So I already tried reading most of the threads about this problem but sadly I wasn't able to find the answer to my problem. I just recently reformatted my computer and thought that I want to return to stock ROM for now. But when I entered download mode and plugged the cable in, Odin cannot detect the phone.
I got frustrated after trying so I restarted my phone without disconnecting the cable. When the phone booted up normally, Odin was able to detect the phone, so I tried download mode again, nothing, now I tried recovery mode, detected.
I already tried:
- Installing Kies
- Installing just the drivers
- Trying debug on/off
Also, I've been having problems with "Samsung Mobile USB Modem" "An error occurred during the installation of the device. The required section was not found in the INF." Could this be the cause of the first problem?
Yes I just made this account to ask you guys this.
try new version odin search at caliban666 thread,if im not wrong he post a new version of odin.try installing a new samsung driver at dokys thread.i hope this will help u...
Try installing the drivers again..
If possible download them again..
**rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...**
So only the download mode that isn't detected by odin? I have the same problem before. Here, when you go into download mode but odin doesn't detect your phone, press the power button until your phone turns black and don't let it to reboot. If your phone already turns black then go into download mode again (volume down+power+home). Odin should detect it.
For your 2nd problem, here you can download the samsung usb driver pack, I also experienced that after installing kies then "an error occured blabla". Driver here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11498043

No luck.
I just tried the new Odin and installed the new Samsung drivers.
It's still the same for both problems.
- can't detect phone in download mode but it can detect the phone in normal and recovery mode.
- samsung mobile USB modem error still persists
Your os must be corrupted!!! I

Can a member who can use Odin with their GT-S5360 connect the 5360 in "Download Mode" to their PC, open Windows Device Manager and copy / paste the Device Instance ID shown under:
+Universal Serial Bus controllers
...Composite Device
by right-clicking it, choose Properties, then Details?
On my PC, it is shown as 'Unkown Device' with the following Device Instance ID:
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&2E64F456&0&1
Which is most likely not what it should be.
I want to know what it should be.
I have two Galaxy Y's (one soft-bricked, the other working fine) and both show the same ID.
BTW, I have tried every port on the back of my PC with four Samsung data cables and three third-party cables and I cannot get Windows or Odin to recognize the GT-S5360 in download mode (both phones).
I have downloaded and installed / uninstalled / rebooted, etc. with the following versions of Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones:
1.3.1500
1.4.8
1.5.9
1.5.15
1.5.23
1.5.33
I have downloaded but cannot install version:
1.5.49
MCC InstallWizard says it "could not" install the drivers but no error message or log is given.
And for some reason, the "have disk" method of installing the drivers doesn't work either.
My PC is running XP SP3 x86, offline.
I download all files to my working phone, and transfer them to the PC.
One last thing, can someone who has USB driver version 1.5.49 installed, open Windows Services and check to see if the Samsung Connection service has started and is running?
Phone not detected on ODIN

Just reinstall your operating system of pc and install the drivers again. Everything will be fine.
Else try connecting it to another computer. It will WORK for 100^(1000000)%.
Hope it was helpful.
You should install full driver for SGY

Hi guys !
I'm having a strange issue with my S4 i9505. It was running lollipop 5.0.1 Imperium Rom V5.0 (XXUHOD7) and it stopped prompting for MTP-USB notification in notification panel. When i connect the phone, it says me it is charging. I'm using windows 8.1 pro x64 + Genuine Samsung USB cable (which came with the phone) between my S4 and the PC.
Then i tried dialing *#0808# in phone app and choose MTP+ADB in USB connection option when the phone was connected to the computer. Nothing happened even if i tried other USB modes (like MTP, Rndis, PTP...). USB internet sharing didn't work either. Changing USB cables and USB ports on the pc didn't change anything either
So i did a factory reset under Philz CWM recovery and flashed an updated version of Imperium Rom v14.0.
USB-MTP was still not working even with *#0808# trick.
So i decided to install Samsung drivers and try a complete stock flash with XXUHOF2 Firmware from Sammobile.com with ODIN v3.09. When the phone was into Download Mode, I connected it via USB and it showed up on ODIN with no problem and then I flashed XXUHOF2 Stock firmware with no errors and no problems at all. The phone rebooted normally and the PASS message appeard in ODIN after ~10 mins.
But the problem still remains, even if flashing a full up to date stock rom with Modem/BL/System + factory reset. The phone still doesn't show into windows as MTP device even with *#0808#.
So i'm wondering if my USB connector is faulty ? Is it possible to be able to flash through ODIN with no problem and not being able to have MTP USB connection ?
I think ODIN flashes phones using Data +/- pins on the USB connector just as MTP do, so they might be good on my S4. May i be wrong ? Is it possible there is an electronic chip behind USB connector of my phone which is misbehaving preventing MTP to work but allowing ODIN to work ?
Do you guys have an explanation of this and do you think replacing USB connector of my S4 would solve the problem ?
I hope my explanations are good and you can help me

Try disabling and enabling USB debugging while the phone is connected.

I really hope you found a solution. Ive been looking an answer for this annoying problem for 6 months!
Ive read almost 50 threads in differents forums about this problem but no solution at all.
- Tried changing charging port. Cost me a few dollars but no solution.
- Tried USB debugging on and off from developers menu.
- Did MTP+ADB option in *#*#0808#* menu.
- Turned Low Battery Dump "on" in *#*#0808#* menu.
- Tried 10 or more different original Samsung cables.
- Upgraded PC USB drivers.
None of them worked for me.
Hope you have made a progress.
Help! i want to flash official firmware -GT i9500
In past i was able to flash via odin on same pc and now its not showing usb all driver installed
already try changing data cable and diffrent ports i even tried reinstalling win7 and diffrent version of kies and drivers
i dont have other pc or laptops . other samsung phone is showing on download mode on same pc.
odin only shows my phone when i pull battery while connected to usb on download mode and i can flash twrp recovery or
any small size file but cant flash full firmware its disconect after some seconds
it connects well on mtp mode and twrp.
I have the same problem with my S4. I tested J5 2016 and it is connecting properly with the same cable, drivers, etc, either with odin or in normal situations when phone is on. also S8+ connects with its cable and same drivers, etc. But S4 is repeatedly connecting-disconnecting, either in downloading mode or normal situations.
I installed this driver "https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows" which is "SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones 1.5.51".

Already tried it didnt work. i dont have disconnecting issue on normal mode i can send and recive via usb mtp to pc for your disconnect problem if it disconnect after phone screen off, go to control panel>sytem &security>power option>change paln setting>change advanced power setting>expand all usb setting =enable change to disable.
If anyone has solution to OP please reply
Thank you!
I eventually succeed! Nothing special just used my brothers' laptop (win 7). same cable, same driver (1.5.51).
My primary problem was WiFi and Bluetooth not working. I was hopeful flashing will solve it but unfortunately no. Seems a hardware problem.
With your recommendation (enable to disable) i saw no change with my pc (win 7).
