I currently own an Australian Optus carrier variant of Galaxy S7 Edge (OPS) and want to install an Australian unlocked variant of Galaxy S7 Edge (XSA) since unlocked variant has recieved 2 updates since its launch but carrier variant has received none..
1. So my question is will this trip my KNOX Warranty and will it disable my Samsung Pay app use?
2. Also, if I install another country's Galaxy S7 Edge firmware that has the same model number, will this trip my KNOX Warranty and disable Samsung Pay Use?
3. Which country (code) receives the fastest new updates for the device SM-G935F?
4. Lastly, can I install a Galaxy S7 Edge firmware with a different model number? I want to try South Korean variant firmware..
You can flash any official Samsung firmware, and it won't trip Knox.
Someone else asked this earlier today: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/to-flash-generic-australian-rom-to-t3364559
Also, Samsung Pay isn't in Australia yet, and won't be for some time.
The Aussie carrier devices should get the latest update soon hopefully.

Thank you for your reply. Just one more question! I heard that if a phone is rooted, Samsung Pay app is not usable on that device afterwards so will it be the same for installing the other firmware? I know that Samsung Pay is not yet available in Australia but I would like to use it when it's launched.
Correct. Samsung Pay won't work on a rooted device.
Also, if you root, you will trip Knox. You can't use Samsung Pay on a Knox tripped device.
Even if you go back and flash stock firmware, this will not reverse Knox. This is permanent.
But if you just flash Samsung unbranded firmware over your Optus firmware, this is ok. Samsung Pay will still work.
Just to clear up something else, does your handset need to be unlocked before you can flash another official samsung firmware?

Find a UK firmware on https://www.sammobile.com/ and flash with Odin. Your warranty will be fine.
Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy a Galaxy S8 from Dubai and I live in India.
I have a few concerns,
One being the samsung pay and volte not working on india networks, although I read this can be managed by flashing an Indian Firmware and changing CSC or something of that sort.
I don't know the technical aspect of it at all so if someone could please guide and explain me.
Also I wanted to know the risks associated with it and also would it void my UAE warranty?
Also which model am I supposed to buy?
The G950F or the G950FD?
If someone could please walk me through the entire process.
It is cheaper by 300$ if I buy it from UAE than India so is it worth doing so?
I've a Galaxy S8 G950FD imported from UAE. Samsung Pay and 4G/LTE work fine here in India. Also, changing CSC is easy and it probably won't void your UAE warranty. To change to INS CSC, you just need to do *#272#IMEI# and then select INS CSC. If this doesn't work directly, then flash any INS firmware for G950FD using Odin and then do the *#272#IMEI# to change CSC.

How to flash the Indian firmware? Is it safe to do so I'm scared of bricking my phone.
Could you please share the method which you used and was successful for you?
Hey Guys,
I am kinda of a newbie out here.
I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy S8 G950FD from Dubai and want to use it in India.
I need the Samsung Pay and Volte to work in India.
Having read multiple threads I have understood that you have to change some CSC to India or flash the Indian firmware.
Although being a newbie I dont know how to do either and have the following questions:
1) I have read that UAE and India have the same firmware so all I have to do is change the CSC to India... How to do so?
2) Will changing my CSC code void my UAE warranty and if so is there a way to get it back?
3) After changing the CSC will I receive OTA updates and if so for which region India or UAE?
4) What are the chances of something going wrong and tripping knox, my phone is brand new and I want to make sure everything works fine.
If someone could please explain me in layman terms what CSC is and how the process of changing it works and answer my questions.
I will be truly grateful.
Thank you
Hello all,
I have brand new S8 SM-G950FD I bought from Saudi Arabia, It has android 7 and won't update to 8 I used smart switch and it's the same.
Now I am in Egypt and contacted the Customer service in Egypt and they told me that my phone's warranty isn't valid in Egypt and it will cost me 250EGP (about 15$) to update the firmware.
I can do it myself in about 15 minutes or so.
My question is will the customer service know if I flashed a ROM even if it's the official one?
Just flash it bro [emoji1303]

If you flash a stock firmware through odin Knox won't be tripped. Stock firmwares are signed by Samsung so warranty won't void.
