something. (by the way I reset the phone twice and set up last miui software)
Thanks for your answers :good:

No. Still there.
Was going to say it does not happen for me on YouTube. But... U guessed it, it does. it's not as bad and only happens on first volume level but not above that.
Then on the browser it does happen between 1-3 I think. Kind of sucks but definitely not a big deal considering the price and everything. Would be interesting to find out why though.

me too!
Today i updated my phone to miui v11.0.1 pfjmıxm / global mi9t and still has this crappy issue. ?
Is there anyone facing this issue with EU rom? ?
It's definitely issue in global ROMs. I have the same problem
I have mi 9 SE EU ROM and I have noticed the problem !
I have a MI9T Pro and having this hissing and cracking sound that is more prominent on lower levels of volume. It's is driving me mad.
I am using MiUI 12.0.2 and the earphone is a Bluetooth Echobud from Amazon.
I was about to return the earbuds, but decided to try the Echobud on an iPhone X and a Motorola G9 and it worked perfectly.
I am thinking about installing a generic Google OS on the phone is the problem persist. It might be a software problem?
