I recently had an update that my favorite ROM of all time was announcing a comeback. I was wondering if the devs could at least make an alpha port for J500xx. Thanks.

Hey guys!
Some time ago I worked with Kenia to fix the remaining bugs in the Sense port, however we didn't manage to do that. The ROM still has connectivity and camera problems, just as it was left months ago. By the way in the meanwhile we got new kernels that support Gingerbread bootloaders, new htc sense leaks (though remaining on 2.1 should be fine),but unfortunately nobody is working on it.
I'm quite expert as far as system developing is concerned but I'm not very good with kernels
The team could be made up of:
2 system developers/porters
1 kernel guru
3/4 beta testers
Others?
Maybe I'm the only one left here that's still hoping for a fully working sense ROM,but with the help of the some people here,we can finish the work in few days
Some useful links here.
Here there's the old Sense thread, with the 0.6 version we can start from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044637&highlight=status+7
And here there's a similar ROM (RcMixHD),with everything working, for the Nexus One. We can use it for apks and some configs: http://www.multiupload.com/SSW4F2V1XS
Let me know mates
Dario.

Anyone?
I alredy got a working ROM,so i'd need a kernel dev to import bootclasspath and init.rc lines in a cm7/MIUI kernel
Is it based on the 2.3.6 android?
If it is, beta tester here <--

Hi Guys,
Just curious as to why N7000 suddenly (well, a few months ago now) got dropped support from the PAC guys....???
I thought PACROM's were blind-built on the whole, much like how CM builds are... And providing it still has a device tree, it doesn't matter if their is no maintainer...??
Much like when PACROM went from JellyBean to KitKat, I believe someone from the official PAC team said, if it's supported under JB, it'll be continued supported under KK....
Even if it was dropped because their is no maintainer, why did the old builds have to disappear too...??? Odd??
Would be great to see it come back, ready for Lollipop builds... please someone, make it happen...
thanks, Lister

We never allowed blind-builds for PAC. Your maintainer probably didn't update his threads and that's why it got dropped from nightly.
Hi Nick0703,
Thanks for the prompt reply... Oh, I see... So there will be no further updates, unless a new maintainer for N7000 makes an appearance...?? Who was the previous maintainer for N7000, if you can remember...?
Pity, would of been fun to see Android 5 PAC on N7000....
Cheers, Lister

Hi @Nick0703,
Even though the rom files for our device had long been removed, even for old time sake?? I see our build /N7000 folder has now also gone...?
Any idea's who the previous maintainer was please...??
The last couple of releases, I've had to resort to dodgy Chinese builds for the i9220 device. Which, although they do work (and grateful to the Chinese person who builds them), they contain a lot of Chinese Apps.... and the Keyboard input method needs replacing after flashing...
It would be great to find a more solid and reliable maintainer....
Thanks, Lister
Hi all
Apparently Nameless ROM have been making nightlies for N7000 for quite some time now
you can find them here http://sourceforge.net/projects/namelessrom/files/n7000/
These seem to be official but there is no thread for it so I making one here.
I have downloaded it and seems pretty fine to me though I haven't ran it for one full cycle yet
I don't maintain this release and just posting link that I found on internet.
Happy flashing

Hi @tysonraylee,
Yeah, Nameless Rom has been available for our Note (N7000) for quite some time now.... They were originally maintained by the great @herna...
However, for reasons I can't explain... He left the project some time ago, which is a pity.... Although thankfully for us, they were/are still being compiled on a regular basis... And apparently word has it, work on Nameless Rom 2.0 is under way, which will hopefully mean we'll see Android 5.0 Nameless Rom to our device too...
But yeah, it's great to make people aware of these roms, as there are many that don't get noticed...
Cheers, Lister

yes my thoughts same I didn't knew that carbon was making ROMs for N7000 until I decided to move from C-Rom and go look for another and now its the with Nameless and surely there are other ROMs that go unnoticed.
I thought it would be good to let people know
About Android 5.0, I am pretty sure we will get it sometime as I have read that Android One devices now have a working 5.0 port and our Note is way better than those devices in specs
Its just a matter of time

It depemds not to have a device with better specs it depends to have the needed Source code and that's the problem for our Note 1
Hello,
I'm happy to announce that I'm working on a port of MiUI 7 for our Motorola Moto X 2013 ("ghost").
Some people might already know that someone already made this port which of course it's true, you can see it here. The problem is that this ROM is no longer available for download and it had issues like it wasn't using the latest CyanogenMod 11 ROM and the Stagefright bug wasn't patched. Furthermore, the original author seems to be no longer present on XDA.
I'm using this tutorial in order to make the port. After a lot of days of tries and restart, I managed to compile a fully working and updated CyanogenMod 11 ROM that can be used as a base and I've started to fix some of the rejects caused by the PatchROM.
In order for this port to see the light, I would like some contributions from the community, I'm not an Android expert, it's my first port and I have other projects and real life stuff that gets in my way. So if you wish to help me, all you need to do is clone this repository, fix the rejects (one commit per reject please) and make a pull request. Of course, you will be in the credits.
Thank you for your interest and the support in this project.

I have been doing the same with lollipop CM
MIUI lollipop
Well its always been that with CM we have been stuck with the camera or reboots.. But considering recent achievements of CM and Resurrection Remix by developers I hope we get a stable one.
But just for instance is it possible or is it easy to have an AOSP Nougat for J7 2015? Since it is a Google source i don't think the source will have any bugs like the Camera of CM which is traveling from CM11.
Considering current situation we will all appreciate a stable nougat build.. Be it AOSP.
No offense to Developers but i was just sharing my views..

Instead of asking for so much how about you try making it yourself?
I have some experience at installing Linux by compiling things. I would like to work on AOSP. would be kind of you if you provide new with some pointers as follows.....
I am a little confused with the data overload and would like some pointers...
I want to keep only the relevant drivers in the system. So where do i find the original proprietary source files for my Samsung j7 device ?
A good guide on how to compile and the things to keep track of during all this would be very helpful. Thanks.
I am also stuck at sources. Because its not always that a CM source or a Resurrection source would be fit for an Aosp build. So i was just making a suggestion for the experienced devs..
