This is very annoying.
When I wake up my phone, and the lock screen appears, the clock is not updated for 1-2 seconds.
It is very odd.
Very often, I just quickly unlock the phone to check the time and see the time of the the last time I woke it up, for 1-2 seconds, before the clock updates to the current time.
Is this happening to anyone else?
I can not believe an error like this got past the testers...
BTW: I already applied the OTA update.
Thanks,

So uh...delay in what kind of update?? Heh..
And I've had issues with widgets not updating properly. If I use a Extended Controls widget and tap the WiFi icon, the WiFi will turn off or on, but the widget will not update it's visual appearance to show that the WiFi is on or off. The clock has not changed time a couple times as well. The Flipbook widget freezes sometimes and some other widgets just don't even work at all. I don't know what to make of it. And I haven't updated yet.
Just suggesting a spell check on your title

I have experienced this issue but it's no more than a minor inconvenience. I am used to it from my old HTC days and the Sense clock widget.

Hi lovely guys of the Note 3 forum!!
I've had my Note 3 for some time now and I was wondering if my screen is defect since it does act a little weird. I hope you can clarify this for me
Whenever I put my screen on low brightness, the screen tend to leave a trail of purple color behind whenever I scroll/move something. It'd be very nice if anyone with a Note 3 could test this for me, if u are having the same problem or if it's just me
A good way to test this, is to set brightness to 0% and then pull the notificationcenter down and try to swipe the notifications away slowly and look closely, if u can find some purple trail leaving behind the swiping object. To see this clearly, you can download the app Lux and set the brightness to sub-zero. Try -50% and it should be very easy to see. Would mean a ton to me if you could report back. I need to return my device asap if it's defect.
Thank you very much!! <3
EDIT: Here is a video of the problem!

I can't see this at zero brightness. I even installed lux and set it to subzero, and I still can't see it. I'm using an SM-900T.
I think I know what you are talking about. I also believe my smartphone has same problem. As an example if you download BBC News application, then scroll down to end of page and pull further you will see this tail of light appear. It also does this in the settings page when you scrol up or down but you have to get to bottom or top of page and pull further

Not sure if that was sarcasm... BEcause I hope it was.
That's the replacement for the 'bounce at end of page' that Apple successfully sued Samsung over. It now glows.

could it be that some batches of screen are affected and some are not? it doesn't bother me too much though.

With tiny fonts in a really really dark room with really really low brightness I notice this. Lets bring on some more make believe "issues"... HAHA
I wonder if anyone is also experiencing sensitivity issues with the new 38R OTA.
In my case It is evident when scrolling (homescreen, twitter, whatsapp....) and typing. Also the capacitive buttons seem a bit unresponsive from time to time.
What about you guys?
Edit: here you have the prove (bad scrolling and multitouch problem) i think i am going to RMA
Multitouch and sensitivity issues in 38R: http://youtu.be/KSAl1Uh_Src

Suddenly the issue has been gone for a week, no problems at all since 15 October... I am so confused
Edit 2:
The sensibility issue is back on 24/10/2014 without changing anything

I am really not sure... the last couple days I was on 33R CM11S with AK kernel and did not notice the problem at all. But it is not something that happens often in my case. So it is possible that I just did not wait long enough for it to appear.
I will stay on stock cm11s 38R for a few more days and then probably switch back to AK kernel to see if my previous experience is reproducible.
Did you even try to use a different kernel? Did you still have the issue?

Will they RMA for a refund or just a new phone? I'm not convinced this will ever be fixed in software, and I'd rather go back to a mainstream manufacturer at this point.

They will, at least, replace your phone. I did and am waiting for my new one to arrive. If multitouch issues remain (and most likely will) i'll ask for a refund. I don't really care if the phone is "cheap for specs", this flaw is unacceptable.
My S3 is much worse hardware wise and feels SO much better while typing or anything else touch related. I did have to open a ticket and later show up a few videos of multitouch malfunctioning to oneplus. They decided it was a malfunctioning unit and i was eligible for a replacement. They never mentioned bacon 55 or a "known issue" common to every phone that would be solved at some point later on.
It's taking forever too. It's been over a month and it's mainly their fault because they take so long to reply to every single email. They did ask my VAT number before hand so they could send an invoice with it to my customs that would facilitate the returning process. Despite that, my phone got stuck on my country's customs precisely because they sent them an invoice without it and was up to me to ask it to oneplus. I waited about a week for what seems an poorly excel made document (compared to my country's invoices this is a joke of a document ). I sent it to the courier who picked up and they forwarded it to customs. Stuff went smooth from that point on. Oh yea, i'm from Portugal and even though my phone was sent to me from the UK the first time, to return a phone, you're going to send it to Hong Kong. All free of charge. I did have to print loads of pre made documents (about 10 pages?), because apparently sending anything with a battery is a big deal safety wise.
Even though they are, like someone said, polite, they do take a good while to reply to anything and aren't very keen to answer to anything that falls a bit out of their "process". For example, I've asked them several times if they would send me a new phone before or after a return mine. They never really cared enough to answer. Their English also seems translated by google sometimes. Several different people may take care of the same case. I've had about 5 or 6 different names reply to me and they all just use their first name like "Wilona". It made me stop to think i was sending my already paid phone to some place across the world because this randomly named guy told me so by email - in any other different scenario this would scream of a scam. But I've placed my RMA through an official ticket on their website, they actually made a new order request from their store on their website, they use very well known couriers with tracking numbers and it's the only way i'm ever getting a chance of having a properly working phone.
I did warn them before sending my "faulty" unit back they can expect me asking for a full refund if this new one isn't working any better.
I have been on liquidsmooth rom since I got the phone, no problems with touchscreen whatsoever, Installed new 38 CMS today and started to experience that problem. Also, cms lags compare to AOSP, this is pretty weird

Flashing ColorOS for me gave a much better touchscreen experience, things worked flawlessly in all apps for me(Amazon is my biggest issue, any scrolling over a description/review would select it and move you to that section to read it, does not happen at all in ColorOS), so im thinking its software

My touchscreen seems to be very picky as to where I touch. Sometimes it takes a few attempts. Since 38 I have had random reboots. I m stock rooted without anything else flashed.

If you can say that you're a lucky one. It can render your phone completely unusable. Imagine your phone randomly assuming touches when you're not even touching it, non stop (stuff opening, key input, etc). You can't do anything else while it happens and the only way to stop is by rebooting. 5 to 10 times a day, everyday. Also, just about anything multitouch like simply zooming on a webpage has a 50% chance of working or send your phone spazing on a zooming in/out frenzy. So I'd say it isn't exaggerating, you just aren't experiencing the worse of it.
I saw a review on YouTube in which the reviewer mentions that OP5 has some kind of jitter when scrolling compared to the other Snapdragon 835 powered phone, in this case, the HTC U11. I searched the OP3/3T forums and saw that it is an old problem.
Do you happen to notice something familiar on your OP5 when scrolling thru different apps?

Yes it does and to be honest it's annoying, sometimes it's like a shaking jello effect when scrolling and sometimes there's awful jerkiness and stuttering when scrolling through certain web pages in chrome, have to say this should not happen out the box, i hope the scrolling issue gets resolved or I'm sending mine back.

It's like the refresh rate is set at 45fps for eg instead of 60fps like a flagship should be, there's a jelly shaking effect everywhere you scroll but some apps chrome for eg sometimes hitches and stutters, not acceptable for this kind of hardware tbh.
I've not had an android phone that hasn't stuttered to some extent in Chrome.
I can say though that mine has improved over the day or so since I've had the phone and currently is very smooth.
Does anyone have an example of a website that is more prone to lag? I'll try it out.

Forcing gpu rendering didn't work for me still the same, open the app drawer and scroll up and down fairly fast you'll see a shimmering effect, also even scrolling up and down in these forums sometimes when the square adverts pop it's stutters like ****, it reminds me of having vsync disabled on my pc that kind off effect, it's like OP have disabled vsync because with it enabled it stuttering even worse like it can't keep up to 60fps, which i find really strange with this kind of hardware, it needs to get sorted fairly quickly, it doesn't do this on my huawei mate 9 or my Nexus 6p, also there's touch latency issues, remember hearing carl pei going on about it in the launch on tuesday, saying they've improved latency when in fact they haven't, if you scroll up and down fast sometimes it's not picking up your touches and skips and just scrolls the last way it detected, I'm very suspicious they new about this problem when they were on about touch latency in the launch.

I have no scroll latency or lag on my phone. Everything is buttery smooth. I didn't change any settings.
I used the oneplus 3t for a while and initially I thought the phone was fast and lag free. However I always used to have a strange feeling that all wasn't as great as it seemed. I use talon for twitter a lot and with the oneplus 3t it was hit and miss at times it would be smooth when scrawling and other times it would lag and stutter. I kinda blamed the app and even sent a few messages to the developer of the app (he never replied lol). I decided to move back to my note 7 (yes it's a fire hog but I love it lol),and well well it was way smother and lag free than the 3t. Am sure you can eventually tweak the oneplus do to what you want and improve lags etc but I just never had the time. Saying that I will keep an eye on this thread as I intend to buy it.
Cant say much about the lag since I havent got my phone yet, but could somebody give an idea of me a try? If I remember correctly, there used to be some accessability settings in Android, some installed Apps where enabled there by default and caused jitter/lag for me, back on my Nexus 5. Can someone test if this could be the cause? (if this setting still exists, no Idea on what Android version this happened to me) - Either way, im scared now that I wont be to happy with the device, lets hope there will be a fix soon.

Yes!!! You see it to. I posted this on Reddit. Everyone check this bull**** out:
Noticed this as soon as I setup the phone. I don't think I've ever seen an AMOLED panel do this. It's almost like it's refreshing each line of pixels too slowly/unevenly during a single frame?
Here's an album of images and video captured from 240 FPS video. View them one after another. The screen refreshes by starting in the bottom left corner and finishes the frame in the top right corner... the icons and text on each line of apps goes out of alignment as I scroll.
Text and elements on the screen stretches out when scrolling down, and smushes together when scrolling up. Straight lines look wavy when scrolling left or right as well!

You must have a golden sample then, one thing is for sure it is NOT buttery smooth, the only place this phone is smooth to my eyes is when side scrolling left and right, the rest is a mess to blunt, there's a guy who did a YouTube vid showing the problem...
Here's another quote from someone in the one plus forums with the same issue.
"Some outlets have reported on a "jello effect" on the OnePlus 5 when scrolling through apps, and I have noticed this myself as well. Right now I just noticed that in horizontally scrolling apps (Snapchat in my case) I get a rolling shutter effect, where the bottom of the screen updates the image faster than the top, amplifying this jello effect. V-Sync of course makes display response time slower, but also ensures that the image never gets cut In half. Can anyone else comment on this? I will try to get it on video whenever I'm home from Copenhagen. It can be quite noticable when you know it and think about it" if vsync has been disabled because they have installed a slow touch response screen or something mines going back.
Ok, I see it too. It's very subtle but there is a stretching compression going on when stopping scrolling.
Doesn't bother me in the slightest but here it is in slow-mo. Most obvious on the final scroll-down at the end of the video.

mine is butter
Mine is too. In fact if I showed you it in person, I don't think you'd see it. It's that subtle and I think you really have to look for it.
Can you see it in the video? It's not the jitter as that is just the result of slowing a video down from 240fps. It's a slight wave as it stops.
If anyone is reading these threads and thinks there's a problem with the OP5 - there's not. We all have the same phones here and some people can't even see the effect that is being described.

I did notice it right away. But I was in an impression that it's an animation. Various ROMs lets you set your render animation. Isnt this just it?
We were saying that too here but it's also present on Chrome.

I tried multiple apps included and I couldn't duplicate that scroll lag. I saw the video and mine definitely doesn't do that.
Some phones exhibit choppy scrolling, especially when navigating long web pages when multiple apps are running in the background. Rate this thread to express how you smooth scrolling feels on the Sony Xperia XZ1 under such conditions. A higher rating indicates that scrolling is always buttery smooth, even when you're reading a 10,000 word article on "how to kiss a girl".
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Butter
i have some lags when scrolling web.
i have a glass protector so is it the problem ?
Fast and smooth.
So my black one didn't exhibit an issue as far as I could tell. My silver one though on the other hand has an issue.

It's not lags, its like random ghost touches. So the phone thinks it was touched and it hops into whatever.

So I am testing the last Android version to see if that is what it is. I put the latest update on my silver one as soon as I got it but my black one had .145 on it and I did not see the issue. I will report back once I use .145 on the silver.
Ok seems like .145 is much better than .179 in this respect. The weird thing is that on .179 it has problems. It seems to be slow to react at first. It's like it sticks for a second and then it thinks that it was just a tap instead of a glide. Might be the kernel or might be the rom. Who knows? I guess it could be my device too.
Exact like my problem.
I guess it is software issue and will be fix soon

Yeah I'm just curious if anyone with other models have seen the issue on the new firmware or not. I never ran the new firmware on my black on before I returned it for the silver, so I can't say.
I have a silver XZ1, with the newest firmware, and have the same problem. It had this issue on the old firmware too. Sometimes when trying to scroll the phone registers a tap instead of a swipe. It is super annoying but it only happens once every 10 minutes on average.
It would be interesting to see if it also happens using a custom kernel / rom
I am using stock ROM with custom kernel, and it still happen.
Did you experience any random lag or UI's FPS drop?

Interesting it seems to be only for the silver. Can someone with another model chime in? Maybe Ill switch to the blue or black and see.
I didn't see the issue with my black one but I switched to the silver cause I thought black was boring. Maybe I need blue then.
I got my green Xperia in October 2017, and loved it. Now, the battery lasts about 3/4 as long even though I have absolutely babied it. Never charged it in a car. Always used Sony's Smart Charge. Still pitiful longevity. Also, during the 50% power saver mode, it's unusable. Keyboard has. to. be. typed. so. slowly. If I use the software home/back/switch buttons then it is guaranted to get stuck in the Google Now assistant and not let me use my phone. Exit power saving mode, works like new. It didn't initally cripple my phone this much. Must be from installing 20 apps and having used 25/32GB onboard space.
