I just plugged my phone number into the UPS tracking site reference number field (for the millionth time in 24 hours, I'm embarrassed to say) and got a tracking number. As of 10/14, 'billing info received' which means it goes out today, 10/15. If I'm very, very lucky -- I'll have my toy on Friday! I tried to change it from 'ground' to something quicker with UPS on the phone, they said it wasn't possible I was told T-Mobile could do an 'intercept' to correct shipping addresses, but shipping methods can't be changed once a package is in the system...
If I have to wait the weekend, seeing 'arrived at destination' at the UPS site, I'll die

I pre-ordered the day pre-ordering started. I was told that we'd be getting our G1's 'a little before' the 22nd, but didn't believe it. And really, it is just a little before. UPS Ground isn't exactly speedy.
'Billing Info Received' just means the shipping label was created, and the shipment entered electronically. It's been my experience that actual shipping occurs the day after the status of 'Billing Info Received', which is dated 10/14. In fact, I order a lot of stuff and I don't recall it ever taking longer than that -- hopefully, this won't be the exception
I've read 'rumors' that pre-orders are shipping on 10/15, the appearance of my tracking number makes me thing these rumors are true.

me too... I ordered mine on September 24th... I figured it would ship today... with 1.5M orders it might take a while... I WANT MY G1 NOW!!!!
I got the same message for the 2 phones I ordered, I think it will be a few days before they ship.
Mine (black) is shipped and I expect to receive it on this Friday or upcoming Monday.

I was told the day after I ordered, by a T-Mo rep, that I could start checking UPS on the 15th and that my tracking info should be in there.
I have to have mine re-routed to my office to make sure I get it and don't have to go pick it up at the sorting center. Hopefully it's on the website today or tomorrow. Glad that the shipping reference method is actually working.
Someone on some other android forum told me that they're all shipping out on the 20th and that they're all coming 2-day express. Sha! Right! Like they're going to pony up the extra cash to ship millions of phones express on the same day without charging us extra! It makes way more sense to ship them ground starting 7 days earlier than the 22nd.
I've checked the UPS site so many times that I'm a bit surprised I have not crashed their servers yet. Nothing here either. It seems people who are getting billing info confirmation are all on the west coast http://htcsource.com mostly in CA and WA.

I'm in Chicago, so it may be awhile before I show up in the system if that's how its' going. Course I'll still be checking every couple hours like a geek anyway.

Would you tell them to give you Diane in Orlando's phone also, I will meet you in Atlanta to pick it up !! Nothing has changed on the UPS website for my tracking either .. Not even an invoice. It's as if they are saying "who are you and what do you want ?"

I do a lot of shipping and UPS doesn't update their website as soon as the label has been printed. I would guess that those that have shipped will see something on the website tonight or sooner.
i went to the ups site and entered my number but it says " >>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again. " i dont know if im am entering my number in the right format

Just a question for all of those people who pre-ordered online at Rogers.com. When you finish pre-ordering, you should have gotten a confirmation email. Did you get any other emails like a shipping with a tracking number?

How did you order it? Every time I try to port my number from Fido it gives me an error. Rogers gives me some BS on the phone and I give up. I think they are goign to show up in the stores on Friday but noone knows. Total bloody incompetence with Rogers once again.

Im adding a line instead of porting over (and keeping the second line to shorten the time between upgrades) but a rep told me you could preorder now and finish up the port after you get the phone. BUT beware Rogers reps are full of bs and you will get different answers everytime you call.

What?? If I get it after the 15th I am going to s**t bricks. And people are dissappointed with SE's delays. Its seems like a match made in heaven SE and Rogers lol.
PS: did you see the fine print? Your going to have to wait an additional 2-4 weeks for delivery of the headset.

I talked to a store today in Calgary here that had a rep in at the time and they said the phones were in shipment right now to the stores for Friday (as stated before). I would rather order it online for the headset but am worried about a delay. You would think you would get it SOONER that way, especially considering they said order it by the 9th for delivery on the 12th LOL. Oh Rogers.

Haha, this is good ... for me at least ... i'll have time to decide if is worth to pay 550 + tax to get it.
So I just spoke with a supervisor and he said that he promised me it would be in my hands by this friday. I asked him why I would preorder just so I could get it after everyone else. He responded that for preordering we are getting a $10 activation credit and the headset for free and locking in a "supposedly" better price. And they also said I would get emailed a tracking number as soon as its available. Got my fingers crossed it comes this week!

Decided to give in and pick one of these up yesterday. Couldnt find one in stock anywhere. This morning I was prepared to call every Radio Shack in the area. The 1st one I called said someone just took themselves off the list and that they had one available. I put my name on it, and picked it up 20 minutes later.
I have 2 friends that got theirs this same way. I did pre order one for my girlfriend though while I was there and she will be getting it on Friday.
I just got mine today and I had to call 8 or so sprint stores to find one in stock, ends up the store I got mine at had 10 in stock still from the first shipment and they had given a lot of their first order of 300 to other area stores. Once I got there it took them about 2 and a half hours to activate the flippin thing, my voice and 4g connected but my 3g never came up, took them forever to sort it out. They actually had to activate two evos to figure the problem out. I got 2 boxes and goodies out of the deal though, I am in the kc area too.
Which Sprint store was this? Im also in the KC area and have a few friends wondering if anyone has them in stock. Sounds like that store may be worth a shot.

I scooped mine up from the studio Sprint store, downtown in the power and light district, like 14th and grand, also I got a call from the Sprint store that I was on a waiting list at and they had one for me, i was number 15 I believe.

I was going to order it online last night and then dumb me second guessed myself and decided to see if i could get lucky in a store today. Now I realize that was a very stupid idea.
how are some of you getting overnight delivery; i placed my order around 12pm PST yesterday and i still haven't received a delivery notification or any updates; it still says waiting in the warehouse for processing; this is annoying me since it's supposed to be overnight delivery

So i have to give a description of my Samsung galaxy box so they can identify it, and get its on its way. Good thing I found this early to minimize any more delay I hope?. Anyways Whats everyones experience with a "Clearance delay"If you have ever run into it . Did it slow everything down, delay your shipping. or not have much effect.

I also have a clearance delay in Memphis...what information did you provide for the box description? Has your tracking information changed yet?
EDIT: Just called fedex and they said the package is en route to my zip code and will be here at the scheduled time...so I guess its just not updating the tracking information online.

I also have a clearance delay but I call fedex and the automated system said that it was on it's way to the shipping facility that delivers to my zip code. My online tracking still says clearance delay though.

Just talked to a rep. They said it was delayed in customs so I gave them some information and they said they would call back to let me know the package is on its way...So in response to your question, the automated system is not accurate.
OK. I had to fill out some forums that Fed ex emailed to me, then scan them and send them back! What a pain. Now i will be getting the package tomorrow rather then today. Booooooooooooooooooo anyways If you have a sg2 come check your tracking often so you dont have to wate any longer then u have allready
Funny when i called FedEx they said they received the forms needed from the SHIPPER (handtec) and dint ask me to fill out any form.
They said they hope it will get released today for tomorrow's shipping.
I can't believe handtec does not know they need to fill out customs forms when shipping internationally.

I use to work for fedex express. Putting a description on the outside would be a bad idea. People would help themselves to a five finger discount.
I submitted the forms, but the tracking page status still shows "clearance delay". Did anyone have their status updated?
I'm hoping I can at least get the phone tomorrow... With all this hassle it almost makes me regret buying this phone from abroad (especially since it looks like the official US version may be shipping this month or next).

Mine is the same way. I verified all paperwork this morning around 10AM CST. I suspect they will all get approved in a batch. Not to worry, we'll be playing with our shiny new toys tomorrow!
Edit: I just got the following reply from the Customs Agent with FedEx when I asked why the status hadn't changed at all.
The package status will not change until early tomorrow morning. You can check the website in the morning to see if it is out for delivery.
My status just got updated to Int'l shipment release. Finally some good news today!

Mine has also changed from clearance delay to Int'l shipment release. I hope they will ship it out tonight.
I called a rep about this and she told me that fedex has overnight delivery on this shipment so *cross fingers*
i may have helped you all.. my agent stated they didnt have the fcc release forms from handtec so i found the fcc id picture. and the online fcc form filed them out this morning and emailed scans in to fedex to the specific release agent.. called later and they said they now had all the paperwork they need.

This doesn't happen very often, but i just spoke to a phones4u employee who actually seemed to know what he was talking about, and he replied to one of my questions with "im sorry but i dont know" which implies to me that he aint making stuff up lol. Anyway as i believe he knew what he was on about heres what he said (still take with pinch of salt tho)
"we recieved limited stock on the 11th which we thought were for delivery on the 14th but sony delayed them and we are not allowed to deliver them until the 17th, we are getting more stock on the 17th which will be delivered on the 22nd"
He then went on to tell me that my order was due to be delivered on the 22nd, when i asked if he how much stock they recieved on the 11th he replied
"sorry but i dont know........ i havent had to tell anyone they will be recieving this phone on the 17th, so maybe they haven't allocated them yet"
So there you have it, like i said take it with a pinch of salt but he seemed a lot more 'on the ball' than all the other idiots ive had to speak to. Shame i wont be able to fiddle with it over the bank holiday weekend but nevermind. Post here if you get one thursday.

Mine is on its way! checked my emails this morning and had an email from DPD to say its been dispatched and due for delivery today!
Phones4U page must have just messed up and not updated.
Roll on 5pm til i finish work!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I not long finished work, phones4u site still says preparing, no emails from phones4u or dpd i aint waiting till tuesday, as soon as it gets dispatched im gonna ring dpd n arrange to collect it from there warehouse just up the road

Yeah my phones4u page says "order completed"
tracking on the dpd page says its currently at my closest depot and is due for delivery between now and 8pm

-£50 Google Play voucher (Will it really take 28 days to send an email?)
-£80 Sony film and music content (How the hell do we get hold of this through the lounge app?)
-Michael Jackson album (When is this available?)
-Smart band voucher (When is this released?)

not sure about voucher, i think i read it should be with you within a few days.... but can take up to 28.
dont know about the £80 thing
MJ album is released mid may, think its the 14th (altho it can already be found on the web)

shotgun, i envy you so much right now, i phoned dpd yesterday when tracking showed my phone had started its journey to me, but the guy i spoke to reckoned i couldnt collect it from the depot this morning as it wont arrive there until tomorrow, so far according to tracking it left leceister 6pm yesterday, birmingham hub 2 about 8pm, birmingham hub 3 at 9ish n thats it, arrrrrgh........
