Hello,
Is it possible to convert G900A (AT&T) firmware to SM-G900W8 VMC Canada (Virgin Mobile) firmware?
Thanks!
no. different bands. odin will not allow you to flash the firmwares
the G900A is bootloader locked, not o good variant to flash roms/root
but if phone is sim unlocked it should work on any gsm netwrork.
as for canadian fw, why would you want it, all fw are basically the same except the bloatware that is added and/or specific carrier apps for some added user functionality.
the radio/modem might come into play depending on the variant/carrier, but should be ok from att to use in canada

Hi . Can someone help ? What happends to my S7 edge verizon phone if i change the firmware for the g935F (i think is the international and exynox processor) and download the Telcel (mexico) rom in sammobile.com ? , Im living now in Mexico with this verizon phone , its already unlocked and working fine with Telcel carrier here but i want their firmware too. thanks
You can't since it's a different chip. What you can do is flash the 935U firmware though. It won't be carrier firmware though, it's pretty much just a stock Samsung firmware for the Snapdragon variant.
I'm seeing conflicting information on how to flash our phones with official software and have a few questions:
Where is the carrier-free US S8 (not plus) variant firmware? I've searched, what even is the CSC for it? XAS, TMK? XAA?
I found a thread that seems to have the EXACT process for flashing any carrier firmware, it says to download the G950/G955W firmwares, which ones? There's some for Bell, Fido, etc. The op failed to provide links.
Has anyone actually successfully debloated their US carrier S8 with a non-carrier firmware, a firmware simular to what we had on the G930U? If so, could you post your EXACT process, down to the very download links you used?
I'm using a T-Mobile US Galaxy S8, and my friend has a Sprint Galaxy S8+, we both want the carrier-free firmwares flashed, but things seem to have changed a lot in the many years since we've flashed phones (the last phone I used Odin with was the Note II!)
Thank you
I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the US variant of the S8, but I can tell you this much, the SM-G950W is the canadian model it seems, and XAC is the unbranded non carrier firmware for that model.

the 935T is a domestic t-mobile model. the domestic models have locked bootloaders and will only accept snapdragon domestic roms. you can flash the domestic 935u domestic firmware but not the international version. find the domestic-usa version here https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/how-to/6-8-t-mobile-935u-firmware-qe2-t3619151

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546689 does this help?
I got US unlocked note 8 and would like to use phone with one of carriers in Canada.
I checked my phone info and noticed that all available CSC codes are for carriers in US.
I am wondering if it is possible to change CSC codes for Canadian by flashing Canadian carrier rom.
Thanks
Is it safe to upgrade firmware targeted for one Galaxy S10+ device to another device?
Assuming both phones are either running Snapdragon or both phones are running Exynos.
Example:
- buy SM-G9750/DS (China/Hong Kong version)
- flash firmware from SM-G975U1 (US Unlocked version)
Will this be safe? What is the procedure? Has anyone attempted it?
Will I lose Dual SIM capability?
What are the potential benefits of doing so?
Will this also enable more bands (which are not enabled on China/Hong Kong version of the phone? example band 66 and band 71?).
Is there other way to enable those bands (CDMATool does not show those bands in selection).
Bands are hardware, not firmware. Flashing different firmware won't enable more bands. Flashing different firmware won't get you anything I'm afraid. They all effectively share the same firmware. All you'll do its cause potential issues.
I know the Exynos dual SIM variants share thw same firmware as the single SIM Exynos variants. But I'm not sure about the G9750/DS and G975U1 .
