Galaxy Note 4 MAY UPDATE (N910PVPS4DQE1) PROBLEM!!! - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there! Im a new user posting in the xda community but in the past I always came here to find fixes for my phones. This time I found some solutions but they did not solve my problem and I saw many people with the same problem here on xda and in other places. So, I decided to experiment and do "MY OWN FIX". After 3 days with my phone constantly crashing, turning off by itself, stuck in Galaxy Note 4 Powered By Android screen, and so on. I found that the problem could be the latest android update that Samsung threw in May (N910PVPS4DQE1). My phone is a Sprint version so the model is SM-N910P. I decided to install with Odin the previous STOCK ROM (N910PVPS4DQC1) from April. I did it, I flashed the previous ROM but to my surprise this did not solve my problem.
This has been the best phone that I've ever had. I do not want to lose it. I do not think it is a hardware problem because sometimes it will get past the Galaxy Note 4 Powered By Android screen and even get to home screen and use my phone "working perfectly" just for a few minutes.
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED PLEASE!!!

Dutch Galaxy Tab

Hi all,
Just a quick introduction to myself, name's Menneke, been playing around with computers since pong, the ZX spectrum, IBM sys36/38, the old kermit and BBS's , and cpm/80 were around
I've got amongst many toys a Gtab 7" and a GS 1st gen from vodafone in the Netherlands, and been having a lot of fun with them :-D
I've had my share of near-bricking the tab (flashing awrong kernel once for instance, which made the tab reboot every time I hooked up the charger which resulted in the not charging at all .. so heimdalling the stock back was tricky
I've decided to introduce myself, share my knowledge with those who love these little droid things as much as I do, but of course the Dutch users who are on vodafone (although I ran a bad kernel for about 3 weeks which was a T-mobile one because I accidentally killed the SD which held my stock backup ..
Just couldn't bring it back to the shop and say "well, I woke up this morning, and suddenly it showed a T-mobile logo when I fired it up and after an hour it stopped working"
The Gtab is actually a wonderful device which is soooooooooooo hard to actually brick, so if you happen to have a VF Gtab from Holland and need some help, feel free to ask
The other nationalities and territories are of course welcome as well :-D
Kind regards,
Menneke
Hello Menneke,
Which kernel and rom are you now on?
According to me, it doesn't matter which provider you have, as long as you flash eu modems, since you've got a European Tab.

Hi Speldenaar,
I am now running Overcome 2.0.0 RC1 with kernel 2.6.35.7 [email protected]#2, which was included with the rom.
I haven't tried the gold version yet since it seems still buggy gauging from the comments.
I am, however, going to try and flash the beta Honeycomb rom to have a play around with..
You're right about the provider, but in my case I nearly bricked the tab because the kernel it was running caused the tab to reboot everytime I attempted to charge her, so flashing proved tricky
I accidentally broke my Vodafone stock backup sdcard, so I had to flash a european stock kernel and rom, however the kernel was a T-mobile one.
And as you might imagine, returning the tab to the Vodafone store was a no-go, since the tab would hang during the boot showing the T-mobile logo
However I noticed some volume issues due to the modem, it seems the handsfree call volume is very bad , a workaround is to set the volume to max, and then 2 notches down with the volume keys resets the volume.
I also need to wipe my battery stats because I get some batterylife issues running this quite good rom

[Q] ROMs for model Lenovo a820t

Hi everyone! I need help with my phone model Lenovo a820t.
I want to explain some issues of my phone before make the question.
I bought it 5 days ago in Aliexpress and when I received it I saw that didn't seems like a Lenovo phone, at least doesn't appears the logo neither back or front of the case. I think only the seller put a rom of lenovo inside the phone.
When I saw the features in settings/phone information, it says that is an eight core mtk6592 kernel and I don't see any a820t with mtk6592, every devices I saw are mtk6589.
From here, i've gone crazy looking for a ROM for my phone. I saw many threads but all of them are from months ago and anyone tell nothing about a good and stable rom for this model, everything are problems and nothing reliable.
Anyone knows some site where I can find a rom for this model (lenovo a820T) or anything that could help me please? I'm desperate!!:crying::crying:
I hope you can understand my question.
Of course, thanks for every response, I follow this forum since my first android mobile and there's no site with more information than this to learn.!
My phone is unusual, too.I also have searched for rims. But I even have never seen the phone in the forum.I have clamed down.Just root it,and install 3d-chain are not bad.

I will probably not be as active in the Tab 2 forum anymore. I recently got a Tab Pro and am using the tab 2 as a clock for now. I will sometimes come back here to help people troubleshoot or to update my clock, but I won't be here too often. Thank you all for the assistance you gave me 3 years ago rooting my tablet and flashing my 1st ROM.
If I get some more free time, I could start making ROMs for the tablet since I wouldn't lose much if I brick it somehow. @Android-Andi or anyone else, if you need someone to test something for the Tab 2, please PM me.
Btw, TouchWiz has gotten better since the Tab 2. I just wish samsung would update this thing to Lollipop eventually. Multi window is quite nice
Thank you jrc

Need help updating a device that has been physically modified (fixed a broken screen)

Hey guys, I haven't been on XDA for years but I'm really in the need of some help... I wounder if you guys have some solutions!
I used to have a Sony SP, the thing broke and I decided to look for a replacement. Buying a new phone wasn't in my budget so I went and looked for a Samsung S4 that had a broken screen, bought the replacement OLED (I think it's an oled display), and took it to a technician to repair it. It was a good buy but little did I know that fixing the hardware on the device will disable my ability to update it! I've wanted to stay stock and not flashing any ROMs on it because I just want a phone that works. I don't want the hassle of having to worry about the latest firmware, and flashing new kernels, I just want a laid back experience. My phone was already rooted when I got it, in fact I had the SuperSU app already installed (which I thought was pretty weird but I didn't think much of it), everything else is stock. Is there any options so that I can update my device that don't require any flashing on my PC?
I have another phone with the same issue, my mothers Samsung S3. Full story, I live in Venezuela and smartphones here are extremely expensive, so obviously if something happens to them you much rather repair it then buying a new one because it's unthinkable to afford one, besides a Samsung S3 is still a good device. So one day the phones screen starts fading black, and it stops accepting touch input, we had to replace the digitizer (Touch Screen), and it functioned like normal! Problem is we needed to restore the device because it was getting a bit bogged down, low and behold, same issue as my Samsung S4. Now I can live without having my firmware updates, but I'd really like to at least help my mom get hers sorted out!
I want to thank everyone who took the time to read this, and that can help me fix my devices!
The reason you can't update your S4 is because you're rooted.
As for the S3, maybe there aren't any updates available.
Samsung stopped updating the S4 like two years ago at Android 5.0 and I don't think the S3 ever got Lollipop.
I'm also pretty sure that replacing a screen won't magically prevent your phone from receiving updates; The restore may have caused that.
