Hi guys,,
I have an i9505 with RRv5.7.3 flashed and a strange thing seems to be happening....
Whenever I do a clean install of RR and install my apps everything runs GREAT, Its nice and snappy and everything just "works"....
Then about 3 days after install, and doing nothing but general usage, it starts to play up all sorts of funny, from different apps randomly crashing or acting really buggy to random reboots.....
This happens with both RR v5.7.1 and RR v5.7.3,, I was going to try the latest RR but I have a feeling its going to be the same issue.
Can anyone help me with this??
Thanks in advance
kingsdene
You can read through the Resurrection Remix thread and you will get the answer to your question. To the "Has anyone experienced an issue like this?" question I mean.

Yeah, that's what I expected. So it must be something unique to you. In other words, it could be something you've done or are doing that causes this. Maybe an app.
The fact remains that ROMs usually don't work perfectly fine for a few days then simply start to go crazy. Something must have triggered it.
Savvy?

Yeah, thats what gets me though... I do a fresh install and install my apps all within a day, and it runs fine, then a few days later it starts... little things at first like keyboard popping up then down then back up again, but I can live with things like that but after a week or two and not installing anything just general usage it gets worse and worse until the point I can't even browse the web or I can be on a call then the "phone" app crashes and then I go to make another call then it will reboot on me....
Maybe it could be a hardware problem? The phones been very looked after though but you never know.
I had a similar problem with a Linux machine I was building... It would run great, then after a while it would do funny things I couldn't wrap my head around, then next day would be fine then bad again....
It turned out that certain system files and some required packages had been installed onto bad sectors on the HDD.....

I thought that, but I have a RAM display and its never chewed up more that 1200MB
Have you tried installing another ROM? Like lineage os or any touchwiz based rom?

Just done a search about this prob and there is a couple of similar threads but they are not really same issue.
This has happened 3 times now with different roms over past month and not sure what is causing it. Phones screen seems to go bright white on wakeup, looks like a negative.
Is there any experts out there who could shed some light on it. Does it sound like a slow hardware failure or is it more likely a software issue. As I say its only happened a few times and a reboot brings it back to normal but it just concerning
Has anybody else had this same issue on wakeup before?
My first reply post here...
I have the same issue...reboot will recover it...but ones it recovered after normal stand-by upon wake up...I assume it is just some incompatibility of Android with HD2 graphic processor, minor issue.
Current ROM
Omega WM6.5.x v14
Current Android Build
NexusHD2 v1.8
I used to have the same problem and put it down to an incompatibility. Since moving to a Nand ROM it seems to have gone away.

I used to have this issue, but only on SD builds, and very, VERY rarely. From about 5-6 months of SD Android, I probably had it about 4 or 5 times.
I agree with madmillsy that I've not seen it on a NAND build, but I don't think I'd seen it on recent SD builds either.
Is it an SD build you're running, and if so, how old is it?
Edit: Forget that last question - just saw your current ROM in your sig.
I saw this effect twice, never in WM, only in Android. First time with SD build, but second time, last week with gauner's HD NAND build.
As it was already described, there is probably some incompatibility regarding graphic, when waking up from idle mode. I do not think it is related to SD builds only, they handle graphic same way, with same kernels.
By the way in gauner's build I noticed also problem with activating sound from idle mode time to time. So maybe it is not directly graphic driver part, could be somewhere else and this is just consequence.
At the end, it is rare and minor issue, the only discomfort is because of restarting the phone.
Had a few times this issue, and didnt need to reboot to make it worn off. Just put it in a colder environment, and it will go away after 10 minutes orso. So I honestly thing is has todo with the temp of he device. Mostly it came up after a long phonecall I had, which maked the phone a little 'hotter'.
Just a speculation though, didnt have this issue since I use NAND. But I guess it can come-up randomly, but I don't worry it to be honest.
Its happened twice on SD builds and once on NAND build.
I was concerned that I was starting to get a hardware fault but im relieved to hear that others have had it so it must be simply a soft bug.
It rare anyway so no big deal.
Thnx for replies guys.
happened to me once with NAND - sorted with a reset. Scared the hell outa me

the weird thing is that since I posted in this thread it happened to me twice today!...total 3 times so far... Im getting worried...
Never happened to me with an SD build (after 3 months of use) but happened twice to me with DFT's NAND, reboot fixed it as stated and yes...it scared the **** out of me the first time lol
For anyone that might be debugging the issue - it might be connected with calls.
I receive a call. After I'm done with talking, i turn on phone and it's on negative. Alright, i restart it. After restart it works fine, until i call somebody. After call, again negative screen. It happened two times in a row.
Also i don't really need solution to this problem. Only some kind of workaround that will allow us to fix problem manually without restarting phone. Maybe a script that will reset display driver or something?
Yes I know you want to refer me to (one of) the lagfix(es).
BUT hear me out first please
Bought my gf a I5800 and its working like a charm. BUT after 1-2 weeks of usage there is one thing bothering her.
Sometimes the phone gets completely unresponsive, almost freezes. For example one morning with the alarm, she was not able to shut it off. Same for a phone call which she was not able to end, cause the phone did not respond to any touch inputs.
I have read about the lagfix, BUT it seems that the lags this fix is for are supposed to be like 2-5 secs, but this is more 10-20...
I dont think its normal, Stock ROM. I would prefer not flashing a Froyo build, cause I'd have to install and set everything up again.
Any ideas? Is this the normal lag that Samsung created?
Thank you in advance
Breece
Ps.: For now I am telling her to reboot every other day, but thats not really a solution.

I was pretty sure that lagfixes erase data anyways.. But I used to have this error on the stock rom and it went away on custom ROMs. some better than others.
Hm
So a custom rom them... right now I am trying a task killer, seems to speed the phone up a bit...

Unfortunately mate, my response is the same. Looks like it's time to re-install the OS? If you want to stay with Eclair then that's fine, but Froyo has a lot Custom ROMS and is appearing to be much more faster, and with the new ROMS being released, Custom Froyo (cooked ROMS) is becoming more and more stable!
Don't forget to back everything up, before you update firmware!
Hi
The JPA/JPB Custom rom in development seems quite safe it doesnt flash the bootloader so pretty much no chance of bricking your phone(i wont say 100% as anything can happen)
I like the way you call i5800 "she" or "her" it was a valentine day, right ?
Hey,
I have a major problem for a couple of weeks now. My phone just keeps waking up randomly and turns the screen on by itself. I have root and s-off and tried out a few roms. Sense Roms as well as MIUI roms... It does not make a difference at all, so I guess it can't be rom related. I have read a few more posts on the web of users having a similar problem but there was no solution given anywhere.
Also, my speaker automatically turns on when I receive or make a call. These two problems seem interconnected since there is at least one person on xda having exactly the same two issues...
Does anybody have an idea or a solution for this? I would be thankful for any kind of help! Thank you in advance!!!
I've a similar problem a bunch of months ago, my phone turn on automatically, without no logic. I've resolved the problem pulling out the battery for a night, after that the problem disappeared.
I hope that will help you to resolve your problem,
Rodomar705
Thanks, I will try that out tonight and report!
Ok, I tried it out last night, but it did not work
Does anybody have a different idea?

Did you check the date and time once you'd insert battery inside DHD? I think to solve the problem that way, you should leave DHD without battery until the internal battery will be totally discharged. It takes approx. 12-14 hours, and you can be sure only if turning on DHD you'll find time and date set to 12:00am, 1st jan 1980 (or something like that).
Yeah, it definately worked though, time was resetted as well. I turned it in today, hope to be able to pick it up next week. Before, I ran the Ruu to set it back to shipping condition... It still had the same error, so it is definately not rom related...
It is a huge drag without it... Already feeling uncomfortable ^^

Sorry mate!! Just wait for a week, ist not so long time, and you'll get back your phone as new as when you bought first time!! Hope this makes you feel a little bit of joy!!
Ok, I have gotten my phone back on thursday (after one week)...
SO far so good, everything worked again, they even set the proximity sensor right again... Then I rerooted it and put another MIUI on it...
On friday then, I put Vipermod back in and undervolted it by 50 mA... BOOM, the issue came back, I couldn't remove it, so I took the battery out and waited for 12 hours, as you suggested... and it worked... Issue was gone... Then I ran vipermod again and BOOM the issue was there again... It didn't even help to set the mA values back to normal, I had to reset it again by taking out the battery for 12 hours.
So my conclusion is that this issue is directly related to the actual USE (not just the installation) of vipermod... Can anyone confirm? Don't want to put out false information in the vipermod thread without having others to confirm...

If changing the ROM didn't help then it is an app issue. One of your apps is causing it. Time to look deeper
I have exactly the same issue! Also with the speaker sometimes. Really annoying. If an app is causing it, how can we find out which one? I'm using ARHD 6.1.0, but I've had the issue with older versions of the ROM too (with the same apps installed).

Hi buddies
As Grarak chose to close the thread of his rom and that maybe some of you want to have some more return and exchanges about the way the rom works, discuss about bugs etc, i open this thread, so that we will be able to do what a forum is done for : talk and exchange together.
New version is 12082014, any return?
Testing soon..

i 've had terrible battery life, and searching on google lead me to a battery misc processus eating battery, problem solved with 5.0.1 by google
do you guys have the same experience, and have heard about a fix incorporation in the new builds? :good:
I had to go all the way back to the 11-20-14 build. I tried updating to the new builds 12-8, 12-9 and 12-10. No data at all on any of these builds.
Flashed the newest build! We're on Lollipop 5.0.1 now This update is supposed to help battery life. We'll see.
The new music app automaticaly force closes, and the DSPmanager was replaced with AudioFX.
thank you guys for these feedbacks.
Foxy, when you say the new music app, you mean the cyanogenmod one? strange, what could have change ?
Audio playback is fixed now ?

I don't know? It's just called "Music" but the icon is like a poorly designed not lollipop looking purple circle. But Apollo is gone so I suppose that's it. And audio playback works, just the app crashes right when I open it.

mhm then i think a change that has broke the app. I m sure Grarak will correct it in the next release
Ok, the ROM was going great for me, then yesterday at work my phone turned off when it was in my pocket. I tried turning it on, it booted, started doing the boot animation and then did that for five minutes before it shut off again. This time it wouldn't turn back on no matter how many times i tried power cycling or booting into bootloader. When I got home I tried charging it and the light wouldn't even come on. So I plugged it into my PC and the phone showed up as qhsusb_bulk. After researching that i found it means the bootloader got wiped somehow. My question is, how could my bootloader be gone, because as far as I know, no one has gotten their device S-OFF.
your device is bricked
seems there is a solution on the web but not working for everybody and for specific devices
i dont know what to advice you...
i dont know if it is rom related, but if it is, i wont flash this !
Yes that's what i figured. Luckily Amazon was nice enough to give me a new phone once I send that one in. I was just trying to figure out how it would even be possible that my bootloader got fried, considering my device was still S-ON.
any one who tried this rom found any bugs ???????? i want to know the bugs and want to know in htc 816 daul the second sim worked or not

I'm on a single sim Virgin Mobile variant here. There are bugs, yes. This is basically an alpha going into beta of lollipop. There is no one else developing anything new for this device so this is our best bet yet. Aside for some minor niggles here and there, this ROM is very workable as a daily driver. I would recommend a backup, and try this one out. I like it a lot. Grarak is quite amazing actually, many thanks owed.

Didn't test it. Haven't spent enough time on Lollipop because of the no data issue.
I've been playing around with the lastest builds, and I'm actually getting LTE to work without modifying anything, I just have to let it sit for a WHILE and it connects and works quite well.
HOWEVER, I have been getting a corrupt data partition issue with some non-google play apks. I assume that since the build are already not stable, adding homemade, root apks that modify data might cause some corruption. I'll keep playing with it and report back any further updates on how this may be happening.

Yah data works...just not good. It has to do with not being able to access APN's.
No one want's to sit "for a WHILE" to open a webpage or read an email.
On the latest build, System UI crashes.
Hey, I have The Samsung Galaxy S5 for a year and a half now. For about the past 9 months, the phone would trigger random reboots but they wouldn't be a full reboot. What I mean by this is that the phone would not ask me for my SIM card pin as it would do whenever I'd restart or reboot the phone manually. Also when I boot it into recovery mode, a dead droid icon comes up right before showing up the recovery mode screen.
I have tried the following:
Clearing cache
Factory Formatting
Reflashing OS/ROM
Running Safe Mode
Running the phone clean
Running without SD card
And running without SD card and clean
This is really annoying and a reply and possible help would be really helpful.
P.s. I have tried going to my operator and the phone was sent away and 'repaired' but this problem is still persistent.
Hello Dude!
In my opinion this sounds like a hardware, not a software problem. Does your CPU/GPU heat up often/fast? This could happen an overload and than your phone reboots. Furthermore, did you overclocked your phone in any way? I got the same problem after doing that. More possible reasons I can't imagine.
If you have some questions, ask me

Hey, I actually don't really overclock phones which I use (I only do it with ones that are a spare and something to mess around with. Also no it doesn't tend to heat up on me at all actually. It restarted 3 times in space of 30 minutes this morning by simply watching youtube. The resets are random and can happen at any state of the phone.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

Ohh okay. Anyways I think that this is a hardwareproblem. I am sure that your problem is very rarely as well.
I think only Samsung or a new phone will solve this problem.
Good Luck!
