I use SGS5 (SM G900F) LTE model and I have subscribed to 4G services on Airtel network in India. The issue is that the handset does not latch on to the 4g network. its been a task following up with the service centres for a solution but in vain. I still have not been able to find a solution after 3 months. Can anybody help me with a solution.

i bought s5 mobile from Iraq and used it in holland but i cant get 4g network. called samsung in holland they told me my mob. from another region they cant help me, called my provider ( T-Mobile) they told me they wont help me because i havent bought a mob. from T-Mobile .
searched the net and found alot of threads but nothing can active 4g .
in my network modes i have only three and it should be four ( wcdma/gsm and wcdma only and gsm only) no LTE option .
the guy from T-Mobile told me again its from another region maybe thats why.

I am facing a very odd issue with my Yu Yureka. I had got this phone around a year back with CM11 update XNPH52O as the bundled OS. The phone worked absolutely fine without any issues at all. When I did travel to UK the international roaming (TATA Docomo - Mumbai SIM) was seamless & 3G speeds were fantastic with local 3G SIM (Lyca Mobile).
Later when I was back in India I upgraded the OS to CM11 XNPH05Q using the OTA update. When I did travel to UK again nothing worked neither Int.Roaming nor the 3G. I got a local 3G SIM (Lyca Mobile) card and even that didn't work on 3G speeds (just EDGE).
Now I am in USA and here too the Int.Roaming isn't working and also the local 3G SIM (Lyca Mobile) isn't supporting 3G speeds (just EDGE). I need your help in fixing this issue.
I have tried using my INDIA SIM card in another phone and it works just fine. I tried using my US local SIM in another phone and it does utilize the 3G network.
I have two issues here,
1. My Int.Roaming isn't working since my Yureka is unable to latch to AT&T frequencies.
2. My local SIM card 3G doesn't work - again probably the same issue.
I have already tried to reset the phone to factory setting (to CM11 XNPH05Q), upgrading to official CM12 release and it still doesn't work. I have now downgraded again to CM11 XNPH05Q (my preferred OS - I don't wish to downgrade further) and wish to get this fixed on this version.
I have read that Yureka doesn't support a few frequency bands but that's disabled at software level for sure ( I say this because Int. Roaming had worked earlier seamlessly on these very networks) and hence I need you guys to help me get this resolved by changing some setting or applying a patch maybe.
I tried asking Yureka customer support for help at [email protected] for 4 times now (over a period of 15 days) but haven't received a single reply.
Please help me fix it, I don't wish to change my beautiful phone for this.

I have replied back stating the issue is not just with 3G but I am unable to use AT&T SIM card at all (sms, voice calls etc). Nothing works it just shows "No service - Emergency calls only".
If anyone has any inkling please do let me know.

Has anyone tried it? I have read it doesn't work in custom ROM so what's the other way around?

Can you please recommend a good stable & functional stock ROM that can be used to test this out? If you already have one can you please test it out and check if those frequencies are indeed disabled.
At this point I just wish to have the Voice/Text working for my India SIM card.

It would be great if there is a simpler way to just flash the modem as such and make it work. Has anyone done or tried something like it/this before?

I'm pretty sure that it is a GSM only phone. The W-CDMA listed in the specs is actually UMTS, the competitor to CDMA2000 and the 4G standard used by GSM networks.
What network are you trying to connect to?

I don't think it is going to work. Which cell provider are you trying to use? In what country?
Most US reviews of unlocked phones specify that they will only work on GSM networks like T-Mobile.

I'm from Yemen Arabia. My network is Yemen Mobile Telecom.CDMA2000 3G EVDO.
and the rn7 reads the sim information like network name and services on the sim .
I have no idea about Yemeni carriers, sorry. Have you tried calling them?

Hi I don't know if this helps anyone and I know this is an older post but I think I found how to turn CDMA on. developer options enabled, go into about phone settings and tap "internal storage" until it opens up phone info. Choose the sim slot and there you can set preferred network to CDMA only or something like that. I don't know much about mobile network but I saw that CDMA setting in there.
That menu you get after clicking on internal storage is the same as typing *#*#4636#*#* in Phone. I've tried changing it to CDMA only or LTE/CDMA but nothing happens, the UIM card is recognized but it can't log on to the network.
More info: the Global Rom version of the phone only works with CDMA carriers that have LTE data and VoLTE voice. It does *not* work over CDMA 1x or EVDO. I had to swap a new China Telecom UIM to get VoLTE working.
