Lost connection when screen is off for a few minutes - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I have a rooted S8, and have installed iYTB, which is an app for youtube that allows it to play while screen is off. However while listening to music on youtube, I have noticed that the videos stop a few(around 10) minutes after the screen has been turned off. When I turn the screen back on, the video is in buffering mode for a short while, even though the 4G symbol is always there, and then it starts playing again.
I am not sure what is happening but I assume there is a hidden battery saving feature that does this. Is there a way I can fix this?

Yesterday I was trying to download a large file and everytime screen went off the download was paused.
Maybe the problems are related.

It's possible! Are you also rooted or using a custom rom?

Wifi + Bluetooth issues

Hello folks. I'm experiencing this annoying issue. I used to listen local stored music through Bluetooth while surfing with no issues. But I bought a Spotify Premium account and my problems began. I tried Rdio and Deezer and both suffer from the same thing. The wifi connection just hangs, I mean, it doesn't drop but stops receiving packages, the sites stop loading and the music also stops. It takes some time to start playing again. I'm on a 35mbps down 3.5 mbps up connection with maximum signal. I've tried stock kernel, boeffla, syiah, speedmod, and the issue won't go away. When I turn the Bluetooth off, it works flawlessly. I am on the latest build. Any idea how to solve this annoying bug? Best regards.

Contact the Spotify developer .
Next time please post in the correct section .

It's not only with Spotify. It happens with any streaming based playback, as well any browser I use.

Video Issues on my Galaxy S4 GT-i9500

Hello, don't post here often but after encountering a very weird and annoying issue with my S4, I felt the need to post here. Whenever I try to view videos in Snapchat or click on a YouTube link from Facebook or something, my screen goes crazy. See videos below.
EDIT: Apparently I can't post video links until I make 10 posts

Also, here is the information about my S4 (I don't live in the United Emirates but apparently that's where my phone's from):

This issue sometimes fixes itself but it comes back. If anyone could provide a remedy for this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.
I can't see your videos, but i think here is same issue. It is like a lot of flicks to full screen, right? Only happen with some players, others only a few flicks. It happen to me since one week ago when i had to reflash several roms (stock and cm11) with pit and full wipes trying to solve a different issue, and then i came back to my original Rom (TTT, also i9500).
EDIT: i saw your video, yes, same issue, but only when playing videos at full screen. Here a s4 from Latin America.

Yeah, pretty much. Once I go to full screen then back out of full screen, it fixes itself.
Anyone know of a fix?

This morning i found a half fix, and now i found another different fix...
Fix #1: (player settings) If your player has the option for software decoding/acceleration instead of hardware decoding, it will fix it. For example, i installed MX Player and at beginning it ask you if you want sw decoding. I pushed no and the issue occurred. Then i went to settings and changed to sw decoding and voilá... Also GPlayer and VLC players have this option (disable hardware acceleration).
Fix #2: (device settings). For all players even hardware decoding enabled (please, check and confirm i am right), android settings, more, developer options (you need to activate this hidden menu), scroll down to hardware-acelerated rendering, check last (turn off hardware overlays must be checked).

I tried fix #2 and it seems to be working so far. I'll have to play around with my phone for a little while to see if the problem has been completely remedied.
Alright, the issue seemed to be fixed but a couple days ago I noticed the issue was reoccurring. I went to the settings and noticed the hardware overlays option wasn't checked. I re-checked it and went along with my business. Few days after that, I noticed it was unchecked again
Also, I've been experiencing various apps either taking a long to load or respond which results with me force closing the app with the task manager. I did recently unmount the microSD card and put it back in my GS4 a couple days ago. Could there be a relation?

No, I don't think it could be related. Surely because high CPU usage that moment because one or more processes...

Sorry for the huge bump, but I still get these issues from time to time. Is there another way of remedying this without having to check the hardware overlays on all the time?

Problem with Twitter app

Is someone having problems with the Twitter app recently.
I noticed that I keep having problems with videos and gifs.
If I press play, half of the times (especially the gifs) it won't start, but if I press on recent apps and open Twitter again the video/gif will start
Is anyone having this problem? Do you think it's related to the app or the phone?
It have a similar issue but it only started yesterday after the twitter app updated.
Strange, after the last update it seems that the problem happen a lot less than before.
Is the app itself. If you activate auto play, this doesn't happen

So if you don't want autoplay the only thing to do is to wait for a fix from Twitter?
it updated last night in the UK (so i guess everywhere?) and it works fine now.
I still have this problem, after the last update it is rarer but it still happens sometime

Ok Google with screen off is possible?

Hi
Is possible enable ok Google with screen off?
I'm trying many ways without luck
Thanks and sorry for my English
Enviado desde mi SM-G935F mediante Tapatalk
99%no , tried and not succeeded
Only when charging... if you enable it everytime it will be a waste of battery because the microphone is always on... and it could create problems because if someone says "ok google" when it is in your pocket maybe it can do something like call or send text messages... i think is better that you can't enable it

Doesn't work if your not rooted and even if you are there are I think only two roms supporting it without a glitch , I'm not rooted so can't help with that

Media playing stops randomly

Hello everyone!
I am a proud owner of the Xiaomi A1, running android Oreo.
But, since the update, every media (music, video) stops playing randomly and on its own!
At first I thought it was a Spotify bug, but even YouTube does this.
Does anyone have this issue?
PS: I already did a full re install of Spotify and I disabled the battery optimizer for Spotify, like they suggest on their forum
Thanks!!
