Any idea?
Are you using any headphones or something maybe it is the problem
Or a network problem while buffering the video or audio

About what noise are you talking about? if you hear a small humming noise it is quite normal when Audio is active, have you ever put your ear next to External stereo speakers? They produce low noise if the music stopped or when idle but connected to a power supply, amplifier noise that is usual thing. I don't hear that much noise only if I put my phone next to my ear with the lowest volume but still it is not practical, no idea what are you trying to do or...

No, I'm talking about the phone's own speaker. When i use headphone wireless/wired, bluetooth speaker and amplifier there is no problem. This problem is present (some kind of intermittent walkie-talkie noisy sound.. i couldnt described) in every application with sound . I have tried youtube, podcast, apple music, spotify...
I use a lot to listen to podcasts at night (low volume is necessary), this problem is not really acceptable. I've used cheaper phones, I've never seen anything like it.. I went to the mi store today and tried on the same phone. there was no problem. I don't think this problem can be solved by updating miui 11 or something. (by the way I reset the phone twice and set up last miui software)
Thanks for your answers :good:

I wonder if this issue has been resolved with the new miui 11 update? Actually i don't think they are aware of the existence of such a problem.

No. Still there.
Was going to say it does not happen for me on YouTube. But... U guessed it, it does. it's not as bad and only happens on first volume level but not above that.
Then on the browser it does happen between 1-3 I think. Kind of sucks but definitely not a big deal considering the price and everything. Would be interesting to find out why though.

if more people control their phones for this , we can understand which rom has a problem or is it related to the rom :good:

me too!
Today i updated my phone to miui v11.0.1 pfjmıxm / global mi9t and still has this crappy issue. ?
Is there anyone facing this issue with EU rom? ?
It's definitely issue in global ROMs. I have the same problem
I have mi 9 SE EU ROM and I have noticed the problem !
I have a MI9T Pro and having this hissing and cracking sound that is more prominent on lower levels of volume. It's is driving me mad.
I am using MiUI 12.0.2 and the earphone is a Bluetooth Echobud from Amazon.
I was about to return the earbuds, but decided to try the Echobud on an iPhone X and a Motorola G9 and it worked perfectly.
I am thinking about installing a generic Google OS on the phone is the problem persist. It might be a software problem?

I have noticed that when using the supplied earphones I can hear static background noise when I scroll through menus and buttons while music is playing. This only happens when music is activated and I can hear a low annoying fuzzy static that gets louder the more I scroll for example.
I can barely hear it when I put on headphones but can with earphones, seems quite strange wonder if anyone else experiences the same thing?
No one? Just try it, turn the volume down while listening to music then go to home screen and scroll left constantly or right and the hissing noise will get louder.
Audio chip or whatever must be quite crappy.
Restarted phone and can't seem to hear it now. Strange.
I'm glad that by talking to your self you've managed to fix this problem.
I spoke to myself to soon! Its back and I suspect it has something to do with the wifi sharing. As I activated kies air, uploaded a song, listened to song and hissing is back! argh.

Try force stopping it? I've frozen most Samsung apps but even before then I had no problems at all with something like this tbh...although I don't use the stock music player.
I have annoying static background noise while using earphones, it can be better heard whilr using the phone when no music is playing.
This is a general issue or isolated cause?
I have this!!! I seem to get possibly some kind of audible distortion just before i play a song, and then when i pause the song and touch the screen it makes the weird static noise (and possibly when the song is playing as well, but its less identifiable). For me this noise only lasts for about 5 seconds after i have paused it and then stops. And yes, it also seems to be louder in earphones than headphones.
HAVE YOU FOUND A FIX? Firmware upgrades? Sent it back and got a replacement? what did you guys do? Let me know, thanks.
Could it be evp?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I installed the Backslash Kernel and THEN noticed this, rebooted and it went.
It came back a while after. I also unplugged the headphones with the music app running and the phone rebooted.
Re-flashed the CF-Root KG1 Kernel and it went away, not had any 'noise' or reboots since :/
I got a replacement from orange as this issue was too distracting. My replacement has just come, but exactly the same 'static noise while and after listening to music' issue is still here!!! Is this really what its like for everyone but people don't bother saying?

KERNAL VERSION: [email protected] #2
On my last phone i tried flashing to generic KE7 AND KF3 (using odin). Both seemed to make the sound last for not as long after i pause the music, but did not solve the issue. Will rooting the phone, using different kernals and whatnot fix this? Could it be a dodgy batch of phones from orange? (I have no knowledge of what rooting and kernals actually is, let alone what ones i should use)
I have also experienced this. It seems the screen is the problem since the noise is gone when the screen is off.
What headphones are you using?
I have used the supplied headphones, but i have also tried other headphones as well. All seem to give the same sound but possibly at varying levels of volume. Do you still have the problem?
I use the Sennheiser CX300 II and I do not experience it any longer.
It depends on the impedance of the headphones. If the impedance is 16 ohm I cannot hear it but on 12 ohm headphones it is pretty obvious (but they are able to play louder).
I have not tried the supplied ones myself because they ALWAYS sound awful but if you had a specific name for a proper headphone you have tried, you can easily find their impedance on the internet.
Hmm well i have tried my creative EP-630 headphones which have impedance of 16 Ohm and i can still hear the noise. I have used many terrible headphones on terrible 'mp3 players' over the years and i have never experienced this, so i don't see why i should now go out and buy some new headphones. Although if you are really saying that the Sennheiser CX300 II headphones completely cured your problem then it might be worth it? Was your problem exactly the same as the one i described? Cheers.
It's obviously a problem of the audio amp picking up electrical noise from the other components of the device. I'm skeptic that anything can be done to solve it.
I also can hear some faint background noise on mine when scroling the screen and using memory, but anyway it's very faint... not enough to bother even in quiet environments.
I have to agree, it's bad shielding in the design. Something we will all have to live with.
I notice it most between songs when listening to music. Each songs starts with a little blast of noise.
Hmmm well i've heard that with certain kernals it is not there. Also for me, simply changing to different stock firmware reduced the time that the static sound lasts after i pause a song, so surely that can mean it can be stopped altogether. Im not prepared to give up on this (yet).
I would be grateful for other information and reports from other people about this issue, even simply if you don't have it. :/

but i have found that it does with some earphones... i guess its a matter of shielding, as posted before.
Hey all
Would just like to know a cause and perhaps a solution to a problem I have.whenever I have my earphones plugged in there is a crackly sound every couple of moments.this happens no matter what volume my phone is on.it ceases when I have any form of media playing.so I would play a video and lower the volume to min to check and the crackling stops.
The problem is not in the earphones as I've tried with many including an expensive pair of headphones.anybody have any idea cheers folks
By the way I also have this problem my Xperia Neo
It's due to the speaker being clogged up by ear gunk they need to be cleaned

But he already made a point that it's software related... "so I would play a video and lower the volume to min to check and the crackling stops."
That's an interesting observation about it being a software problem.being a software problem would it be more likely that I'd be able to fix the problem myself?
The last thing I want to do is factory reset so I'm looking for other options before I try that.
Thanks for the replies lads

I too am having this issue, if it can be called as such, except it happens only when I plug it through my car's audio system.
Similar as above, it goes *pop* - *pop* - *pop*, etc every second or so (on the audio system).
As above, it also happens when there is no sound (any form, media-navigation-TTS-call) playing at all.
Out of curiosity do you have an amp of any sorts for your earphones/headphones ?
I haven't tried with an app but the popping you described is the problem I'm having.maybe I'm just fussing but it's a bit annoying when browsing on the phone with earphones.
Thanks for the replies
hi, mine is XXUBMJ1, after 3 weeks of usage, the volume automatically increase sometimes, what could be the problem, is it a bug or hardware ? should upgrade the firmware ?

Then I have no idea, sorry. My other guess would be is that you're accidentally pressing the volume key in you pocket or something without realizing it. You could try factory resetting the phone. It can sometimes fox weird issued like yours.

have u check the adaptive option under the settings->sound->adapt sound?
Could it be that the adaptive sound is processing at certain point of time trying to give you the best sound that its think of?
Yes, I have experienced this under the following conditions:
-Phone just purchased, unrooted, completely stock. Playing music with PowerAmp with and without the EQ/Tone/Limit features, also happened with stock music app. The effect nearly blew out my eardrums once, but it happened several times. Music would play and very suddenly there would be a violent increase in sound, almost as if an EQ crashed. Sound went back to normal after I pressed the volume rocker in either direction. I am not so sure that this has to do with Adaptive Sound because I remember experiencing the same problem before and after i configured it. Overall, incredibly annoying and dangerous for my ears.
-Phone rooted, Viper4Android installed as a user app. The same problem happens using PowerAmp, Xenoamp and stock music app, but the increase is not so violent (not sure why, yet). Marginally tolerable, but still very annoying.
I have not found a fix yet, but still keeping an eye open.
That being said, my phone has music playing almost all day every day so I probably encounter the problem more often than others. I use earbuds, headphones and my car stereo. There is a Droid-Life.com review that mentions the issue and credits it to the phone's audio jack: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/10/01/samsung-galaxy-note-3-review/
See the subsection for Audio Jack Issues. Here is an excerpt:
"Then, after a few minutes without touching anything while at full volume, the volume just explodes and you are left deafened by the surprise volume attack."
I would be interested to see if anyone reports the problem when playing music via the phone's speaker.

I have exactly the same issue you have. Same XXUBMJ1 ans using the device for a month now. Unknown and just reported to Samsung and was asked to walk in to get advice.

Yup, the low volume problem still exists after the ota update.I use mivi-t-beats Bluetooth headset & the sound is extremely low even at 100% , no base nothing just flat sound as compared to when I use them with any other phone. They just sound about 65% at 100% volume when used with m1 pro as compared to any other phone though it has aptx hd audio codec:crying::crying:

Hi guys, I'm having a problem with the Mi 9t front audio, whenever I hear audios on WhatsApp the sound gets echoed and a hiss, as if the sound burst.
The problem decreases slightly when activating mono audio.
Another problem is that WhatsApp audio starts loud and then decreases, can anyone help me?
Sorry for english, not my language.
Test your phone - go to settings, about phone, press core version few times
I bet it's related to radio version
Any news on this?
I'm facing the same issue on my 9T Pro.
