I just switched over to Android and bought a Galaxy S8 with the Samsung LED View case. I was thinking of purchasing a wireless charging dock for my car, but had a few questions. Hopefully you guys can help me out!
Will the Galaxy S8 wireless charging work with the LED View case installed?
For magnetic wireless charging mounts, they recommend installing some magnetic strips on to the phone. If I install this onto the case instead (who wants to put iron strips on their phone???) would that cause interference or break the LED view case?

Hey party people....
So I'm watching videos of Russians with their note 3's and aftermarket wireless charging modules glued onto the back case to match with the golden pins on the phone's back to allow for wireless charging. This looks like an easy solution but I have the sview case which has two golden contacts that let the phone know I have an sview case. These contacts just so happen to be where the wireless charging ones would go (correct?) How do these contacts interact with the case/cover? Are they connected to any other part of my case? If I install an aftermarket wireless charger piece on my back cover and cover the sview contacts with the wireless charger contacts, will s-view functionality remain since gold contacts ares still there. I want to figure out with your help if these two functions can live in harmony since they share the same gold contacts. Maybe the other contacts are for wireless charging too? That would make things easier.

I have been using my Galaxy S5 with an OEM Wireless Charging Cover and Nokia Qi plate for many months now without any issues.
Recently, I installed an iOttie car mount that supports Wireless Charging. When using this car mount, I noticed that the Camera would not turn on. I get a popup error message that says the camera failed or that it can not connect to the camera. I then tested the camera while charging on my Nokia Qi plate and got the same error. The error occurs both with Samsung and Android camera apps.
I also made some other observations ...
-> If the back Camera is already running and I place the camera on the charging plate, it continues to operate.
-> If front facing camera was last used and the camera app was closed, after placing the phone of the charging plate, if I start the camera app it starts fine with an operating front camera but as soon as I switch to back camera, the error occurs
Based on these observations, it looks like the back camera is having issues initializing when the phone is being wirelessly charged. I would have never caught this issue because one would not try to the back camera when the phone is lying flat on a wireless plate but with the car mount, I tried to use the camera from within Waze app and when it did not work, it lead me to this entire discovery process. Did anyone else experience this issue? On one hand, I am hoping it not just my camera but on the other hand, if it is working fine for others, I will try to get a replacement.
You're not alone. I have the AT&T S5 and it does the same thing. Which really sucks as I tried to use it as a car cam to record bad driving habits and I can't. With the S5, wireless charging is the way to go so you don't have to keep opening and closing the charging connector flap. It is very annoying to me. Basically I believe the strong electromagnetic field generated by the charger coil is affecting the electronics of the camera. It's probably one place that is not properly shielded. I doubt you'll be able to find a wireless charger that doesn't interfere with the camera.

I'm on TELUS in Canada and have had the same problem. Has anyone determined if it's a software problem? I've been tempted to flash my phone to Cyanogenmod just because of this issue. It's a royal PITA and totally negates the reason I went with wireless charging in the first place.
Thanks,
Dan
I noticed the same issue when I tried using Autoboy Blackbox dash cam app and even Android Camera app while the device was charging wirelessly in iOttie wireless mount charger.
The workaround is to start the app before placing the device into the mount.
Has anyone seen a disassembled S7 Edge and can report the exact target point for wireless charging. With my case, getting wireless charging to activate is a little hit or miss. I'm putting together a car cradle with wireless charging, and knowing the ideal spot to center the charging coil would be helpful.
This could possibly help

I set mine down with the charging puck (round) dead center in the back. Works fine for me.
Edit: This has been resolved, the issue was with the metal plate attached to the back of our phones for use with the car phone mount. Removed the plate and now it works great. Thanks.
Hi all, we recently purchased 3 Samsung brand fast charge wireless chargers from Best Buy here. They are model # EP-PN920. When I first plug the power supply into them, they light up blue, then green, then cyan, as the manual says they should. We've tried placing my Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935A), and my wife's regular Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A) on all 3 chargers and none of them seem to work. There is no notification, or chime, or any other indication that it is charging them. Is there something that must be enabled, or another accessory that is required in order to do wireless charging on the S7's? I'm feeling really stupid right now, because from everything I can find online, S7's include wireless charging capabilities, so there's no way that all 3 chargers, and both phones are defective... Any advice/suggestions would be very much appreciated. Both the S7 and the S7 Edge are unmodded and are on Android version 7.0 with security patch 10/1/17. Thanks!
Note, sorry I attempted to provide links to the actual charger I had bought and to some screenshots of different menu/setting screens on my phone, but it won't let me post links since this is a new account.
I use scosche magicmount in my personal vehicles and my job has them on the trucks at work. I do not use wireless charging in vehicle but would like to still be able use the wireless charge/power share feature at other times. I remember seeing a mag-plate before that had a hole in the middle that allowed the qi charge to pass through, anyone tell me who makes that plate? Or any suggestions other than putting the plate way off center to the phone? T.i.a.
Take a look at Pitaka: https://www.ipitaka.com/
I have had them for several phones. Best case I have had and supports full wireless charging / magnetic mounts.
I usually put the metal plate all the way at the bottom of my phone sandwiched between the phone/case and it works well without interfering with qi.
Now with the "glow" I'm trying to figure how to use a clear case to show off the color while being able to qi and magnet mount.
The ESR clear with kickstand is not metal so doesnt work.
