Wondering if anyone has figured out a way to remove the keyboard icon in bottom right of Navigation bar / navbar when typing?
Previously on the pixel and past oneplus phones installing multiple keyboards did this but it seems permanent with s8. What's strange is that I don't have any other keyboards installed other than what samsung pre-installed...
I have the standard s8 keyboard plus a Samsung Keyboard Neural Beta and then Samsung voice search.
Any ideas?
I'd like to know this too. I hate the navbar under the keyboard but i think it's impossible to hide. I hope they'll solve in a future update

This did it. Strange though, with AOSP you are able to set a default and this icon wont show. I ended up disabling them via package disabler, FWIW.
Any way to remove navigation bar while the keyboard is open?

Hi all there!
In the past i was able to remove the persistent notification that say "samsung keyboard..." using wanam xposed for lolipop but now the wanam for MM did not include this tweak. The notification appears only when you are writting... did anyone knows how to deactivate that?
Thanks in advance

I installed SwiftKey and just disabled Samsung Keyboard using Package Disabler Pro. Having SwiftKey as the only keyboard left finally removed that notification.
AFAIK, the notification appears if you have more than one input option enabled, so that you can switch in between.

You are welcome! Glad it worked for you.
First off the S8+ is gorgeous yada yada.....but here are some of my observations.
a) Notifications show at top as an icon but there is no preview, floating notification or anything of the sort to let me know if I care or not about the notification without pulling the tray.
b) Tray is white and hard to read. There doesn't seem to be clear breaks in between the notifications so everything runs together rather than a hard line separation.
c) The notifications on the lock screen are simply small icons with no detail, even though I have the "Notifications Icons only" unchecked in settings
d) Touchwiz doesn't rotate to landscape. Everything is customizable enough so Samsung doesn't have me running to replace with a launcher but I need it to rotate. May revert back to Nova......
I have the same issue with a). For c) double tap the home button and it takes you to lock screen with notifications. The icons are for AOD.

My complaints so far are Fingerprint scanner location, and the Bixby button. Why not just make an app for Bixby? If it's good, people will use it. If not, it's cause it sucks. To add a physical button locked to Bixby is just friggin lazy. Apple wouldn't even do that.
Update:
Thanks for the tip on the double tap of the home button on the lock screen.
Another issue is there is no way to programatically pull down the tray without dislocating my thumb. I installed a third party floating widget that fixes this.

Nova and other third party launchers let you pull down the tray by swiping down anywhere on the screen.
Go to touchwiz settings, enable the apps button (this disables the pull down to apps). The pull down gesture will now open app the notification tray.
Where do you even find TouchWiz settings?

Long press the home screen or pinch zoom in home screen, you will get option for widgets, and launcher settings
But notification gesture is not working..

Yep, turning that on didn't work for the notification shade. That's why I asked if there was some setting I missed

Right, but we are talking about swiping down on the screen to get the notification tray, not the fingerprint reader, which does not appear possible like one user said it would.

I'm a dork. I didn't pay enough attention. I thought the question was in relation to the earlier mention of the fingerprint scanner swipe.

Haha oh! I got so excited for that, couldn't find it anywhere

I tried finding the swipe down on home screen too to no avail. I really do sort of like the fingerprint swipe though since it works from anywhere.

I have installed Nova on my LG G6 and looks that everything is ok except one thing: there is no possibility to add stock calendar widget because it's not listed on widgets list. Can anybody confirm that?

Yes, and it also removes the stock weather widget which I happen to like. I also noticed that that since gestures like double tapping the screen to turn it off are a premium feature it breaks that stock LG function and you can't enable it unless you buy the premium version of Nova. I as planning on buying it anyway to support the developer but that's kind of lame.

Even then the double tap feature isn't the same to shut off phone. Does something to permissions and I forget the warning. I just double tap the notification bar which taps off the screen just the same, plus that works from any application, not just the home screen.

You can use it with Samsung oneui. Not supporting 3 part launchers. I don't know why how but it is.

Somehow I found a work around for Nova. I selected the default one ui launcher and then enabled the gestures. Went back and changed the default launcher to Nova and the gesture navigation stuck. Now I gotta get used to the nav bar being gone and using gestures. ?

You are probably using Samsung gestures (from the bottom of the screen), they work. Googles gestures do not work nova.
Hi guys, just a question : with this new gestures I noticed I'm not able to use completely One Hand +, so I need to lock screen with physic Button. Do you have advices? Thanks

When I use a keyboard it's displayed on top of a bar with two icons, one for hiding the keyboard the other to switch keyboards... How to get rid of it?
I'm not sure what bar are you talking about. And what keyboard do u use. I use Gboard and there's nothing under the keyboard. Or try attaching a screenshot here.

Are you on a web browser ?
This;
I'm not seeing that bar on Gboard, but I'm on beta tester program, so it could be fixed but not released yet.

Then if you remove the pill, does the bar disappears ?
Hide full screen indicator?
In miui 12 theres an option to hide, Settings --> Display --> At the bottom, full screen display --> Hide full screen indicator. Idk if this is your problem xd.
Disable all other keyboards but the one you are using.
