Can I save my current theme? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

i want to try some of the themes from the the theme store, but want to be able to go back to my current settings/theme

Any theme you install is visible in the theme setting. Default is just the Samsung one which is also visible.
Remember that you start in wallpaper section, where no themes are visible.
So you have to select themes, at the bottom.

Thanks for the reply, i do understand the theme vs wall paper, i probably worded it wrong.. so i have made changes to my current theme, which is the default theme. is there a way to save that, so when if i try a new theme, i can go back to the default theme WITH my changes?.. make sense?

Haha yeah I already figured something like that after I posted.
I suppose you want a theme manager from the app store , one that let you save changes.
Maybe someone else knows a good one.
Because I tend to memorize changed settings to the themes I use.

Google Search Bar Widget

In Jelly Bean I noticed there were two different widgets for google search, one transparent and another one translucent with white background, just like the Google stock one. Now in KK the translucent one has disappeared and it is the one I like and I was wondering if there is any way to make it appear again. It is still there because I have seen it in Widgets with another launcher, but with LG's it is not showing. Any clue? Thanks

Battery tweaks would be really good. It must be xposed ready.
You can use potato clock for clock mods, im not really fan of 3 minit battery but it would be good.
Any dsp visualizer would be good. Like dolby. Its really make a difference on tmobile roms.
Settings screen modification like two tabs all the thing and increase 9 quick settings count.
These are the first things in my mind. And please use the deodexed version

Well if you release the ROM and update it with new stuff over time, would be much better! People don't know what they want till they see it. So surprise us!
The only thing i would love to see would be a cyanogenmod for note 5 which i dont expect to see anytime

Icon Backgrounds

Does anybody know why the "icon backgrounds" button is greyed out?.. I can't seem to find the answer, at this point I'm assuming Tmobile chose to keep it out their versions of the S7/S7e. I've seen it work on other carriers, but I haven't actually seen another tmobile s7 in the wild. So I can't confrim
It works for me, I'm not sure what would make yours greyed out.

Okay I think I figured it out, I had to change my screen grid size back to 4x5.. Now it works, switched it back to 5x5 & it stuck.. So I guess it's fixed
Mine grayed out also tried changing grid size still grayed out

Same issue here...
Tried these so far, no luck :
Changing scaling to default/condensed
Changing grid size
Changing font size
I also saw some users having luck with changing a few accessibility settings, but that didn't work for me either...
Anybody here had any luck ??

I'm not really sure what messes it up.. What worked for me was to switch back to the default theme.. 4x4 grid.. Default scaling size.. The button wasn't greyed out anymore afterwards

Figured it out
If you're using a launcher like NOVA LAUNCHER, APEX, ETC. it won't stick. Only works with STOCK LAUNCHER.

App for Center Clock for Android Nougat S8?
Awesome thread

I just use status app
I achieve this by flashing a custom Rom. I flashed BatMan Rom on my S8+ and love it. But Renovate Ice is another good Rom

I tried using Status app, but is there a way that it still can be transparent and immersive? I just want the center clock but still get immersive and transparency.

I would be possible for someone to just use my XML files to make an overlay APK that can be installed and done. I'm just a subs guys so that's the way I went with it.

Is there any way to not have the icons blurred on the lockscreen. I am using this mod instead of the other one from a different post that has no blur. I use a the Samsung sans font so the other mod would make me change the font completely. Good work though. Love it.!
