Unfortunately your phone may be unofficial or a cline .afraid you have to download a custom ROM or update manually. But I dot advice leaving KitKat to go to lollipop where it sucks out you battery and gives laggment

i got 5.1.1 back on it but its still the same. on further reading, iv found that its a mobo fault and it needs replacing.

U were on a custom ROM before flashing stock 4.4.2 I presume...........
If yes, this brick happens only while downgrading to 4.4.2 and then updating to 4.4.4 OTA.......
Did it yesterday... This happens when u downgrade from LP to 4.4.2 and accept OTA..
Just curious does this produce a hard brick which cannot be fixed or is it something that you can recover from?
Was in 4.4.4 then upgraded then adb 4.4.2 then ota 4.4.4 then upgraded to lp no issues pls confirm

I think you receive OTA for that country, not for your own.

Hi All,
I need a little help here.
I have rooted my Zenfone 5 and installed Euphoria OS. But now i want to get back to stock. I have downloaded the latest lollipop firmware from Asus Website and followed the tutorial from Windroidica (Its for kitkat actually).
Revert back to zenfone 5 stock
But when i tried to sideload my firmware file in "Apply update from ADB", it starts opening update package, verifying update package when the file sent it only 2%. And when it reaches 52%, it starts installing package and aborts. No error message is displayed and the phone boots.
Can someone please help me with this. I am in a very bad position now.
Try flash lollipop firmware 78 version using kitkat v54 fastboot n recovery?have u try this?

I would like to go back to 4.4.4 with my N910U, too.
It's really annoying to be forced upgrading with a lot of troubles.
How come users got no choices on what version to use?

No guarantees it will flash properly. It depends on the size of the hidden partition. I would wait for a debranded firmware like BTU or XEU.

Can the firmware be flashed over 925I model?? Since the hardware is same I guess it shouldn't be a problem??
Thanks for your input @ joecool666 and @lynxblaine.
This morning I just received the 7 OTA on my device and is installing as we speak. It's aprox 200MB smaller than on the S7e (i'm on S6e).
For anyone interested.. I flashed this last night.. but it FAILED on hidden partition... had to emergency repair it. I'm using g925f in the UK on Vodafone..
Edit...
I flashed the UK Vodafone from sammobile
can i flash it with odin or i must install twrp recovery first?
has anyone tried secure folder app ?
I've installed it from Sammobile but it does not run saying "unauthorised"
I made a video of all the new features and the whole new design with nougat

Flash it with Odin. Why would you install TWRP for the purpose of updating to Nougat Official?
Does not make sense. Hence, good luck and happy flashing official OS 7.

No one can confirm for the moment.
But there are already reports saying that they flash TWRP and Magisk for root then installed Magisk Manager from Play Store.
