Installing different firmware version on Galaxy S7 Edge - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I currently own an Australian Optus carrier variant of Galaxy S7 Edge (OPS) and want to install an Australian unlocked variant of Galaxy S7 Edge (XSA) since unlocked variant has recieved 2 updates since its launch but carrier variant has received none..
1. So my question is will this trip my KNOX Warranty and will it disable my Samsung Pay app use?
2. Also, if I install another country's Galaxy S7 Edge firmware that has the same model number, will this trip my KNOX Warranty and disable Samsung Pay Use?
3. Which country (code) receives the fastest new updates for the device SM-G935F?
4. Lastly, can I install a Galaxy S7 Edge firmware with a different model number? I want to try South Korean variant firmware..

You can flash any official Samsung firmware, and it won't trip Knox.
Someone else asked this earlier today: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/to-flash-generic-australian-rom-to-t3364559
Also, Samsung Pay isn't in Australia yet, and won't be for some time.
The Aussie carrier devices should get the latest update soon hopefully.

Thank you for your reply. Just one more question! I heard that if a phone is rooted, Samsung Pay app is not usable on that device afterwards so will it be the same for installing the other firmware? I know that Samsung Pay is not yet available in Australia but I would like to use it when it's launched.

Correct. Samsung Pay won't work on a rooted device.
Also, if you root, you will trip Knox. You can't use Samsung Pay on a Knox tripped device.
Even if you go back and flash stock firmware, this will not reverse Knox. This is permanent.
But if you just flash Samsung unbranded firmware over your Optus firmware, this is ok. Samsung Pay will still work.

Just to clear up something else, does your handset need to be unlocked before you can flash another official samsung firmware?

Can't find Stock Firmware for dual Sim model SM935FD

Hi. I bought s7 edge in Thailand.
I was trying to find its stock firmware to get my phone a new fresh start. So far, I only found a link to Singapore firmware.
Here is from my phone
free upload
I heard you can flash single Sim firmware into dual one, but I was just afraid and prefer original firmware (before I root it soon hahaha)
Any idea where I can find one for my Thailand model.

OLB covering Malaysia/Philippines/Singapore/Thailand/Vietnam. I believe your latest update is of February 2016
Download Phone INFO Samsung from playstore and look for the active CSC. It has got a country shown as well.
I have a FD version as well with XME (Malaysia) CSC. But from what I have researched, for Galaxy S7 Edge specifically, Samsung has been releasing OTA updates (three times; once a month since Feb) for OJV countries (Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia,South Africa, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey), XSG (united arab emirates) and EU countries (NEE=Netherland, DBT=Germany, LUX=Luxembourg so far)
I have decided to flash the DBT firmware as from the look of firmware updates trend, Galaxies with DBT receive the earliest and most frequent updates from Sammy. Everything is working fine. No Knox triggered. Not too sure about the warranty; i guess it doesn't matter that much since samsung only looks at whether your knox has been triggered.
Good luck
thank you
can I flash German firmware only PDA or i have to flash CSC and MODEM too?

Question about Australian Firmware.

Hello. Im new to the S7 Edge forum coming from a note 4. Im on Puerto Rico (PCT) firmware G935FXXU1BPH1. I saw theres a new Australian firmware on sammobile G935FXXS1BPJ8. I was wondering If someone has tried it out and if theres any diference or changelog available. Ive read that some firmwares removes Volte. Would it be safe to flash it on my model. thanks in advance!
I am on Australian FW BPI6 .... Standard retail version with Sept security... No other updates... It could just be a carrier update??

It was updated for the Vodafone version of the phone.
Does Samsung Pay work on the S7 Edge international (G935F) with Puerto Rico (PCT) CSC?
You need your own carrier's CSC to be able to have VoLTE.

INS ROM for SM-G935F?

Does the Indian version of the ROM for International S7 Edge exists? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Read a post that said I can use a INS rom for SM-G935FD. Is it risk free? No bricking and stuff? Does that mean I can use a second Sim Card if I flash a G935FD ROM? I am currently on XSA (Australian) Firmware because of Whitepages and Samsung Pay. Is it worth flashing? Plan to return to USA after a month and wanted to know a better alternative to the XSA firmware that works well with USA carriers.

Change Region of my S8

Hello
I have a India Region S8 which is not locked by any provider. As I am in Australia I wanted to install the Australian version so that I get the Samsung Pay options for Australia.
Does anyone know how to update the Samsung Pay or entire OS to Australia?
Will installing official samsung version of Australian rom trip my knox?
Please help.

Since urs is an Indian model of the s8.. It will be the Exynos variant.
If Australia also sells Exynos variant (which I think it does), then u can directly download the Australian firmware from sammobile for ur model and flash it with odin.
Make sure u download the firmware of Exynos itself.
And flashing this wont trip Knox.

SM-G935F: Flashing different region ROM

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: SM-G935F
Hello everyone,
So the reason I'm asking for guidance and not straight up trying what I found is because this is my only phone and I cannot risk or afford fixing it if things hit the fan like i'd do with a spare or an old phone.
In addition the region code attached to it, the code is carried by different carriers and countries in the Gulf Area, some of which received Android 8 and some haven't. However since my phone wasn't purchased from STA, saudi telecom, I don't believe it received the updates distributed to the country,. So currently my phone was bought from a distributor in Saudi Arabia, which usually carries codes from different gulf countries. That region apparently hasn't received updates since earlier this year.
I'd appreciate just simple guidance for this process to get it right.
However I do LIVE in the UK and I would like to flash my phone to a UK region, I'm unsure which code to use and what files I would need to place in Odin.
Phone info:
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: SM-G935F, Unlocked (They usually require you to use a local sim card for a 5 minute call after which it's fully unlocked)
CSC: G935F0JV1DQIL
AP: G935FXXU1DQJ8
CP:G935FXXU1DQIL
Would it be possible to flash to UK BTU as they receive more frequent updates?
I don't know if this has any bearing but I'm using a Three sim card at the moment.. However I have used around 8 different sim cards/companies in this phone since i purchased it.
I would appreciate any advice on what files to place into Odin if I want to keep my data. (Or if I have to completely wipe it?) or shall I switch to another up-to-date OJV country like Emirates (UAE)?
Also i'm not sure what home_csc file is.
hope to hear from you guys soon.

good day
I purchased my device SM G935FD from Oman with CSC XSG (part of multiple CSC OJV middle east and some African countries). Even though I received OTA, I always install the full firmware upon officially released.
I upgraded my device from Android 7.0 to 8.0 using UK BTU firmware, the availability of which came first.
In short I downloaded the firmware from Updato (Sam Mobile slow and lagging) for the BTU firmware. Just to be sure you have to download the correct and appropriate firmware and also the latest Odin (Odin3v3.13.1) which was upgraded by Samsung to be utilized for Android 8.0 and higher versions.

Also, be sure to activate your Developers options and enable USB debugging and unlock OEM. Using Home_CSC will retain your user data while using CSC only will factory reset your device and start anew.

About Knox tripping?
Hello, I'm expecting to do something like this to my phone, but I'm wondering, will it trip Knox? Because you're changing the ROM, so I don't know
