Hi,
How are you? Looks like we will need to load a custom rom in order to get updates.
Any problems with custom roms and VolLTE and wifi call?
regards,
Lineage 13 (not 14 yet) and Omni are the only two roms other than stock base that have TMobile Volte. Wifi calling only on stock base.

Agree since digits works better. Wifi calling often said unable to connect.
Personally I think the lack of Volte in all these custom roms is ridiculous. Seems like the forums are concentrating on IR and themes. Fix a basic phone issue first....this is a phone first is it not?

Yup, Volte is whats keeping me form buying the phone. Its at $250 on amazon. Thats a steal for the specs. This should be enough to hold me until next year when prices for the iphone 8, pixel 2 or note 8 would have drop a bit. I cant no longer justify paying $1000 for a phone when deals like this exist

The last post in lineage 14 thread says no VOLTE ( and no wifi calling).
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72630318&postcount=615
Also don't see it in the changelogs.

How so? I haven't really looked at digits much. I thought it just let you share your phone number to other devices. Does it allow you to do wifi calling on a phone that doesn't have that ability built in?

I'm using lineage 13 and when I make a call the LTE icon either disappears or changes to something else (ex: 3G). Is there a setting I'm not finding or is it my modem firmware?
I know it's been a while, but.... Is VoLTE/VoWIFI working on LOS16 ROMs? I see an option in phone menu, but no indication that it's working. Is there a trick to enable it, such as hidden menu or something of the kind?

Does voLTE require a hardware upgrade or is this potentially a feature that all n6s can enjoy?

My house phone is better than your iPhone.
T-mobile is actually testing VoLTE on N6. I think it will be in the OS. Time will tell.
Band 12 volte and WiFi calling I hope but I'm more interested in performance and battery improvements

While that may or may not be accurate they at least have some good news. I won a Nexus 9 from them during the 20 days of giveaways in December so they aren't all bad.
As far as 5.1 goes if its out on VZW then it will be out on all Nexus 6's as far as I'm concerned. Whether or not google posts the ROM devs can likely extract the files and incorporate them into a ROM. Let's see what happens because I would like to use B12 and WiFi calling on T-Mobile. I know T-Mobile has to enable some things in their end for it to work but at least we would have the software here ready and waiting.
With all the issues the N6 has on Sprint I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon wants that fixed before releasing on their network. Maybe the texting and call issues are CDMA related rather than Sprint specific?
I've had my N6 on Verizon for months, and everything works perfectly.

Same, with the exception of the network extender. On the extender, no 3G data and the signal indicator goes wonky. It also tries very hard to connect to an outside tower rather than the extender...
Hope they fix the data icon and connections taking long to actually connect
Have Verizon actually got a n6 with 5.1 or is it just hearsay.

Hell, my wifi doesn't want to connect if I toggle it off, then back on later. Gotta do a reboot most times.

Edit: hit return too quick.
I don't recall seeing anything official from Verizon or Google that it will be 5.1. I think that's what everyone is guessing based on the features posted by Verizon for the phone, T-Mobile comments and that 5.1 has been spotted somewhere in the world on some handsets. I'm looking forward to it as I have a lot of problems with WiFi and Bluetooth which I hope this will clear up. Also, if rumors are true and we get wifi calling, band 12 (t-mobile customer) and VoLTE, all the better.

Hello fellas
I was just looking around for device trees and latest work done on VK810 to see if i could contribute and i came across this. Removed link in case someone really is stupid. See attachment! I also found GITHUB and saw very recent device tree changes so we are just weeks away from CM12.1
Now the foolish people would immediatel try to contact the developers and ask for ETA and bother the very few developers who want to work on this device. If you piss the developer, they won't touch your device again and trust me it would be a great loss to community because this promises us stable device tree and kernel sources which means that all next android versions released by google could be easily worked on. As device tree is base for all development. Please don't f*** it up for others !
The wise ones would wait PATIENTLY because it's just few weeks away to have all the love for our device. Another member is in contact with another developer and he promised CLEANROM in very near future for Verizon Vk810 G PAD LTE.
Update CLEANROM released.

I am glad to be bearer of good news.
Update
I and another user tried CM12.1 and only the data is not working. So once the data is fixed. We'd have working tree with CM with other Roms to follow.

Last time someone ported CyanogenMod they never got data working. I tried to make adjustments, modem, build.prop, tore kernel apart, several wasted attempts. Figured it was a caf issue and different commits. So I bought a Nexus 7 LTE, slapped my sim in and ran. I like my GPad just not the limitations set upon me by a locked down Boot loader. To be honest my signal is stronger w N7. So I don't even use data on it. Do wish I could get rid of that annoying "no sim" alert.
Subscribed.....
Tried the ROM... VIK is much smoother, can't speak of data. SIM is in N7

The baseband being "Unknown", which is what I got too with a Verizon SIM in, means it doesn't even recognize that you have a modem,so you can tell already it wouldn't work even with your SIM in it.

Yeah, I didn't have my sim in. I may try with sim. Not sure its worth trouble though. This N7 sim tray is a pain. But its probably going to be same issue as with the cm11 port. The 12.1 doesn't impress me. Locked bootloader puts so many limitations. GPad in general is nice, better with L, but I get better data reception on the N7?
I flashed the sweetest rom lastnight ,I can't get the volte option to show up in my menu but I can receive calls fine and do data fine ,all at the same time, like I could when I was on my stock rom.
if I go to about phone it shows I'm on lte but it doesn't tell me I'm on lte on my home screen.
Could this be cause this rom is for a style and I have a pure?
I can't post anything where the actual rom is posted so I brought it here.thanks
First of all , what carrier you on. And yea it could be because that rom is designed for style but maybe try to put it in lte/CDMA only if you are on Verizon.

Sorry yes I'm on Verizon, and I never had that option, my only options was for 4g, 3g and something else, can't remember. I had to end up going back to stock ROM while I could get incoming calls and use data at the same time they couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them, other than that everything was working great.

I tried that custom kernel but it wouldn't work with my app radio running the chromecast. Seems like running roms etc... on Verizon is a pain. If i wasn't on unlimited data still I'd leave them in a heartbeat for a more friendly flashing experience. Haha

What it does is mirror my phone on my touch screen radio using arunchained, and a chromecast plugged into my hdmi port on my radio. Instead of getting a video picture I get a snow screen and no audio. I'm guessing if I plugged my chromecast into my TV it wouldn't work either, maybe I'll try it later when my car gets back home.
So it seems Nexus 6p has trouble joining some public WiFi networks depending on the network config on android 6.0 marshmallow. The problem seems to be a little better on nougat 7.0 which I'm running but ultimately I had no of these problems running Kit Kat on the same wifi networks.
so I'm gonna say this is a google software bug.

Biggest culprit is NYC's MTA owned "TransitWireless" my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime usually connects fast (within 2-3 seconds of detecting the network). It happens on stock MM and also on the Dirty Unicorns ROM I'm on right now. any thoughts? Thanks!

Hmmm, my only question would be how often are the radio's updated? per monthly rollout, only asking because tthis behavior seems consistent across several ROM's including stock.

Looks like every few months, maybe 4 months according to the 6P Index thread below. I use a 5X and we get a new radio about the same rate. Won't hurt to try any of the previous ones to see how it fares. Must flash them via fastboot, of course.

So it's still been an issue for me. I tried a few different radios and went between some different ROMs. Same problem, whenever I try connecting to Public WiFi (even ones I've connected to in the past) phones takes a long time to connect. on rare occasion it doesn't connect.

Which of the 7.0 roms for x727 have Wi-fi calling working for T-Mobile? It has been the only thing holding me back on stock. If one of them does how does it run is it stable enough to use? My workplace is a massive dead spot so I have to have wifi calling working.
It's a WIP. I think OmniROM is the closest to getting it working though. It requires VoLTE as a fallback (which Omni has.)
