Hi,
I'm a noob who tried to flash a custom rom. I've rooted my phone and had the custom rom ready. Then I wiped my Cache and System. When i tried to install zip. from the SD card i got the error message: E: failed to verify whole-file signature, E: signature verification failed. I found out that i have not unlocked my bootloader and thats the reason I get the error message. I have no backup.
Is there a way to flash my phone so I can use it again? I've starte dowloading stock rom, but it's taking forever.
Appresiate anny help i can get
Hi all,
So I recently made the mistake of rooting my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (SMG-935A) while being a complete and total novice. I was able to root it fine (using ODIN), and then I tried to use some customization apps which messed up my phone. I tried resetting my phone and flashing the ROM again, and it messed my phone up even more.
First thing's first, when I try to boot up my phone, it will not go past the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Custom screen. It will stay there pretty much until the phone dies.
When I boot it up in recovery mode, it gives me an error message that reads:
"dm-verity verification failed....
E:failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)."
When I try to wipe my phone's data and factory reset it, it throws this error:
"E:failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)
can't mount '/system', rc = '-1' (Invalid argument)."
I have not seen anything on how to fix this specifically. Is there a way to fix this error and get my phone working again that I am unaware of? Or am I better off just getting a new phone? Anything you can do to help would be great. I've tried flashing stock ROMs and everything to no avail.
Thanks in advance.

You should be able to flash back to stock with Odin. If you aren't on current B4 bootloaders, you need to know that if you on B2 or B3 that flashing the B4 bootloaders, you cannot go back to the previous versions (you will brick). The current stock G935AUCS4API2 (BL4) found HERE should get you back up and running again.

Hi, thanks for the help. I tried using the files from the link you provided but I got a "Complete(Write) operation failed" error from ODIN. Also on my "Downloading" screen, I now have a "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [about]Fused 4 > Binary 2" error. Any insight on that?
Thanks.
Try using Samsung smart switch on your pc to re-initialize your phone. It should be able to recover your device and put you on the newest firmware.
Hello Forum,
since 3 days I face an annoying error. I tried to encrypt the Android system in the settings which crashed. Since I use TWRP and Revolution OS v.2 I wiped everything and even formatted the whole system. Than I flashed the Custom Rom again and it got stuck in Samsung Logo. I tried flashing back to stock with ODIN as well, but no chance, still stuck at Samsung Logo.
I now noticed the error "E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)" and found this Thread claiming a solution:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073654&page=3
Unfortunately, I have no root access in ADB (error: closed), even after flashing the latest SuperSU file. Since the Roms are not booting I can´t grant USB-Debugging access in the developer options.
Does anyone know a solution for this? Please
Thanks

Sorry I noticed even more errors. When TWRP starts the Terminal says:
Failed to mount ´/data´ (invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder
Unable to mount storage
Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
Twrp can't read samsung encrypted partitions.

The Stock recovery shows the same error.
So there is no solution for this?
Have you tried to flash a 4-file firmware with odin?

Yes I´ve thried but it´s still stuck in Samsung Logo...
I had rooted my yu yureka and flashed twrp . I had installed lineage os 14 and had it working very smoothly. A few days back I updated lineage os on it and also flashed it's volte modem files after updating twrp . Now it worked fine for some days and then one day it starts rebooting every now and then . And yesterday it developed something new.
It starts with yu logo and then goes dark for a second and then again displays yu logo and then again dark and ....... Loop goes on. But if you start charging it , it stays stuck on the yu logo . Also when I try to flash some other version of lineage os , it exits installation with error code 7
Is it hard bricked ?
Please give some solution for this asap

Did that too
Got same result
"
E1001 : Failed to update system image
Updater process ended with error : 7
Error installing zip file '.....'
Failed to mount '/system' (invalid argument)
"
Edit : Also if that's of any help , I am unable to use features of the twrp like installing zips and wiping without plugging in my phone because it shuts down while the process is going on
Somebody please help !
Dude the problem is of battery inserted. Change it and it would help .
A few days back I also had this problem. After changing the battery problem was solved.
To flash a clean room first wipe all partitions and then flash the image.
Updater process ended with signal :7
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/du_tomato....'
Updating partition details
Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid Argument)
This means your partition size is 1.4 gb only soc change it to 2.5 gb and then flash the image

Its my first day rooting and after unlocking the bootloader and installing twrp i tryied to reboot but with no luck as it bootlooped every time after that i tryed to just install lineage os 19.1. I tryed to wipe my system but it gave me and error 'Failed to mount /preload (Invalid argument)'. I read about this online and it seemed like a minor thing and that everything should work normally, so i decided to continue. Its about this time that i found out about no-verity-opt-encrypt so i decided thet i would install that and lineage os 19.1 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lineageos-19-1-android-12l-signature-spoofing-ota-updates-for-s8-s8-note8.4370375/ I went to the install page and selected both files but when i tryed to install it gave me this error 'Updater process ended with error 1 : error installig zip file /sdcard/Lineage OS 19.1.zip' and 'Failed to munt /preload (invalid argument)'
Please help i dont know what to do, if its not possible to get lineage os on the phone im willing to get back to the normal operating system but curretly i cant do both
