I got US unlocked note 8 and would like to use phone with one of carriers in Canada.
I checked my phone info and noticed that all available CSC codes are for carriers in US.
I am wondering if it is possible to change CSC codes for Canadian by flashing Canadian carrier rom.
Thanks

SM-N910W8 canadian note 4,
i bought a Telus Note 4, and unlock it.
It works with rogers sim, but the phone has telus bloatware.
i was wondering if i should use *#272*IMEI# and Change the Sales Code to RWC (Rogers) ? will that do anything unreversible to the phone apart from now i'm geting rogers bloatware?
should csc matches the carriar that you are using? could i change my csc to FMC (Fido), a carrier that doesnt carry note 4.....so there may be no bloatware?
Hi there,
You can change the Customer Sale Code (CSC) by flashing a firmware with a different CSC, and after that doing a full factory reset. Also note that changing the CSC won't work if your phone is carrier locked. You can change it to whatever you like, it doesn't need to match the carrier.
ive seen other threads on this topic but none really answered properly.
I live in Ireland and bought my phone unlocked from the UK , i want to get my stock firmware back but i cant find one that suits my model and version. So would i
harm my device if i used a firmware from a different country that has the correct firmware i want????
s4 i9505
If the phone is unlocked you shouldn't have any issues. Except with CSC maybe.
whats CSC exactly?
Consumer Service Code, which is what Samsung uses to customize the firmware for a particular region. With devices that are locked to their carriers this also means the apps that the carrier wishes to add to the firmware. In your case, since your S4 is not locked to a carrier you can install any stock ROM you wish from any region. For example, my unlocked I9505 was originally on O2 in the UK (CSC O2U). When I purchased it from its original owner it came to me with Slovenian firmware (SI Mobil, CSC SIM). I subsequently flashed unbranded firmware onto the device and ended up with a device that thought it was Swiss (CSC AUT). In this last instance, three Swiss-specific apps were added that are not found in the other versions of the firmware. These apps were added because the CSC reported itself to the firmware installer and said, "install these apps as well". Had I changed the CSC to BTU I likely would have gotten some UK-specific firmware.
I'm seeing conflicting information on how to flash our phones with official software and have a few questions:
Where is the carrier-free US S8 (not plus) variant firmware? I've searched, what even is the CSC for it? XAS, TMK? XAA?
I found a thread that seems to have the EXACT process for flashing any carrier firmware, it says to download the G950/G955W firmwares, which ones? There's some for Bell, Fido, etc. The op failed to provide links.
Has anyone actually successfully debloated their US carrier S8 with a non-carrier firmware, a firmware simular to what we had on the G930U? If so, could you post your EXACT process, down to the very download links you used?
I'm using a T-Mobile US Galaxy S8, and my friend has a Sprint Galaxy S8+, we both want the carrier-free firmwares flashed, but things seem to have changed a lot in the many years since we've flashed phones (the last phone I used Odin with was the Note II!)
Thank you
I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the US variant of the S8, but I can tell you this much, the SM-G950W is the canadian model it seems, and XAC is the unbranded non carrier firmware for that model.
I can't find the info anywhere... Does anyone know for sure if the S8 Unlocked Version supports HPUE? For now I've carrier switched it to Sprint (SPR CSC) but I'd like to run the XAA (Unlocked CSC) if possible again as my phone is an XAA version. For HPUE I'll keep it on the SPR version...
In test mode I see the transmit on B41 @ 26DB so I can confirm the unlocked has HPUE enabled.
Hi, I'm wondering how I can get the Canadian XAC G950W firmware onto my XAA American G950U1 phone. I'm living in Canada right now and I'm missing out on some specific features so I would like to make my S8 into a full fledged Canadian phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
(In short, I want to change the region of my G950U1 to G950W)
