I just plugged my phone number into the UPS tracking site reference number field (for the millionth time in 24 hours, I'm embarrassed to say) and got a tracking number. As of 10/14, 'billing info received' which means it goes out today, 10/15. If I'm very, very lucky -- I'll have my toy on Friday! I tried to change it from 'ground' to something quicker with UPS on the phone, they said it wasn't possible I was told T-Mobile could do an 'intercept' to correct shipping addresses, but shipping methods can't be changed once a package is in the system...
If I have to wait the weekend, seeing 'arrived at destination' at the UPS site, I'll die

I pre-ordered the day pre-ordering started. I was told that we'd be getting our G1's 'a little before' the 22nd, but didn't believe it. And really, it is just a little before. UPS Ground isn't exactly speedy.
'Billing Info Received' just means the shipping label was created, and the shipment entered electronically. It's been my experience that actual shipping occurs the day after the status of 'Billing Info Received', which is dated 10/14. In fact, I order a lot of stuff and I don't recall it ever taking longer than that -- hopefully, this won't be the exception
I've read 'rumors' that pre-orders are shipping on 10/15, the appearance of my tracking number makes me thing these rumors are true.

me too... I ordered mine on September 24th... I figured it would ship today... with 1.5M orders it might take a while... I WANT MY G1 NOW!!!!
I got the same message for the 2 phones I ordered, I think it will be a few days before they ship.
Mine (black) is shipped and I expect to receive it on this Friday or upcoming Monday.

I was told the day after I ordered, by a T-Mo rep, that I could start checking UPS on the 15th and that my tracking info should be in there.
I have to have mine re-routed to my office to make sure I get it and don't have to go pick it up at the sorting center. Hopefully it's on the website today or tomorrow. Glad that the shipping reference method is actually working.
Someone on some other android forum told me that they're all shipping out on the 20th and that they're all coming 2-day express. Sha! Right! Like they're going to pony up the extra cash to ship millions of phones express on the same day without charging us extra! It makes way more sense to ship them ground starting 7 days earlier than the 22nd.
I've checked the UPS site so many times that I'm a bit surprised I have not crashed their servers yet. Nothing here either. It seems people who are getting billing info confirmation are all on the west coast http://htcsource.com mostly in CA and WA.

Would you tell them to give you Diane in Orlando's phone also, I will meet you in Atlanta to pick it up !! Nothing has changed on the UPS website for my tracking either .. Not even an invoice. It's as if they are saying "who are you and what do you want ?"

I do a lot of shipping and UPS doesn't update their website as soon as the label has been printed. I would guess that those that have shipped will see something on the website tonight or sooner.
i went to the ups site and entered my number but it says " >>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again. " i dont know if im am entering my number in the right format
should it be xxx-123-4567 or xxx1234567 or anything else?

Mine is out for delivery today as well. I called DHL to check if and when i have to pay VAT/customs duty but was told that DHL will send an invoice in the next two weeks, if that helps
I've not heard anything yet!

Got mine about an hour ago, been playing with it. Coming from htc magic it is just pure joy to use. No longer does it have data connection problems in low signal 3g areas. This really bugged me in my htc magic. Everything else about it has pretty much been discussed.
Not sure whats gonna happen with vat though. Havent been invoiced for it yet.
Still waiting on mine and it was sent yesterday.. Could be snow related I guess

Ordered mine at 6.00pm on the 6th jan credit card got declined tried with another one and now it is stuck saying retry in progress even though they assured me it is all ok.

Really?! I ordered something from an online vendor for Xmas and it went into backorder and I was notified that week. I'm still waiting for the item to ship. So you're saying I can file a class-action lawsuit?

Very good. I ordered mine at 2:09pm EST tuesday and got my shipping confirmation at 10:20pm. The phone arrived the next day at 12:30pm.

What time did you place the order?
I think the cut off time for EST where I live is 5pm.
I ordered mine on a Friday at like 3am in the morning, got it Monday, so it was technically overnight since they do not ship on weekends.

Depends on when you ordered, there is a thread about 30 pages long a search should bring up. And yes, it really is over night as long as you ordered in time for them to process it before the daily pick up.
What time did you order it?
Also, you will get an email update, and can check the status in your google checkout, it gets updated very quickly and accurately.

Yes you should have it tomorrow.
Tomorrow would be PERFECT. My wife just had surgery, so I'll be home all day watching over her, with plenty of time to root and get acquainted with my Nexus. If it comes Wednesday, instead, I'm screwed, as I will be back at work and in meetings from 8am-5pm.

Hard to say... I would think it would have been updatede by now. IIRC, not only does the order have to be placed, but the payment has to clear as well. As well, I think the actual cut off is 12 noon for a "guarantee" since FedEx typically does large pick ups like that around 3ish... they make all deliveries by 3PM, then start on their pick ups.

Yeah, just check in the morning to make sure, but I am thinking you missed the window if it hasn't updated yet. Mine updated 30 minutes after FedEx did the initial scan.
I ordere mine at 3:00pm eastern. By 8:30 am it was delivered the next day.

You guys are lucky. After it was first released we all had to pay for overnight shipping when it took 3 or 4 days. Those were some of the most painful days...
I ordered mine today, but chose ground shipment, does anybody know how many days does this take? (why ground - there is no hurry , do not want N1 there tommorow)
I ordered from from Europe and shipped to california. (the tax was 51 $ - that's a lot) And a friend will bring it to me.
I hope it will arrive in less than a week!

Ordered mine at about 9pm cst on a Monday and it arrived the next day about 10am. I tracked it all night lol.
This doesn't happen very often, but i just spoke to a phones4u employee who actually seemed to know what he was talking about, and he replied to one of my questions with "im sorry but i dont know" which implies to me that he aint making stuff up lol. Anyway as i believe he knew what he was on about heres what he said (still take with pinch of salt tho)
"we recieved limited stock on the 11th which we thought were for delivery on the 14th but sony delayed them and we are not allowed to deliver them until the 17th, we are getting more stock on the 17th which will be delivered on the 22nd"
He then went on to tell me that my order was due to be delivered on the 22nd, when i asked if he how much stock they recieved on the 11th he replied
"sorry but i dont know........ i havent had to tell anyone they will be recieving this phone on the 17th, so maybe they haven't allocated them yet"
So there you have it, like i said take it with a pinch of salt but he seemed a lot more 'on the ball' than all the other idiots ive had to speak to. Shame i wont be able to fiddle with it over the bank holiday weekend but nevermind. Post here if you get one thursday.

Yeah that sucks, still on awaiting stock, i suppose i did get loads of cashback on mine though, so an extra few days isnt the end of the world, just sucks so much -.- considering the website states delivery of tomorrow =/

i just checked there site, still dont actually say dispatched yet but my hopes are building as there general next day delivery terms say if ordered by 6pm, and mine changed at 5.09pm..... yeah i seen a post by you regarding cashback..... you're up t 200 aint ya? i only getting 75

Mine is on its way! checked my emails this morning and had an email from DPD to say its been dispatched and due for delivery today!
Phones4U page must have just messed up and not updated.

shotgun, i envy you so much right now, i phoned dpd yesterday when tracking showed my phone had started its journey to me, but the guy i spoke to reckoned i couldnt collect it from the depot this morning as it wont arrive there until tomorrow, so far according to tracking it left leceister 6pm yesterday, birmingham hub 2 about 8pm, birmingham hub 3 at 9ish n thats it, arrrrrgh........
