Has anyone got MX Player to work properly? I have it installed and the first time I used it HW, HW+ and SW where all selectable but now only HW and SW are. HW+ is still listed buy I'm not able to select it.
what is selectable will depend on the video itself, sometimes hw decoding won't be available for that specific codec and so you can't use/select it
All videos on mx work great for me.

You should be able to select any of the three video playback options in MX Player if you have them set up in decoder, on my MX Player just HW+ is not selectable you can't even press it as it's greyed out.
Working fine here
Hello :
When the MX player is working in background ( both internal and SD card ) , it randomly stopped (within 10-30 min) and when i unlock the screen again , it will resume as long as I select the app again.
Is there anyone have the same problem here ? (There is no sd unmount error as far as I aware )
Thanks

Hey guys , try this video player it's an absolute beast for VFP6 Arm processors . You know how limited P500 is with videos , can only run up to 640X360 and certain dimensions : max 1gb or something like that.
Well with moboplayer I've been runing 720X400 , or even higher with no probs . Thing is , above this resolution you should try to oc the cpu . Moboplayer makes great use of cpu speed unlike other players .
I could refer to this player as the Swiss army knife of video playback considering it also plays some formats of videos with audio files that fail on other players like default vplayer and Mvideoplayer
Unfortunately it does not play Mkv well yet and prolly the only rez P500 might go with a oc'ed 800 cpu is 480p. But as the devs of Mobo said they will be fixing mkv soon .
http://www.moboplayer.com/moboplayer_en.html
Just download the V6 VFP , that's the correct version for our phone .
Cheers and I hope this suggestion has helped many people in dire need of better video playback
I'll download this when I'm in need of it. Thanks! By the way, I remember your video playback problem thread. Glad you found a solution
the best video player so far for Optimus One!
Aye indeed it seems so freexander . I wanted to test yesterday Vplayer but it did not even finish the install . It might be arm V7 only with neon .
I can hardly wait to see if the mobo devs will continue the awesome support VFP 6 and give proper mkv support ;P. It would be awesome if I could at least run videos up to 480p
Working great,..better than QQplayer.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
plays video files that other players shows error.
thanks
does dis plays mkv files?
Hmmmm , not yet . At least I tried a 480p video of about 150mb and it did not work properly . But moboplayer devs said they will adress mkv problems in next version .
Nice! I like how it can change aspect ratio.
tried it, manage to play most of the video files
New patch : 1.0.120
It does not bring the proper mkv support but we can hope
Changelog :

Hmmm tempted! Thanks for the suggestion!
I'm gonna try that 1 if it's better than the mVideoPlayer i'll defenetly swap to it! BTW for MKV i think, not sure, but i think mVideoPlayer plays them! idk how well or not so well tho :x
i ilke it....
I have a 10 inch android pad and have the VFP version. Does anyone know how to make it play full screen? Thanks.
When I play a video from megavideo app, and I choose MoboPlayer, it plays one or two second and then closes. The video doesnt play, why?
Prety much best app for videos....it played a 720p mkv file at 10-15 fps almost same to rockplayer....
So what program do people use to convert their movies to something Moboplayer uses. I tried using Handbrake and Moboplayer said it had to use "soft conversion" and the movie then kind of stuttered. I could just be using the wrong settings with Handbrake, or should I be using something else?
Hi,
anyone else having trouble with mkv files with AC3 audio?
Tried MX player, BSplayer and vlc.
MX player has no sound and smoth in HW and sound in SW (audio only) but really choppy.
BSplayer won't play in hw at all and vlc has horrible quality (artifacts).
Is that working for anyone or is that a general problem? (codec?)
Anything that i can try?
thanks
Try sending the MX Player dev a message mentioning the problem, it's likely something to do with the cutting edge hardware in there not being 100% supported just yet. MX Player is a great app, and I'm sure the N10 will be supported in no time at all.

I am using MX for MKV with AC3 - in the Decoder tab in settings, set the decoder to HW+ and in the Software decoder section, tick the box 'S/W audio' to force software decoding for Audio - then you should get smooth HW accelerated video playback with soft-decoded audio.
I also use MX with EZ Usenet to stream these types of files directly from Easynews, and it works perfectly with HW+ setting, software for audio
tried using a vlc nightly? What version did you use?
VLC: used the armv7-android-neon nightly from 2 or 3 days ago
MX: with hw+ its stutters even worse than with hw when i have software audio
i stream directly from files on my computer, can that be the cause?
VLC works intermittently for me and MX Player works pretty good, the only issue I've had is what seems like missing frames or slow playing video but then the audio is ok. To me VLC seems smoother but it's very tempremental.

is that a general assessment or specifically to AC3?

No problem use a custom code:
"Custom Codec v1.7.32 is fully compatible with MXPlayer 1.7.33
As Usual supports all codecs incl DTS & DOLBY (AC3)
(Old Custom Codecs are not compatible with the latest MXPlayer v1.7.33...!!)"
P.S. the version of MX Player that has AC3 support removed is v1.7.33 so you need to at least refresh the codec you have installed or install the latest ones.
Here is the post with all the various devices compatible custom codecs and installation instructions. I just did a successful before and after test. After installing this AC3 audio is a non-issue.
Too bad both the owners of DTS and AC3 need to such dicks about their decoding software. I have no issue when they charge for encoding.
MX AC Problem
Hi, I just wanted to say thank you. You guys worked successful and it is easy to follow through. Thanks once again. I am Karuhiu from Kenya
A lot of peoples told me to use MX Player as it's the best player out there for the Nexus 7.
So far it's fine, but the biggest problem i got is when playing WMV files. The video picture is fine (nothing weird like mosaic or strange colors going on), but most of the time the video would play slowly and the audio would get out of sync, so after a while the audio stop and resume when the video is back in sync, but then goes out of sync again. And this happen all the time.
I can't switch MX Player to H/W or H/W+ while playing WMV files, it seem to be forced to play them in S/W mode.
Is there a way i could, somehow, fix this problem? Should i download an optional codec for it?
I tested MX Player on my other tablet (Ainol NOVO 7 Elf II) and MX Player said it needed the ARMv7 NEON codec plug-in to be downloaded. And the WMV files seem to work just fine, and it use H/W mode. (unable to play in H/W+ mode though)
Hi
is the phone capable of hardware decoding h265 videos?
please try http://www.libde265.org/hevc-bitstreams/bbb-1920x1080-cfg06.mkv ( dowload it first)
with mxplayer in hw or hw+ mode ( not sw mode)
does it stutter ?
you can also try http://www.libde265.org/hevc-bitstreams/bbb-3840x2160-cfg02.mkv , but it is a 4k maybe too heavy for the phone
thanks
I'm unable to play the first file with either mx player or bsplayer.
HW mode black screen, HW+ extreme lag. SW similar (maybe 0.1x speed).
Thanks
It is Strange.. look at this http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2mETT1RlX38

We probably need to download that codec in the description and point MX player to use it.
The first video works in VLC - better than on my Core 2 Windows even - but still get slow down in many scenes.
H265 hardware support will be hit or miss for a while, and sadly may never catch on due to the patent holders starting licencing shenanigans. See the article in the link

Please ,
import this codec to mx player and try.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/mx-player-custom-codec-dts-support-t2156254
thanks
evem nexus player ( same gpu as this phone) play h265 https://www.google.it/url?url=http:...D835Wg&usg=AFQjCNFNXj03opshGE1Ti5gmGlIW4Rohig
Hi,
I have a OP5 (5.1.7) and when I play a .mkv video HEVC/10bit using HW+ with MX Player the audio works fine but the video keeps black all the time, just works with software decoding.
OP5 does not support HEVC/10bit decoding?

Do you have installed the codec for mx player? Or just use vlc, it should play it.
Yes, I installed the codec for MX Player, but didn't work.
And I tried others players like VLC, KM, BS, Kodi.....
but didn't work too.
Writing this for all the people finding this thread in Google
I got 10bit 4K H265 working on my Oneplus 5 in Kodi (no stutters) by doing this:
(I'm using the Estouchy skin, you can swap to it in settings > interface)
Go to settings > player
Click on the settings cog in the bottom right
Click on the Standard option until it says expert
Scroll down to the processing section (this is in the videos tab btw)
Turn off "Allow hardware acceleration - MediaCodec (surface) and keep the other hardware acceleration one on.
Enjoy your 10bit content!
