ATT VoLTE and relock bootloader? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Before I get this phone. Does anyone on AT&T know if they white-listed this device for VoLTE?
Also, can we re-lock the bootloader like Nexus Devices or once the bootloader is unlocked it can never be re-locked again?
Thanks

You can relock the bootloader if you want to unroot and return to stock.

Thanks I posted the question there..as I did not get a definitive answer. When I say relock, i want the behavior like the Nexus phones where it will do another wipe after the fastboot lock and fastboot mode shows correct lock status. Used to have one plus 1 and once unlocked you could never relock the bootloader..

AT&T only supports VoLTE on AT&T branded phones. So unfortunately, no.

par for the course w/ that company. I think they have taken the mantle from Verizon as being the biggest jerks. If it wasn't for their iPhone business, they'd be sunk. They have done a fabulous job of raising the prices of all things DirecTV too. ugh.

[LG G4] [H815]- [Official Bootloader unlock by LG]

God it Exists
Thanks to the Codefire Team and thanks to LG we have from some minutes ago the official steps to unlock LG G4's Bootloader:
Here
VERY IMPORTANT
1) For now this procedure is only available for H815 International variant (but LG page it says: "We will add more devices with unlockable bootloaders unlocking permission progressively")
2) doing this will void your warranty
My advice is : we have to support codefire Team ( @autoprime @thecubed @jcase @IllegalArgument ) much stronger to have a bootloader solution that will not void warranty and give us always root availability.
Codefire Team is our real hope to be always masters of our devices
G4 with official unlocked bootloader - screens :

Would be nice backing up these partitions once(and possibly other) in order to revert to locked.
Don't have the g4(yet) but will donate for sure
Its probably worth posting this in General too!
Great. I wonder when can we root the g4?
Awesome but not being able to lock it again worries me :S.. I'll wait a little more.

For sure.
Only if Codefire can play on real devices we could have relock feature for bootloader and clean drm partition too i think
Me too, will wait alittle more. Just got the device not gonna risk without warranty that soon
LG was offering their warranty for unlocked and rooted devices... What happened now?
Not able to relock it? LG is the new Sony now with DRM and similar?
I'm very disappointed.

Unlocking BL may have side effects. If you experience an erection lasting longer than 4 hours, please call your doctor immediately...
Who does my doctor contact if he has an erection lasting more than 4 hours?
i never had a device blocked for more than two hours ...got my G4 yesterday and just made my donation 5 minutes ago cmon guys:good:
This is embarrassing to ask. Does having a locked bootloader mean you cannot flash RomManager or TWRP? or something else?
If I only wanted to root and keep OEM rom do I still need to unlock the bootloader. Im in the T-mobile G4 LG-H811

Correct, locked bootloader means no TWRP or custom recoveries.
Root is possible with a lock bootloader after finding an exploit.
Tmobile is unlocked right?

I am unable to boot into bootloader on ATT model :/
Lol as expected from Sprint and AT&T. Dont get me wrong, i wish they had bootloader unlocked because the more bootloaders unlocked for different carriers, the more chances to duplicate the amount of developments/roma/mosa/kernels etc.... Now, having only Tmobile as the only one with unlocked bootloader, well, devs who use carrier such as AT&T and Sprint might get further away from developments on LG V20. (I'm a LG V20 Tmobile variant owner)
im not to familiar with LG, but the correct way is to power off the device, hold volume down, insert USB cable?
one would think even if locked, it could still enter the bootloader. adb works, and when i reboot recovery, i get to recovery, but when selecting reboot bootloader, the device starts. interestingly enough, it will enter in adb sideload mode
With Google obviously not wanting unlocked handsets or rooted handsets to be common... This kind of thing is going to be the norm. Best to adapt, in the long term. The days of modding are being ended by Google

For the time being. As SafetyNet gets more common, Google will quit making them unlockable.
Granted i preordered my v20 expecting to run it unrooted stock.

Well, it's really only sprint, at&t, and more than likely Verizon. Fastboot mode doesn't even exist on the phone through the production software. T-Mobile is completely unlockable...

So this means no recovery for sprint variants, but is there still a possibility of systemless root using the LG up or bridge programs?

He said it was based on jcadduono's work and if jcadduono has a thread on here about getting root shell to push recovery on the TMobile variant after unlocking the bootloader.
time to return it!
Just a thought. A method over use getting around big red in the past . I purchased unlock able version of the the phone I wanted the note 5 . Umocked it rooted it . Then got my carriers Sim card and called to get it activated. It can be a pain but it can be done

If you want to unlock you need to get a T-Mobile LG as their usually always unlockable.

is it in the stores yet to play with?
Good luck with AT&T unlocking their bootloaders. We had AT&T up until recently and it was always a pipe dream to get an unlocked bootloader. Buy an unlocked model or get the TMobile version.

You can't upgrade because the bootloader is locked. The bootloader is locked because Verizon are money hungry and want to ensure you need an upgrade.
but in developer option there is an option to unlock boot loader isint that suffice ?
bump.
anyone please update
is it or is it not Verizon?
Hi all, I am in no way a developer, found out about this site from a Quora post about *drumroll* rooting a DT2. My question is this: I purchased my phone reconditioned (whatever that entails) from Amazon. It does not have the Verizon check mark on the bottom--does that mean I can root it? Please help!

Could we trick the DT2 into believing its an update for it, but then update the firmware to unlock the bootloader?... How does Verizon update the firmware themselves if the bootloader is locked?

Warning before unlocking bootloader

I am set to unlock the bootloader after permanently unlocking this phone. I am worried of the warrning that they talk about concerning the warranty. Is there a way to lock the bootloader up before sending it off for warranty to T-Mobile?
You know you can just restore the phone back to stock, and relock the bootloader right?

No, they will never know. I sent phones in that had root, fastbooted all the original firmware and they were fixed and returned to me. Now if you were talking Samsung, that's a different story.
