Hello,
I recently received a 2nd hand Samsung J3 as my primary phone (Sony xperia z3) cracked. All is fine apart from one thing. The phone won't recognise my sim.
My phone is on the 3 network as the 3 start-up screen appears when powering on and off the device. My sim is on the iD network from Carphone warehouse, which is tied to the 3 network. In theory my sim should work in the samsung phone, but sadly it doesn't.
I was looking up the problem as the text "emergency calls only" appear. One of the methods was to change the network preference from automatic to manual, and selecting a provider that wasn't 3 (such as EE, Vodafone, O2 etc.) but I keep getting an error message saying "unable to connect." I looked this up and it said to dial in the phone "*#*#4346*#" and when i tried this I got an error message saying "No network connected." I looked up this error message and it said to change the network preference, which I can't do. It's like a never ending cycle.
Can someone please help and point me into the right direction?
Thanks

Check if your phone is blacklisted. If so, you won't get signal

Hey guys,
So I recently purchased a N900W8 (canadian version) from the internet and it doesnt seem to register to the Bell network. They said it was with the Bell network, but the sim does not work. I also tried a Rogers sim, and it still doesnt register. For both sims, the network bars show up, the voicemail notification icon even shows up, but when I try to make calls it says "Not registered on network". I also just rooted the phone.
So my question is.. if it is SIM locked... how come the sim lock window isnt popping up for either of the sim cards? Since that is not popping up, is there another issue here? The phone is rooted, so would flashing a stock bell rom revert it somehow?
I am stuck.. thanks for all help.

-I have the exact same problem with n9005 version
-check your IMEI by dialling *#06# then pull you battery your find IMEI number......they wont be the same
I think the problem is here
Its possibly a stolen phone?
If it has been reported stolen it won't work on any network in the country it was reported stolen...
I bought my S4 recently. It was locked to Rogers when I got it (Canada), but I had bought an unlock code. I entered it when I put my Wind SIM into the phone; but under Available networks it doesn't show WIND it only shows TELUS, Bell, and WIND Away.
I can't connect to any of them, as when I click one it says "Registering on <NAME>..." and after a bit then it stops and says "Unable to connect. Try again later."
If I push Select Automatically it seems to connect to a service for a bit that puts it in roaming so I can't call or text but then after awhile it goes back to saying "Not registered on network" when I try to call someone.
My plan for sure works, brand new SIM.
Model: SGH-1337M
Firmware: 4.4.2 STOCK
Current Network: Wind Mobile
Phone Locked, Network Locked To: Unlocked; was locked to Rogers.
How do I fix this so I can start making calls, texts, and get my data to work again? I tried following this to see if this was the problem -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291589 but I can't call that number because it says "Not registered on network" when I try.

Yup, that's exactly what I did and what happened when I first unlocked it. Before I unlocked it, it wouldn't detect my SIM at all; now it does.
Hello all,
Got a GS4 from a friend and told it was unlocked. It is a Sprint GS4 running Cyanogenmod, my friend says he used his AT&T sim card in it and it worked fine. I am on Verizon.
The reason I got this phone is I had a Droid RAZR and the screen got smashed, I replaced the screen and it still would not work. My mother-in-law gave me her old Droid PRO (which uses an older SIM card). After getting it activated the PRO ended up in the water and stopped working, of course, and I've now been without a phone for a week.
To get a new SIM activated on my number I had to use my sister's old GS3 (the screen is busted on it) and get the SIM activated on it so I can pop it into this GS4.
Well I got the GS4 and could not for the life of me get it to work. Put my SIM in, changed the network mode to LTE/CDMA, tried GSM/UMTS, nothing. So I returned it to stock, unlocked it (again?), and now I'm still not getting any service. I don't really get what I could have missed. When I go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode I select LTE/CDMA and nothing happens. If I select GSM/UMTS I can get it to search for a Network Operator, but it only comes up with AT&T and T-mobile... wtf?
So any advice on what I need to do to get this thing working would be greatly appreciated.
It also comes up saying that I am domestic roaming all the time... If I try to make a phone call it says "welcome to verizon wireless there was an error in processing your call. Please power off your phone and power it back on. If this problems continues please call #88994."
But sometimes it comes up saying "you account cannot be validated." But when it says that it isn't roaming and I believe that is a Sprint message.

hello i bought one galaxy note 3 (my second one)
i'm having one issue, the first one i bought and i ended up selling had a Bad esn but let me to conect to other networks
such as telcel on mexico, movistar, iusacell and other ones
i bought another one but i don't know why i can't use it on other networks
i tried with the service mode codes but i can't enter to something like the UMTS option on the s4 to turn off the perso sha 256
also i tried installing again the firmware with odin and it continues without signal
when it starts it shows some "sim icon" notification on the status bar and says "phone activation" the sim card is from an unknow source
it 's didn't surprise since i know the verizon phones come GSM unlocked.
maybe if someone knows other form to flash the firmware could help.
i read about some galaxy devices loosing the imei after one update ,if i dial *#06# it shows my device .
if i go to settings and mobile networks and try to select the network(telcel) i won't let me register on the network.
i hope everyone have a nice day and maybe someone could help me.
My Note 3 SM-N9005 is getting "Not registered on network - No service". When i put my sim card in, it asks for SIM PIN and I type it. Then I get "Emergency Calls Only" or "No service. It wont connect to my SIM CARD NETWORK. Whenever I change networkmode between "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" to ""WCDMA/GSM" my network operator come up in 5seconds and dissapear again back to "Emergency calls only - No service"
The strange thing is that my 3G works. Also my contacts on SIMCARD syncronize to my phone. That means that there is nothing wrong with the simcard/slot.
My IMEI is not blacklisted. I have checked.
I have factory resetted the phone and flashed tons of firmwares but no luck..
PLEASE HELP!
